After reading the one review for this amazing dentist, I feel compelled to post my experience of this provider's SKILLS instead of posting a negative review of insurance snafu's that are wholly unrelated to Dr. Chiu's services. I visit Dr. Chiu at least 4x a year for cleanings and check-ups because I'm in the early stages of periodontal disease. With regular visits, cleanings, and home brushing/flossing (water and regular flossing - you gotta floss!), my mouth is healthy and the periodontal disease is under control. Dr. Chiu and her staff have done a lot of work on my teeth/gums over the years. I've had a bone graft on a back molar, surgical repairs to my gums, bite re-alignments, and deep scalings among other dental procedures. Dr. Chiu always takes as much time as necessary to assess and address issues. She clearly explains what she's doing and why she recommends a certain course of treatment. She carefully answers all questions no matter how basic. My favorite hygienist, Kelly, gets my teeth squeaky clean. For those who might need it, she also offers payment plans for expensive dental work. Dr. Chiu does all of the dental work herself; she is a sole practitioner with advanced training in periodontal disease, surgery and cosmetic dentistry. Her credentials are without peer - Tufts and Columbia. Along with mad skills, Dr. Chiu has the one thing that everyone wants in a dentist - golden hands - and no amount of education or experience gives a dentist the gift of great hands. If you live relatively close to Florham Park, NJ, I don't believe that you'll find a better dentist anywhere. Period. Along with her fabulous, courteous and caring staff - hello ladies! - she's the best dentist that I've had the pleasure of knowing in my almost 20 years in the area. Best dentist and staff - 10 stars. As for the insurance snafu, wouldn't we all be better off if the insurance companies were shut down tomorrow? I can not say enough good things about Dr. Chu and her staff. I have received quality work provided by trust worthy safe technicians from cleanings to cavities, and other procedures. My family has been going to her for over 20 years, and now many of our close friends and coworkers are patients of hers as well. Quaint office, very clean and up to date, wonderful friendly dental staff and secretaries. I nor anyone that I know that has received a service in her care from cleaning to root canals and implants has anything negative to say, they are all so happy that they can have a pleasant relaxing and safe experience no matter how minor or major the procedure. Thank you so much to Dr. Chu and her staff for providing such great quality work over the years. If you are in need of a new dentist or have had a negative experience that is preventing you from getting the dental help you need, I can honestly say that you will feel safe and comfortable in their care, her main priority is making sure that you are informed every step of way and that everything is done properly. She sincerely cares about all of her patients, I promise that you will have a great experience and receive the best dental care. They are incredible with children, and those with little ones know the importance of making sure that your child feels comfortable, Dr. Chu and the technicians are VERY gentle. I can almost promise no tears after they get a toy from the toy chest and get to pick out of lots of fun flavors of toothpaste for their cleanings. Furthermore, I nor anyone that I know that is under her care have ever had a problem with insurance or billing, the secretary and office manager, Gina, have always been very informative and knowledgeable about what plans are accepted, ect. They have been doing their job for many years, and I find it hard to believe that if these problems were consistently present that her practice does as good as it does. It had been six years since I went to a dentist and I figured I was way over due to see one. The last dentist I went to was in Colombia and I loved her. I couldn't afford to go to Colombia every year for a dental checkup and I was too scared to go to just anyone. I was referred to Dr. Chiu by Gina, a close and very loved family friend. I trusted her judgment and referral and made an appointment. From the minute I walked into the office, the staff was very friendly and caring, ready to serve your needs with no hesitation. I came out of the first consultation feeling confident and knowing I was in good hands. Dr. Chiu worked with me and focused on my needs and not the benefits of her business. She suggested a few options based on her evaluation and did so in pure honesty and experience. I made the second appointment for my procedure (2 cavities and composite filling) and was treated with the same loving care as day 1. She did a fantastic job!!!! Better than I expected. She truly has talent! Dr. Chiu's office mixes talent, honesty, care and devotion - a perfect mix that will have any client satisfied...it sure satisfied me. Dr. Chiu is a wonderful, caring,and honest person. The 1st time I met her she sat with me for a couple hours and explained all my options from low to high in cost. I am really afraid of Dentists and she talked to me about why I felted that way. By the end of my visit I was very confident in going to her and we made a decision together for what was good for me. I walked out feeling that money wasn't her mean objective and that she really wanted what was best for me. It has taken a long time, but I have a beautiful smile to prove it. She is a proud person and really takes her time to make sure everything is just perfect. Dr. Chiu and her ladies did an awesome job! My name is Digna, Gloria Molina's caregiver. Gloria has been physically and mentally disabled since 2007. I have been her caregiver since 2011. Dr. Chiu and her office staff treated Gloria with the utmost care and love. They were very patient with her and provided everything necessary for her (due to her disability) to withstand all the procedures performed at her appointments. They were very gentle with her and provided the care that Gloria so desperately needs especially being in the hands of a stranger and being treated by people who she does not know. I can truly say that Dr. Chiu and her practice truly care for their patients and really do want to provide the best care possible. We are very grateful to have found her. I had visited at least two other Implant Dentists before settling on Dr Chiu. It was her upfront, direct and knowledgeable approach that made me decide on her. No sales pitch, no presentation just her opinion on the best course of treatment and the options that I had within those parameters. I have almost completed my implants (5) with Dr. Chiu. This office always has the most pleasant staff exhibiting a caring attitude. Dr Chiu is the best dentist/surgeon I have had experience with over the last 35 years of dental surgeries. I wish I had found her sooner. Direct, honest, reasonably priced and expert at her work. No infections, no swelling or bleeding, minimal discomfort lasting only a day or two. I have been a patient of Dr. Chiu for more than TWENTY THREE years. I am so grateful to her because throughout the years, I have only had three cavities. Prior to going to Dr. Chiu I had a dentist that would find a cavity each and every visit as well as telling me at each cleaning he was going to send me to a periodontist because I was developing periodontal disease. Lucky for me my daughter started working for Dr. Chiu and highly recommended her. After my first exam not only did I find out that I did NOT have periodontal disease, I also had no cavities!!! Finding Dr.Helen Chiu was a miracle, she ad in the Marketeer and I followed through with a 1st visit, after meeting Dr. Chiu, I was treated like royalty and her staff make you feel like you have being a client for a long time, so friendly and professional.
