I went here last year with a Groupon for an "Allergy Test, Acupuncture Session & Nutrition Consultation." Her computer system told me incredulous things and I'm surprised I didn't drop dead from some ailment right there. Christine has a terrible bedside manner and is short with both clients and her employees. But no worries, all my troubles could go away if I spent oodles of money on vitamins/supplements. No thanks. I went to Heaven Scent hoping to improve my skin condition (Eczema) and had a very bad experience there with Christine Richards. She was rude and misleading. I showed up late to my appointment and asked her if she would still take me in anyway. She agreed, but tells me that I "screwed up [her] schedule." Christine Richards did not give a straight answer when I asked her a few questions about her prescribed three-month treatment. Is this [everything on the counter] all for the three months? "Oh, oh no." Will there be a maintenance treatment after the 3 months, or is it just the 3 months? "This is to fix it." Despite this and being as desperate as I was, I didn't think twice about going ahead with the treatment - even with my questions truly unanswered. I handed her my card. (You can say it out loud: "Dumbass"). She tells me that I can contact her if I have any questions, so I emailed her with questions that I had unanswered during our first visit, like: How much will a month's supply cost? How much can I expect to spend? She responded, saying that I can call her so we can book an appointment for a follow-up for $55 to have questions answered that I feel I should have received during our first appointment. Further, she refuses to give me a copy of her diagnoses. She told me that I will have to bring a notepad next time. Great... - Update (Nov 14, 2012) - I spoke to a licensed Naturopathic doctor who mentioned that Christine Richards is associated with a number of fraudulent claims. She has a number of credentials mainly from Sri Lanka, but is not a licensed Naturopath, so her services are not coverable under health insurance - although I specifically remember her saying that they are. From the Naturopath's viewpoint, Richards gave me too many treatments at once and for too much money. I regret going to Heaven Scent. I do not recommend this place. read more

Used a $99.00 groupon for a specific type of facial. The therapist,Candy was great however her boss was not so nice! I had already tipped Candy with cash and went to pay the HST on my groupon and the same woman snapped at both Candy and myself for trying to use a card to pay the tax!!! Clearly she doesn't know how to speak to customers and staff!!! And not only that,Candy then offered to give her tip so that i could pay the amount as i had no other cash on me. Awful, unprofessional, overall useless. After mixed up appointment times on the establishments behalf I had to mission over an hour "twice" to meet with one of there associates. On arrival the second time, I entered only to find they wouldn't validate a groupon issued by them over the Internet. Very rude attitudes and lack organization leads me to wonder --- how this women is still in business. It's disappointing and embarrassing from a health care professional stance, to misguide and FAIL people in need. read more

I just returned from my regular facial and some wonderful shopping at Heaven Scent-my favourite Wortley Village store. As a regular customer for some time now I am always impressed with the new products, décor and the chance to chat with Christine and Candy. The store looked spectacular, reinforcing my belief that Heaven Scent is one of London's best local gems. I was a little surprised by some of the other reviews on this site as these do not reflect any part of my experience. Christine and Candy in my view, combine professionalism with compassion-a blend rarely seen with many businesses. I consider myself a 'fussy, very selective shopper' with quality customer service first on my list of what I look for and expect. I wouldn't find myself making a special trip to this store, if one measure of professionalism were not in place. So this is my boast for a great store and its amazing and incredibly knowledgeable staff. (I really think there are some people who are better shopping online so the rest of us can enjoy a wonderful in-store shopping experience). read more

OVERALL (TL;DR version): Demeanor (1/5): Christine was curt with both me & her employee, Crystal. I was talked down to both in email and in person. Crystal was nice. Services (2/5): Everything was subpar in terms of quality; full body massage was 15 minutes, organization of services (drying time of polish, etc.) lacking; Crystal wasn't told what services she was giving me and had to ask me (Christine was absent most of the time). Sanitation/Cleanliness (2/5): Dirty/crusty manicure bowls; gloves only used some of the time; no process for runny noses/health issues. Atmosphere (2/5): FREEZING! Food (3/5): Tasted fine, if weird choice of offerings (4 Hersey's Kisses but one spoonful of pasta salad?). I would not only NOT recommend this place for esthetics; I would discourage people from supporting this company. FULL EXPERIENCE: My first impressions of Heaven Scent were from e-mail/phone correspondence. I received a gift certificate for a specific package of services. The website listed the package at a different price than the value written on the gift card. I e-mailed about it and then called the store. The store employees didn't know the name of any of the packages but said the gift certificate would be fine. Then Christine e-mailed saying there's a disclaimer that prices may change without notice and tried to convince me to use them on a new product line they offer. I wrote back asking how the prices changed from Friday (date of the gift card) to Monday (when I contacted them). I never heard, even when I attempted to follow up a week before my appointment. I was booked 2 weeks out due to them being busy (though I was the only customer the day I was there). The night before, I missed their reminder call but the voicemail indicated 4 times that this would be a "very long" appointment without giving an approximate length. When I showed up, I asked about parking since Wortley has only 1 hour street parking and the company doesn't have a lot. I was told "you can park anywhere" in a tone implying that was a ridiculous question. When I handed my gift certificate over, I asked if I could have the card back afterwards because it was a gift and Christine very curtly said "no." She also wanted the envelope it came in which surprised me. Although I was on time, it took Christine and the esthetician about 15 minutes to set up the room while I watched. I grew less confident as I saw Christine telling Crystal how things were set up and what product was used for what. It is important to note, the only info I had was the one line description of the package: Mani-Pedi, Facial, Full Body Massage, and Spa Lunch. First was the pedicure. Crystal asked me if I was getting a full pedicure. Then during the manicure she asked if I wanted my nails French style. Half way through, Christine came in and curtly told her I was only to be getting express services. I didn't know and Crystal hadn't been told. I felt that reprimand should not have been handled in front of the customer. I would also point out that the bowl used for the manicure (I didn't see the pedicure bowl up close) was covered in something crusty and although gloves were used for my pedicure and facial, they were not for my manicure. Crystal had a runny nose which she wiped during the manicure and did not wash or sanitize her hands before continuing the manicure. She had mentioned her son was home sick so I was a little anxious about that. Immediately after the manicure came the "spa lunch" which was ill-planned as they left me alone in the room trying to open a bottle of water and eat a wrap without utensils while my nails were still wet (ruined one trying to do so). I hadn't asked what was included in the lunch but nothing was asked about dietary restrictions and the lunch included bacon, gluten, and dairy products (not issues for me but just FYI should anyone wants to know). The facial was short (I felt it was to make up for the extra time the French manicure took) with only a hot towel, 3 pokes to my face with a needle-like tool, then a mask and a eye pads that burned my eyelids though I had advised in advance I have hypersensitive skin. Crystal also hadn't been told she would be doing my massage, but she ended up doing it while my facial mask dried. The "full body" massage lasted a total of 15 minutes (yes, I timed it) and half way through she asked if I was just getting a back massage. The pedicure was ruined by the blanket during the massage (though it had been done for 2 hours at that point) and the manicure was streaky, even before the water bottle. I had frozen feet for the whole appointment and being nude for the massage, I was shivering during it. There was no consideration of that fact. It was hard to relax throughout the whole appointment. For the first 2 hours a contracted landscaper and his gf were leaf blowing right outside the window and carrying on a loud conversation. I have to completely agree with everyone below. I will not be back and I never even had the chance to go. After an accidental missed appointment (honest mistake after I had a personal issue) I called as soon as I realized I missed it to try and rectify the situation. Christina answered the phone and I apologized and asked if there was anything I could do , she bluntly answered that she charged my credit card already. I tried to figure out another solution with her but she was very short and was not willing and had no compassion. Very surprised by the response I did keep trying to see if we could work something out - but nothing. Finally after saying I wouldn't be back to this place again is when she finally offered a discount on the service , By this time the damage had been done on how she made me feel. Lily called me back to talk about the situation she said that Christina had said I had raised my voice to her so the rudeness Christina gave me is what I will get back. She also told me that I lost them out on a $200 service that they could of been getting - pointing out the price was quite a shot at me. I felt like the phone call was just intended to point out how I was the one to blame and never intended on rectifying the situation. Disappointing as it is right in my neighbourhood and they carry all of the dermalogica products I use in addition to the other things they offer - I would of spent much more then that $200 service they missed out on ! I am extremely disappointed in Heaven Scent and will never return. I was interested in trying the Ideal Protein diet and so googled it and discovered this location close to my home. I went in for an intake meeting. It was about an hour but the associate left at least 5 different times to answer the phone and deal with other customers as there was nobody else in the store. It was fine but wasn't overly professional; the associate I was dealing with was nice enough but was wearing dirty clothes that had old food stains on both the top and the pants. The scale they used was also just a little bathroom scale instead of a more accurate one you would expect from a nutritionist. After the meeting I had to purchase the IP food that I would need as well as two bottles of supplements that they insisted I needed. I spent $50 on supplements, $180 to join and then $220 on food, for a total of $500. I went home and throughout the day, tried the IP food and learned that it was awful (but I'm a super taster so it would taste more bitter to me than others.) I quickly realized that this is not for me. I returned the next morning with all the unopened boxes of food as well as the still sealed bottles of supplements. They refused to refund any of the money or take anything back. They said that it is the Canadian government's laws, which is not true because I have returned unopened supplements to major retailers. I also have a friend on the IP diet who has returned boxes of food without a problem. I then inquired about the $180 fee to join and they told me that they would not refund that either. I said there was no way that I should pay that for the time I spent with them briefly the day before but they refused. I'm shocked by how unprofessional and unethical they are. I will never ever darken their doorway again and will discourage others from doing so. I so wish I had come on here first and read the reviews; I could have saved myself a ton of money. In the meantime I posted the food on Kijiji and sold it so thankfully I'm not out the whole $500. Buyer beware at this store. read more

Christine should not be running any type of business!!! The turnover in her staff speaks volumes. She is rude to her staff and customers. She also makes up "policies" as she pleases. I went for Ideal Protein and I do believe that not even Christine is qualified to be monitoring people on this program....nor is her staff. Her staff has at least been very pleasant. read more

I went to Heaven Scent for a QXCI scan. I recently became vegetarian and started getting migraines and everyone told me it was because I had a soy allergy. I looked online about allergy testing and Heaven Scent came up and I thought it looked cool. I called and got a same day appointment (even had a groupon for 75% off that they told me about.) When I went she hooked me up to a computer system and ran a 1-hour test. Long story short, Christine gave me a TON of information. However she won't give you prints of anything she does, which is sketchy. So my test showed a ton of frightening things; for example I am allergic to 20 different foods ( that I consume on a daily basis) and I have all these disorders, which has gone unrecognized by a doctor. So after the test was over she recommended $300 worth of vitamins. I couldn't afford it and asked her if I could write it down (my sister works at a health food store and a discount on vitamins, but I obviously didn't tell her this) and she wouldn't allow me to, which I thought was weird that she gave me all these results but was unwilling to help me beyond her practice ( Totally understand its a money thing). Anyways, I went home feeling super insecure thinking I am going to drop dead because there is so much wrong with me, according to her. I don't recommend this place to ANYONE, it is a waste of time, a waste of money, and you will only come out being a hypochondriac. read more
