Stopped in today to get some keys made. I went across the street to Ace Hardware, and the key they made did not work. At ACE, they use an automatic key cutter. Here, they cut them manually. I also had to have a duplicate key made for my USPS mailbox. I recommend making a duplicate here rather than the Post Office as they charge $40. read more

It was a small key too, the kind that come with the drawers to your desk. I was worried that they weren't going to be able to do it. I needed a "high security" key cut for my 2017 Ford Focus. These are difficult keys to cut, I'm guessing because of the strict(er) tolerances and the programming required for the immobilizer chip. They required me to sign a short waiver before cutting the key. Luckily, there were no problems. Heights Key Lock & Safe got the job done in a reasonable time and for a reasonable price. The employee that helped me, Ken, was great. He got the job done and was pleasant. It took less than an hour. This is a difficult process, which helps ensure the security of your vehicle, so have some patience! Also, they have the widest selection of safes that I've seen at any locksmith in Albuquerque. I am a long time customer of Heights Lock and Key, and have never had a problem until just recently. I bought a product from from them that didn't work and I contacted Mark McGranahan and explained the situation with him and he said that he would contact the manufacturer for me to get a full refund. I contacted Mark again a few days later and he told me that the manufacturer never responded to his inquiries and that he would refund the total purchase price of the item in question. Great service! Came here cause my husband needed a new key! He wasn't in town so they had him email his ID and I brought in the title. Anyway right away I got helped and in the meantime I got spare keys made for my vehicle. Without the clicker it was about $11.10. The guy made sure to go check that it would unlock my car which I thought was considerate cause I didn't wanna end up having issues with the key later. Anyway, there was an issue with the database to get the exact copy for the othervehicle but they worked very well with me and my husband. We were supposed to need a key super early in the morning and they even called us at 8:30 to let us know that the key had been made and ready to be pick up. Not sure why it was a little over the price they had initially quoted us for and the new key didn't come with a clicker. But overall, quality of service and product was great. I replaced my car door lock here after trying other locations. Due to the design of the key on the door many locksmith gave up after couple hours of try. When it took them pretty much all day I was not surprised at all. Actually, I was surprised they didnt' give-up and actually make replacement on the door. Because of design of door locking mechanism it is quit tricky to install the locking cylinder based on watching other locksmith tried to remove the cylinder. Technician accidently broke the piece of wire that lock all the door automatically using key from outside. I'm only driver so I hardly use all four lock unlocking unless I pickup kids from the school. The manager brought part to the waiting area and explained me what happened, and suggest their course of action to fix the locking mechanism. They called me few days back regarding part received from the car dealership and few days later I brought the car in for fix. I really appreciate their honesty regarding mistake they made and provide quick resolution. I would probably not noticed about the locking system broken until later in time. They could have easily not mentioned about the accident and not bother to go out of their way to provide solution. I was very impressed by their business integrity and understand why they are in business for such long time. I recently used Heights Security to make copies of a key. The Key was copied perfectly and I had no issues with it. A few weeks later I called because the lock on the front door to our office stopped working properly. I scheduled an appointment and was told they would call before they show up. The scheduled day came and no call or technician showed up to look at the lock. I had to call back the next day to be told they overlooked my appointment and they can reschedule a few days later. This was an important lock that I needed fixed ASAP but they decided to take their time to send someone out and forgot about us. I decided to schedule a second appointment hoping they would not make the same mistake and the technician showed up only to tell me they did not have the parts and he would have to come back. He could not tell me how long the parts would take to arrive or when they could come back. Weeks later the lock on the door was finally replaced after having to call Heights Security for updates on the parts. If you are looking for unprofessional service and are not in a hurry to have a lock replaced or serviced these guys are great. If you are looking for a professional lock company that shows up and does the job in a reasonable amount of time look elsewhere. I was hoping for so much better. Terrible customer service. I went there for lunch to have my key fobs programmed. After 10 minutes waiting in line I paid for the key fobs to be programmed and the clerk begins to program my remote. Before he could finish, the general manager tells him to stop what he's doing and go help customers at the register. I talked to the owner to voice my dissatisfaction and he was no help and told me to go ahead and file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. So I am writing this review and warning future potential customers to stay away from this company. Over a month ago, I went into this place with three, approximately 50 year old Schlage Double Cylinder, deadbolts, with a deep patina like an antique brass coating. I asked Jessie to key them all to the same key.. About a week later I was informed they were ready. I went to pick them up. But they could not find them and was told by Jesse "they had been lost!". He said 'this had never happen before and that the would check their in-store surveillance to find out what happen to them". A few days later I checked in and was told that they were still working on it. I got the same story for the next three weeks and finally asked them to replace them. Jesse came out with three locksets made in China and I said I would not accept them...so then Jessie brought out 2 new Schlages, without the deep patina ..antique brass coating. . At this point I accepted the 2-Schlages but they were not keyed alike. So I left then to be keyed and went back a few days later and again was told that they had been lost but that they were looking for them! I do not know what they were trying to do but asked them to replace them. Out of desperation, I left the store with three (made in China) locks that had not been keyed alike. I had spent too much time and energy on this disaster and do not know what kind of game they are playing and out of desperation accepted them . I could not listen to Jessie's excuses any longer. I admit my mistakes and have made mine; much like many others I'm sure. Having used other locksmiths for my vendors over a number of years, i decided to try Heights. My mistake. I had a door alarm which i could not get into. They showed and using my key were able to open the lock right away. Ok. I get it. I called them and business is business. So they charged me over $100 to open a lock with my key. Well, lesson learned. My former vendor, soon to be my current vendor, would have seen the bigger picture and charged next to nothing; knowing that as a commercial account, they would receive a lot more business, they would have cut me a break. Lost one of the keyless remote fobs for our RAV4. Ordered one from RemotesRemotes.com. They advised taking it to a qualified locksmith. This place seemed very qualified. Might be with other remotes but with RAV4...not so much. Something went amiss and the remote didn't start the car. Starter turned but engine wouldn't catch. They tried over and over. This triggered the anti-theft circuit and killed the car. Dead. Subsequent attempts failed. Had to call a wrecker and had the car hauled to a dealer. Dealer said both my remaining remote and the new spare were cooked, the ECU was locked. Two hours labor, new fob needed...$316...to get it running again. In fairness, they have a disclaimer when you bring in a remote. Take them at their word. read more

While the bike was in your possession the ignition was broken and since then no one has been willing to help resolve this matter. Heights Key and Lock was recommended to me by Ace Hardware across the street. I needed a new deadbolt that could be re keyed to my existing key. I was waited on right away. I ran back across the street to Ace for something else. When I got back, maybe 15 minutes later, the deadbolt was ready waiting for me on the counter. Excellent customer service. Don't bother doing business with this company. They over promise and don't deliver. The last time I went there they failed to follow my instructions and cut a key to an old worn out lock when I asked them about it they said it's worn out and needs to be rebuilt they cut the key to the lock and it didn't work. Because the tumblers were worn out and they didn't rebuild the lock as the work order stated. I went back to the store talked with the manager Jesse I explained to him that the lock didn't work correctly and that the order was not completed as requested, after explaining the situation to Jesse that the lock was not acceptable and that it was not rebuilt as requested. I explained to Jesse that as a customer going to a lock Smith I expected the lock to work as if it was new because it was supposed to be all new. Jesse assured me that the next time I come in he would make sure my order would be completed as requested and that he would up the quality of their work. I went in to Heights key and lock again today with two door handles from a Chevy truck And a Porsche ignition switch to be rebuilt. instructions were remove old tumblers, clean and service the lock, install new tumblers and cut new keys to match the new locks and lubricate. Their delivery time was by 5:00 the same day for the truck handles and a couple more days for the Porsche ignition switch. I arrived at 4:45 to pick up the Door handles, they were on the counter were they left them this morning. They said they didn't have time today to work on them. Clearly my business is of no value to Heights key and lock. I will not ever do business with this company again. After Jesse reassured me last time that if I came back he would make sure Heights lock and key would not disappoint me again. Strike three no more business from me.
