I've been following HOHW shop on fb for a while now. With my long term artist moving I needed to find another . On Friday the 13tb I saw a few tattoos of Kevin's that caught my eye. I was especially drawn to the pumpkin bulbasaur. I had to work on Friday and figured someone else would claim it. Later saw that it was still available so I reached out to Kevin, then came in the next day and scheduled the appt and put down my deposit. Kevin did a fantastic job and I'm happy with my unique Pokémon tattoo and absolutely love the colouring . Definitely plan to come back to get more work after the holidays pass. The shop is clean , laid back vibes. I'd recommend them to anyone looking for a new shop to check them out. read more

**I only give it four-stars because they only take cash and I really wanted to put it on my credit card lol, but they have an ATM in the store so it was easy to pull cash from** I had found out my great-grandmother passed away and I rushed straight to the tattoo shop to get a tattoo in memory of her. I saw some great reviews on the place so I called to make sure they took walk-in appointments and they did! The girl at the front desk was really sweet and she got me set up with Kevin! He worked with me on the price and I felt like he did great work! He really got what I wanted, even though it is really simple, it is the one tattoo on my body that now means the most to me in the world. I gave Kevin a reference and it was a VERY SIMPLE small design. I wanted it done in blue but he didn't think it would work with my skin tone. He said that using color would be an up charge for my skin. Never have I heard of a shop charging more based on skin color. They don't change the price for people with paler skin tones. The fee was waived in the end, but the price shouldn't change to begin with or even be mentioned especially due to skin color. It was only just that the prices remain the same for people of color. There was clear discrimination and after paying in cash I was told it was non-refundable. I tried to be optimistic since he waived the up charge and relax. I even tried making small talk with Kevin and joking with him but was shut down and met with sarcasm and silence. I felt like he was trying to make me feel uncomfortable because I called him out on the unfairness. He didn't even let the stencil dry completely to transfer onto my skin all the way so that he can properly and precisely trace the tattoo. Half of the stencil was faded...and he didn't care, he just went in. He was very heavy handed and I screamed and squirmed. He did not stop! I kept jolting because of the pain and cried out. He said, " can you hold still?" I attempted to respond with, "Can you slow down?" But he pressed the gun deeper in my skin that I couldn't finish my sentence or make out legible words. When he did finally pause, I cried out, "That's enough!" He went right back in on my wrist. He was purposefully trying to hurt me. The owner and the rest of the shop was laughing. They thought it was a big joke. This is not a right of passage, when someone tells you to stop, you stop. Even if my comments about the fairness and pricing offended Kevin, he had no right and no reason to retaliate and hurt me. When someone forcefully drags a needle across your skin, after you beg them to stop and they don't it is aggravated assault. I am a survivor of domestic violence, so the whole situation caused me to shut down. It was very traumatic. I couldn't do anything because if I moved I would've been scarred and I felt helpless. Instead of pacing and taking his time after realizing I was in pain, he sped up to get me out of his chair. Took him less than 10 minutes.. The lines were crooked and didn't connect properly. The circle wasn't even a circle. I left out just as quickly as he skimmed through my tattoo. I felt unwelcomed and I didn't complain to management directly after because the whole experience was triggering and they made feel like I was different. I'm totally bummed and I keep staring at it and crying. It's permanent. Total waste of $100. My FIRST tattoo and it looks nothing like how I wanted. And Kevin knew I didn't like it. I literally stared at it for 3 minutes straight after he wrapped it up. I should have called the police right after the incident. I should've had the police pull up the cameras and had Kevin arrested for assault at evening. Depressing. There were a lot of red flags and looking back at it I should've just listened to my gut instinct and left after he refused to do the tattoo in blue the way I originally wanted it, especially after Kevin's comments about charging me more because my skin. Me being an optimistic person I assumed that he still would've done a decent job. The owner's response to my original review was very dismissive, condescending and very unprofessional. So I decided to truthfully tell about my FULL experience there. No matter how nice you are, sadly some people are just prejudice. And I refuse to return and patron a shop whose owners are ok with how poorly their employees treat customers who look like me. I've already made appointments to get laser removal for this tattoo. A hard life lesson to trust your instinct. read more

DO NOT GO HERE FOR A REASONABLE PRICED TATTOO AND MAKE SURE YOU ARE GOING THERE TO PAY A SPECIFIC PRICE After businesses started opening back up from COVID I decided to get a big piece done on my arm. My end goal was a sleeve and I thought I found the right person to do it. His name is Jonathon and I believe he is the owner of the store. He said it would cost MAX 1200 to do my whole sleeve. I was fine paying a little over for good work. I got this done and he charged me $600 for an hour and a half of work.... it doesn't wrap around or anything. I thought that it would be apart of the overall sleeve price so I let it go and walked out. I called my fiancé and let him know and he said that's bs and I need to make sure it is included with the overall sleeve price. So I called the owner of the store and he said it was not. I have two other decent sized tattoo pieces and I should of made it very clear how much I was paying. He completely swindled me. $600 for an hour and a half of work for a piece that doesn't wrap around my arm at all. Not to mention I have small arms. If you are a women I wouldn't go here because it seems as if he talked down to me when I asked him to clarify. This place is overpriced. NOT TO MENTION that I said I wanted an ORIGINAL piece, I noticed that after he had done the same one two weeks before. This place is a joke. Go to another tattoo place. Additionally, the whole store was talking crap about someone who left their wallet on accident and then started talking about how lame and stupid it is to have flowers/ basic Pinterest tattoos done. I will never go here again. The money isn't a big deal to me, but the changing of pricing/ lack of effort in the drawing really pissed me off. read more

Once again...never disappointed. Husband and I had appointment with David this time and his work is excellent. Between us we have gotten tats by Jonathan, Kevin, Marcus, and now David. The workmanship at this studio is the best I've seen. The atmosphere is great and everyone there, even receptionists rock. They make you feel welcomed. LOVE THIS PLACE AND EVERYONE THERE. Since I was 18 years old I've stayed loyal to Hell or high water and I plan to stay that way. I've never came across another tattoo shop that functions any better than Jon and his employees. There's always a positive and homey vibe, no one and I mean no one leaves unsatisfied, and the inside environment of the shop is unreal when you walk in you almost want the shop as your home it's so strategically put together. I will always come here to get my tattoos because of the pricing the vibes and everything In general. Your truly missing out if you don't go visit Hell or High Water. read more
