I must admit I was fascinated by hypnotherapy, especially after having good experiences with EMDR therapy and basic talk therapy. I highly recommend Tiffany King at Sacramento Hypnotherapy. I am dealing with shingles with the complication of neuropathy and it affected the nerve connected to my left arm causing the loss of it's use. I was in agony and nothing conventional medical care or even conventional alternative approaches helped. After 3 months of this, I got the idea to try hypnotherapy to get some control of the pain and finally get some sleep as well. It worked better than expected. Healing of the damaged nerve was greatly accelerated over 12 sessions and 6 weeks. I've regained a portion of my hand and arm use, the pain is less than a quarter of what it was and a lot of the time I am pain free now and ready for physical therapy to get the rest of my arm back. THIS BUSINESS IS A FRAUD READ THIS BEFORE YOU GET RIPPED OFF They do not hypnotize you or attempt to hypnotize you. They will not address your specific reasons for therapy because California does not license hypnotherapist to treat emotional or mental conditions. They will vaguely tip-toe with the words they use during your session to avoid any legal repercussions. What you will experience during your session is meditation at best & I only say that because you lay upside down for 3o minutes with your eyes closed. Take 5 minute and google California laws hypnotherapists. So I went to the free consultation where I was sat in a chair, had the chair inverted so that the blood rushed to my head for 30 minutes. I was never hypnotized because she never tried to. I thought maybe they aren't legally allowed to during a consultation or something. So I walked out of the session feeling light headed & relaxed. She then proceeded to sell me on buying a package of sessions because it was cheaper and the more sessions I did was the best option. It felt weird to me because I have always paid per session with every legitimate therapist that I have seen, this package deal was new. I was desperate for help so I put a deposit down for 14 sessions thinking that I would go all or nothing and I was feeling pretty good & relaxed when she pitched me. I did 3 sessions and every single session was identical. Never tried to hypnotize me, never talked to me about the issues I was dealing with that I wanted help with. She said the exact same thing every single time like she was reading off of a script. Finally it dawned on me that this was complete bullshit. What I was experiencing was a combination of the head rush and meditation. So I told them that I felt like I was being ripped off and asked for the remainder on my deposit back which was for 9 remaining session which I HAD NOT DONE YET. I was told no I can't have my money back because I signed the contract and it says no refund. I explained that I was not asking for a refund for the sessions which I had done. I wanted my money back, $1,260, for the 9 remaining sessions which I had not done and was not going to do. I was told the same thing. No we don't give refunds & you signed the contract. If you think that my experience is just an isolated incident & I'm one upset customer because you see so many 5 star reviews on here, read the 1 star complaints. Maude is an amazing woman. As of today I am a working student attending a court reporting school in Gold River. Just recently I found myself stuck attempting to write at 140 wpm. I had been stuck at this speed for about seven months without having passed any tests. After spending more than a $1,000 on 10 treatments, I can say that hypnotherapy did not work. I sought out Maude because she had the most positive reviews and I was hoping to get help with my ADHD. The first thing she does in the introductory meeting is go over the hypnosis process. She will tell you if you purchase 4 or more you will get a discount on the sessions. She "recommends" 10 sessions (which was mentioned by another reviewer) so that the results stay "permanent". After two sessions of paying full price, I was hesitant to keep coming because I had not felt any difference. She stated that it was normal and some people adjust differently. I "invested in myself" and paid four sessions up front. By the 5th session, I still had not felt any difference. I brought this up with Maude, she gave a smile and said "well, we will just adjust our sessions. I repeated this process up until 10 sessions. I felt very stupid. Every follow up session she would ask how I felt. I gave the same answer "nothing has changed". She would give the same response, she would smile and adjust the session. During the session, she would be giving instructions to your "inner spirit". Which when I heard that, I knew it was similar to the meta physic trend that was all the rage 10 years ago. The most popular book on this trend was "The Secret". Positive thinking, believing anything is possible, changing your language. All of this could have been gathered from a $13.00 dollar book on amazon. If you choose to go this route, at the very least, pay by session. Don't keep coming back because you gave all the money up front and surprise surprise (no refunds) for future sessions you decide to cancel that you already paid. To conclude, if things don't change for you by the 3rd meeting, walk away. I guarantee, the 10th session is the same as the 3rd. I'm a divorced father of two kids and I really needed help with my condition. I couldn't afford $1,000. She seemed surprised when I asked about her background and experience. Even so, I signed up for three sessions (discount for multiple visits) and kept an open mind. I knew going in I was very susceptible to hypnosis from a session I had in college, and I was excited to begin the process. After three sessions I was pretty disappointed. Each session seemed more like a meditation exercise than a practical approach to my specific issues. I don't feel that I got any value from the whole experience except maybe a lesson in watching my wallet. It would be easy to dismiss me as a "non believer" but nothing could be further from the truth. I have been a customer of Maude's and Sacramento Hypnotherapy for over 5 years now. I have been extremely pleased with the services received and the results I have achieved working with Maude. I initially went to Maude to address my fear of heights while driving. I would get panicky being in the car or driving up New Priest Grade Hill getting to Yosemite. It is an extremely steep hill with lots of switch backs overlooking the cliff. I now have no problems driving up New Priest Grade. I won't even let my husband drive up the hill because I want to continue showing off my accomplishments and feel proud that I have overcome this fear that gripped me for a couple of years. I also appreciate the peaceful and safe space that Maude provides at Sacramento Hypnotherapy. The office has a tranquil feeling and all of the other Hypnotherapists and staff members make me feel at ease and relaxed. I have also enjoyed attending the Holistic Wellness Meetup Group at Sacramento Hypnotherapy that is once a month. I have enjoyed learning about other types of holistic practices such as meditation, massage, avyerveda, shamanic healings, and constellation work. I have gotten tremendous value out of these classes and even now work with some of these other practitioners. Lastly I wanted to add that I had been a skeptic of hypnotherapy prior to seeing Maude.
