    Frankfurt Airport - Busy walkway

Frankfurt Airport is one of the largest and busiest airports in Europe, and overall I've had mostly…read morepositive experiences here. The facilities are modern, clean, and there are plenty of shops, restaurants, and places to sit while waiting for a flight. The biggest downside is the walking. Depending on your gate and connection, transfer routes can be surprisingly long. I've had a few tight connections where it felt like I was speed-walking across half the airport. If you're connecting through Frankfurt, give yourself some extra time if possible. That said, signage is generally clear, security and passport control have been reasonably efficient in my experience, and the airport handles a huge volume of passengers remarkably well. It may not be the most relaxing airport for a connection, but it's organized, functional, and gets the job done. A solid international hub overall--just be prepared for a bit of exercise between flights. My fitness tracker probably loves Frankfurt Airport more than I do!!

Not a fan of this airport unfortunately. Our flight from Italy was delayed, which caused us to…read morearrive at this airport late. Then there's no "terminals" so we got off the plane, and had to hop on a bus to the doors. Had to obviously go through passport control and it caused us and 25+ others to miss connecting flights. No sympathy from the staff, and they did not hold the flights either. To top it off, there were no more flights that night until the next day. We were advised to go to the transfer desk. A large amount of travelers arrived at the desk. It was very busy so the agent said to go to another one. The agent there told us to exit the airport, renter, go through passport control AGAIN and head to the main transfer desk. What???!!!! Sooo, we did, and got to another large line. We had to take a number and wait almost 2 hours for a simple switch and hotel room voucher. I was not impressed whatsoever. It's too bad because the airport itself seems nice, but it's unorganized. Also the hotel shuttle only ran once every 45 minutes so it took a while to first of all, find the bus stop, and then arrive there. It was a hot mess... PRO TIPS: 1. 2+ hours for a connection is necessary, this airport is notorious for advertising short connecting times and causing people to miss their flights 2. Avoid it all together if you're connecting flights :(

The entire experience embodies the epitome of German luxury, efficiency, and accuracy. When my taxi pulled into the private driveway, I was immediately greeted by a staff member (who had "PhD" on her nametag!) who walked me inside and through security. Let me tell you, the security process was the smoothest I'd ever gone through! Then it was a quick ride up an elevator into the sprawling main lounge area. From left to right, there was a spacious business center, lounging area, full bar, restaurant, cigar/smoker's lounge, sleeping rooms, bath suites, and restrooms. I understand the bar has one of the greatest whiskey collections on the planet, though I went for a nice Cuba Libre to go with my stogies after breakfast. Breakfast was a combination of buffet and kitchen-prepared meals. I ordered an Eggs Benedict and helped myself to the nice selection of buffet items. Delish on all counts! When it was time to go, I found my guide who then took me downstairs to the immigration desk and a VERY nice Porsche SUV where the driver took me through the labyrinth of roads under the airport terminal and to my flight. He even escorted me right to the plane's door! I will never forget this experience, and I sure hope to be able to do it again.

I'm deducting a star for the young lady at check-in, indicated the direction of the club with a head nod and a "that way" as she was too busy on her Freakin phone. That kind of work ethic has no place in a club shuch as the Senator First Club. For godness sake, managers, do your job and demand at least moderate respect of your clients by the first staff you encounter in an otherwise we'll run airport lounge. Disappointing....

When traveling in Germany, Lufthansa is the Star Alliance partner lounge with United. I've been to several Lufthansa Lounges. Some have more amenities than others, which include showers, changing rooms and/or beds for a quick nap or rest. This particular Senator Lounge at FRA is always clean and very well stocked with food and drinks. A great selection of food and beverage is always available! Overall the lounge is very well maintained with a lot of seating space. There are quiet areas and central areas alike to lounge or work, while you're between flights. Additionally, there are also quiet booths for phone calls. Would I go back? Absolutely. A friendly oasis when having to trek across the planet is always a welcomed break in the action.
