I've always wanted a teddy coat, but have never bought one because I live in Miami. However, enter this cute little coat I spotted on the rack that is now my new fave purchase of 2025. The coat was just $16, and if you do a little dance at check out they give you 10% off. Say less, I did my little dance and walked out of there with a purchase under $15 that I've already worn 3 times! They have a good variety of nice outfits, casual ware, accessories and shoes as well. The staff was also super friendly. I wish we had one of these shops in my neighborhood, but would def go back when visiting Boone.

That's even more than my local women's club raised (through donations and fundraising only) for the same period. The store is neatly organized, and the prices are great. The day I stopped in, they were having a half-off sale on their women's clothing, and I was able to find several things that I liked. They also have a variety of housewares, cookware, linens, shoes, and decor. They even have a roomy fitting room to try on clothes. Note that they don't have any men's clothing. All of their items are donated, and many were higher-end brands. I found several Loft and Talbots tops and dresses that I had to purchase. Village Thrift is also fully run by volunteers who are friendly and happy to be there. I'll definitely return the next time I'm in town!

Last year, they gave over $100,000 to about 20 students. The store is staffed by a lovely group of volunteers who take pride in making a difference. They have a wide selection of items from art to clothing, jewelry, and home goods. I found a few cute items and felt good about my purchase as well. They even had a slogan early on of "if you can't buy it here, you don't need it". The store offers homewares (glassware, plates, pots, pans and cast iron), decor, snack items, jelly's/jams, milled products, soaps, gifts, clothing, camping gear, and even barrels upon barrels of candy by the pound. With 2 floors fully stocked of product, it offers a glimpse of how things were in olden times. Pricing on many items is very fare, from what I saw and was able to compare.
