Over my lifetime I have seen three different therapists and I can state unequivocally that Helene is the absolute best I have seen. I can't thank her enough for the changes she has helped me make in my life and the happiness she has helped me self-realize. She was a God-send to me. I first began seeing Helene in 2004 during a very stressful time in my life. I saw her weekly in person over a period of four years. Through a combination of talk therapy, personality analysis and EMDR, she helped me identify and learn to deal with childhood trauma. I stopped seeing Helene when a job changed required me to relocate to the Bay Area. In 2021, our only son only unexpectedly. I called a therapist who I had seen in the Bay Area for about a year and immediately realized that she was not the therapist I needed. I then called Helene and began seeing her virtually on a weekly basis. She was invaluable in helping me deal with the enormous grief I felt. I have continued my work with her since then and I intend to continue to work with Helene as long she continues to practice. The reviewer who said "no one has a professionalism, the compassion and the heart of Helene" was spot on. I also agree that the tools she uses are indeed absolute miracle workers. Helene has exceptional empathy and extraordinary intuition. She is smart, articulate, broadly educated and takes a holistic, non-formulaic approach to her patients. What makes Helene truly unique as a therapist is that she proactively helps you identify issues and to deal with them. She doesn't make the patient figure it out him/herself with "how did that make you feel" kinds of questions. It's hard to believe, based on my experience with other therapists and observing my wife's experience with her therapist, that more therapists don't take her approach. I read the one-star review posted and I have trouble believing that I and the other patients who left five-star reviews are talking about the same therapist as this reviewer. I have to conclude that this review is an aberration. If you are in need of help, you would be doing yourself a disservice by not at least meeting with Helene once or twice and judging for yourself whether she is the right therapist for you. After losing several family members parent, grandparents etc. in a short time. I decided I needed assistance in managing my grief. I am so grateful that I found Helene. She immediately put me at ease as she seemed to instinctively understand exactly what I was going through. Please don't turn an innocent child's trust into an "easy source of continued income source even after Therapy ends" That is unethical. You have no business to make our daughter feel less lovable no matter what, or make her feel untrustworthy accusing her of recording your FaceTime visits. You don't talk to a teenager that way !! My wife and are of 16 years are going through some touch relationship times do to issues we just can't seem to figure out on our own but are not ready to give up. I saw Helene's office on Yelp and with only having great reviews and good Fair Oaks location near our house I gave her a call and she took the time over the phone for hear a quick version of what was going on. She was able to see us the following day. My wife and I have not see each other for 3 days and I went in with a guard up to a certain degree but as the 1 hour session progressed and hearing my wife open up, my guard went away and I was able to open up as well. We left the first session feeling hope and already a lot better. Helene was so kind and unbiased. We both felt very comfortable talking to her as well as being a nice comfortable office in the Old Fair Oaks Village. Two and a half years ago, I lost the love of my life. My wonderful husband, who I looked forward to growing old and holding hands with beyond retirement, died suddenly and without warning at 50. My whole life seemed over. Luckily, I have wonderful friends and Helene to baby- step me in the darkest time I will ever know. I went to another therapist at first, but I did not feel the connection that I needed. Then, a close friend referred me to Helene, and the minute I met her, I knew I had found a safe place to learn how to handle grief and try to figure out how to keep living.
