I stopped by after lunch with a friend to grab a few cigars to go. A good friend of mine recommended I check out Helios because of their selection. Mike was incredibly helpful and gave me some great recommendations based on the types of cigars I smoke. The selection here was fantastic: Fuente, Padron, Oliva, Caldwell, AJ Fernandez, Pepin and Tatuaje and so much more. The staff and folks there smoking were incredibly hospitable and as I was getting ready to take off I was suckered into staying to smoke and I'm glad I did. Everyone was great. I stayed and smoked the "951" house blend which I was told had about 3 years of age. Delicious cigar. I was also fortunate enough to get a couple of "La Vereda" by Crowned Heads which is super hard to find and a couple of nice Tatuaje cigars I haven't tried. Price point everything was at a great value, even the samplers were priced really well. I think you should check out Helios, you won't be disappointed! I will be back for sure! read more

This lounge Is both a little pice of art and uniqueness. This lounge is perfectly located in a picturesque shopping plaza near restaurants and retailers. Tony, the warm and vibrant, bearded cigar lover greeted me as I walked in. We hit it off instantly chatting about cigars and art! My absolute 2 favs. The lounge itself is small (700sqft maybe), but packs a big creative punch. Where they lack in serving alcoholic beverages, they make up for in its amazing House Blend cigar selection. The lounge is open with a big family room feel, however there are 3 distinct sitting areas. As you enter, a sitting area is strategically placed by a huge picture window that lets you see the people walk by. There is a middle section near the beverage fridge that's a perfect spot to watch TV... and a small corner in the back for conversations and some privacy if you're on a date or don't want to be bothered. I was so delighted to meet some of the local patrons like Dwayne, a passionate thinker, Tony an art buff and former art teacher, and Shawn an up and coming cigar lounge owner! The bathrooms were clean, but the sign in the bathroom "gentleman's lounge" was a little off putting for me... loved the sensual artwork throughout but this spot definitely catered to the male audience. I've been living in Riverside my whole life. It's funny the things you miss in your own city because you just don't look because you think you know it all. Take my advice, if you are looking for something in your city, actually search for it!!!! I've been missing out on local cigar lounge for 3 years hahah!!! I try to generally give ratings based on what could they do better. The only reason Helios doesn't have a 5 star is because they do not have a bar. That is it, plain and simple. This place does everything right! It is in a good location, there is adequate ventilation, and the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. One thing I really like about Helios is that the sell tobacco for pipes!!! I got into pipe smoking about 2 years ago. So I will definitely be going there with my pipe. Helios has a really nice humidor that is packed! They have a really good selection of cigars, and they know right where things are if you only really know what you want to smoke, and don't have a brand in mind. Helios is also decorated very masculine with dark colors and leather seats and sofas. While they don't have a bar, they do have a cooler with non alcoholic drinks for sale. It's been a long time since I smoked cigars, so I've been going to a few smoke shops but been hugely disappointed. Most of them are glass pipes and vapor shops and not really a cigar shop. So, since I work in Riverside (hospital) I used Yelp to help find this true cigar shop/lounge. They had a good selection and lots of premium cigars. The lounge area look cozy and comfortable. The staff (Tony) was helpful and checked up on me to see if I had any questions or needed help in making my selections. I picked up a total of 5 sticks-all Arturo Fuentes (my all time favorite brand). My only disappointment was that the Opus X were not on display. Tony said that they did carry them but that they were on reserve. He did offer to show me what they had but I felt like that would have been a tease to me. I plan on going back an ordering a box next time I have extra cash to spend. read more
