I write this review as a disappointed customer. I chose to…read moretrust Sauter Automotive with my 05 Honda Odyssey as this vehicle was having an issue where 3 out of the 4 calipers were engaging at all times. Essentially the van was constantly braking for no reason. I chose them based on the 5-star reviews, but did not get a 5 star experience. I knew this was going to be a pricey repair and had saved 5-6k for it (I did not let them know this) . Initially I was quoted 4 brakes pads, 4 rotors, and 3 Calipers as one was behaving correctly. I'm my early conversations with Beth, the mechanics wife she assured me her husband the mechanic would find the issue and that all that work had been done, and that if need be we would replace the ABS Module and that he had replaced the brake booster and master cylinder as well. Next step would be to replace the ABS Module/Pump. In our following conversation she mentioned that only the front brake pads, calipers, and rotors had been replaced, and that nothing had been done with the brake booster and master cylinder other than taking it apart to replace some pins. This did not align with what was quoted and what Beth had mentioned in our previous phone call. When I asked calmly out of curiosity about the discrepancy in what I had been told prior she started yelling at me that she's not a liar and that I need to trust her. This was very off-putting as a customer who was trusting their shop with the 2nd largest purchase someone makes in their life time and gave money down. She then expressed that I didn't give them enough down and that she was angry I didn't put 50%. She never gave me a value on what the repair would cost so naturally I asked "50% of what value? I was never given a true quote on what things would cost". She then proceeded to tell me how they don't know how much it's going to cost. She was upset that I didn't put 50% down even though she signed off on the $600 I did put down initially (please see attached). In this same conversation she verbatim said "Let me be clear Charles, I will always put the shops well-being above any customers." She quoted me an ABS Module/Pump at $1700, said that they couldn't find it anywhere, and that they didn't want to go used. On the phone with her I looked up the very part on Google and there were many options used for $50-$100. She grew silent and had a long pause before responding letting me know that they only trust and use three parts distributors. Their recommendation was to dump the vehicle before the hard work even began. That's the equivalent of an orthopedic surgeon replacing someone's hip, doing half the prep work, and then when it became time to actually replace the hip and do the hard work, closing up the incision point and saying it's too hard and that they don't want to take the risk of replacing the hip. Long story short they didn't want to do the work after starting. They left the job unfinished and took the easy money. Today when I went to go pick up the car and finally revealed to them I was willing to put $5-6k into the vehicle the room grew dead silent where you could hear a pen drop, this is the point where it was clear money was the only priority of the shop, rather than doing quality work. She also let me know they do use used parts and that's an option. (Contradicting what she had told me about only using three trusted parts distributors). Based on my experience with the lack of consistent communication, prioritizing themselves over their customers, false promises, unwillingness to finish a job they started, and emotional outbursts over the phone when trying to understand their process, I whole-heartedly cannot recommend Sauter Automotive for automotive repair. I am very disgruntled as I still have no answers on what's causing the issue from the "experts", only the symptoms were addressed. You will have better luck getting a BlueDriver Bluetooth Pro OBD2 Car Diagnostic Scan Tool from Amazon rather than wasting $1300 at a scam shop like I did.

I gave them a call and Beth was absolutely amazing!!! She lined up a tow truck to get our vehicle to there shop, called me with updates, and was extremely knowledgeable!!! JOHNNIE HOGEN, I wouldn't even give 1 star. The most unprofessional, crooked, and unethical car lot…read morei've ever heard of. Being upfront and honest with customers is a MUST in the selling business, especially selling a necessity to most. The fact that anyone at all has left this lot and not made it home is bad enough. The fact that it's happened MULTIPLE times to MULTIPLE people and you avoid the issue until it's no longer your problem, is deranged. An older couple, from out of town, came to your lot, discussed needing to replace a totaled car, and explained their boundaries and concerns to you, and you sold them a piece of shit that couldn't get them home safely. When they attempted to reach out to you, as a coward, you dodged every call, message, email, etc. You did not reach out to them one time about making things right or explaining any sort of issues or solutions to them. They have stated that they just want things made right, not any sort of compensation or refund, and you were and are too entitled and arrogant to do just that. When you were confronted with the situation, you continued to lie to my face and blame the old couple for not driving the car (that broke down) back to your shop for you to fix. This is entirely your responsibility and, from one ethical business owner to a nonethical business owner, I would recommend taking accountability. As you've stated before, "Most dealers wouldn't have even given you a conversation after purchase" is exactly what you did and is completely and utterly disrespectful to anyone at all, unethical in your business, and embarrassing to yourself.
