Me and my wife went into the shop a few days ago was immediately greeted with someone super aggressive who goes by the name of (tommy). He had claimed to have tattooed for over 25 years but his work nor professionalism did not reflect it. He was loud and super uncomfortable to be around. Now a few days after the tattoos my wife tells me that a whole letter feel off while she was in the shower. I take a look at it and immediately see white meat and think infection. Both me and my wife have over 15 tattoos and we both know how to treat and take care of a tattoos. 10 out of 10 would not recommend. read more

My $550 belly button piercing. A story: I got my belly button pierced here a couple years ago and it was SUPER crooked. I remember the man that pierced me said that it was my fault for saying yes to the dot he made (gaslighting?) but he pierced in a slightly different direction. I hope he doesn't work there anymore. They offered to re-pierce for free (which was the right thing to do so two stars) but I refused to go back nor did I want 2 holes. It made me really self conscious for a while and I blamed myself but after talking to another piercer, I know it's 100% the og piercer's lack of knowledge of anatomy and piercings. I have since taken it out but am left with a (crooked) scar that I'm paying another $500 for surgical removal. So don't get body piercings here unless you know the piercer personally and know their work is good. Otherwise you'll be paying $550 for something you could've gone without. read more

The owner was very arrogant and yet the tattoos both healed horribly. My friend and I both have had problems so I know it wasn't just a me issue. They looked good at first... but we have had so many issues with them. And yes we have both been tattooed before. They healed so ugly. Maybe the ink was no good? My skin is still discolored/ bruised 3 months later, and it is very rare that I bruise. Either the ink he "made" was bad, or he just didn't know what he was doing. I though maybe he just isn't good tattooing on black skin... but when my friend said hers was doing terrible too, I knew that wasn't the only reason it turned out so bad. If he's going to be cocky, he could at least do a good job. read more

So I used to live in Clarksville about 2 years prior and only came back in town for vacation. I knew I wanted to get a tattoo and called around. Once I called in, I asked about availability and they told me to come in. The artist I met up with was Danny and we immediately got into discussing matters of size, color and things that would be needed to change in order for the tattoo to work out. At first it seemed hard to agree on size but I asked him to stencil it up and change what he thought was best so I could see. Once he was done he let me know that he had enlarged the teeth so that they wouldn't lose it's details in the future and that was it! I loved it! Once we were finished with the outline, Danny was so nice enough to inform me that certain colors would not show up too well on my skin tone. He reiterated this heavily for awhile before he continued with purples and blues. THE BEST PART of getting this tattoo done was that regardless of his heavy advice I still knew I wanted to blue and purple. Danny gave me what I WANTED in the end. I knew the risks and he advised me well but was so amazing to still give me what I wanted!!!! The tattoo came out beautifully and made me so proud of him! I definitely recommend this shop because we all sat there and had the greatest laughs and conversations too! Thank you so much for the experience! I also want it to be known that the tattoo originated from an image off of a box of playing cards and it was less than 2 inches small! So the fact that he got it enlarged and drawn perfectly is a plus too!!! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would! This place is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!! I reached out to Riff via Facebook to get a price quote. I sent him pictures of what I wanted and everything. He told me that he couldn't give me a quote unless I come in, in person after 5. So I said ok. He asked what time would I be coming in and I said at 6. So, I get there at 6, I was a little annoyed, because the atmosphere was very unprofessional, the guy that first greeted me was rude and kept asking me what I wanted. I kept telling him I don't know I just have some ideas and I want to create a tattoo from the pictures I sent. They also were playing explicit music. I know it's a tattoo parlor, but it is also still a place of business. So, I overlooked all of that. Then Riff comes out and he's sweeping and mopping the floors, nothing wrong with that, but I told him I would be there a 6, he didn't get finished with sweeping and mopping until 6:20ish(no respect of other people's time). If you know someone is coming at 6 and you agreed to it, why not sweep and mop before they get there?? So, 6:20ish he finally asks me about what I envisioned. He seemed nice at first trying to get a feel of what I wanted, so he goes to the back and stays for quite some time. I thought it was strange that it would take so much time for him to give me a quote, but I patiently waited. He finally comes from the back with a sketch that he drew. Mind you I only wanted a quote that day and I was clear about what I wanted via Facebook Messenger before arriving. He had it in his mind for some strange reason that I wanted the tattoo that day. He begins to get an attitude with me, because I reminded him all I wanted was a QUOTE! So, he goes on to tell me about a conversation that we never had and thinks he told me, but never did. I was still trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. So, I was like, I'll make an appointment for Monday and asked him to send me the sketch so I could make some tweaks. I was not pleased with the sketch, but me being the person I am, I was trying to spare his feelings. He informed me that I would have to put up a 40 deposit in order to schedule an appointment. I reluctantly agreed, paid the 40 and left. After a couple of reminders about sending me the sketch so I could tweak it, he still hadn't sent it. He made up a bogus excuse, with no apology. At this point I'm fed up and I decide that I do not want to do business with this so called company. I then asked for a refund of my deposit. At first he said that it was nonrefundable. Then when I reminded him yet again that all I asked for was a QUOTE. After going back and forth a few minutes he agreed to give me the refund. When I get to the shop, he decides he wants to loud talk me in front of his customers about what we already discussed via Facebook and agreed on. I have no words for this despicably unprofessional company. If you are looking for a professional tattoo shop you may want to bypass this place. If I could post an attachment I would post our conversation, so everyone could see that we NEVER discussed ANYTHING, but me wanting to get a QUOTE! read more

Black Kat Tattoo ruined my life... I knew the place was trouble as soon as I walked in, just from the beard-to-face ratio alone. Everyone in there looks like some beastly combination of Viking Lumberjack. Except of course for the two female apprentices who I would assume were only there to soften the place up, if it weren't for their own original and creative artistic stylings. Marcus McQuillan and Matt Monroe... these two have more years tattooing than I have been alive. Just who do these guys think they are??? With all their experience and whatnot? Not to mention their numerous awards and amazing traditional style that would make Sailor Jerry himself shed tears of joy. Jeez. Enough already. Now to the head honcho himself... Steve "Riff Raff" Cherry. With his cherubic face and head full of angelic curls, what better name would suit him than Riff Raff? None. Not only is this guy a great tattooer, working with, and in my opinion overshadowing some of Clarksville's best, but he's also a super chill and fun-loving person. What a dick. I first walked into the shop in March for a simple dolphin tattoo on my ankle, and here I am more than six months later with most of my limbs now covered in what I could only call beautiful masterpieces of body artistry. Lines as thick and black as... well, let's just say they're thick and black. And colors as bright and vibrant as a unicorn running in slow motion across a sunset in outer space. I can no longer go out in public wearing shorts and a t-shirt without garnering looks and awes from the general public. The elderly cower in fear. Parents hide their children behind them. Young ladies' panties instantly fall to the ground. Dogs bark. Cats meow. I can't even begin to describe how difficult it is to live in this state of perpetual wonder and admiration. But I can't stop. If anybody else wants their lives ruined by incredibly astonishing tattooers giving amazingly aesthetic and fairly priced tattoos, then Black Kat Tattoo is where you want to go, because they will ruin your life. read more

I walked in with my sister to get get a tattoo, it was like my ninth tattoo so not exactly my first go around. It took about two hours for the design to get drawn up, which was fine and I was happy with the design. During the whole tattoo it looked like the artist was having trouble with his machine so when he swapped them out, I didn't notice that he also swapped the needle to a shading needle. I hadn't wanted any kind of shading what so ever in this piece, and had stated that at the beginning of the experience. Once I felt the shading needle I though he was just shading the leaves of the tattoo which I would have been fine with so I didn't say anything because I figured he knew what he was doing. After a little bit I realized that he was heavily shading the whole thing and we had reached a point of not return. At the end of the tattoo I was extremely unhappy with the end result, the dainty transparent flowers I asked for were now black. In fairness I will say that the line work was good, and the design was correct. But I asked why he shaded the flowers and he said it was the only way to cover a mistake he made from me apparently flinching. I get that if I flinched a mistake is possible but he never said anything about the mistake until the very end of the tattoo, I would have so much rather lived with the line work mistake then the heavy shading I now have to deal with. I get that I could have spoken up faster, but then I would have had a half shaded tattoo which I felt would be even worse. Overall a huge lack of communication from the artist and not owning up to a mistake when it happened are huge issues for me. The owner said he would take a look and try to fix it if I came back which I appreciated, but when I tried to schedule that he gave me two days to choose from and I said I could do either and then he never responded to which day I should come in. So when I called a few days later to follow up another employee answered the phone and I asked for the owner and when he brought him the phone the employee asked the owner if he had a minute and I could hear him say "No I have shit to do" but then he got on the phone anyway. He proceeded to tell me that it was basically my fault I didn't come on either of those days even though he never told me a time to come in, and then decided that condescendingly calling me "sweetheart" was the right choice. This shop comes off as nice and like they do good work, but they seriously shit talk so much and it's not worth it at all to go there. I do not recommend for anyone to go there, because there are so many other great shops in the area you could go to, and that I will go to next time. With all of my other tattoos I have always been told by the artist what was going on when I couldn't see the piece, but this guys lack of communication that he was going to shade because he thought it was the only way to cover a mistake was deceiving, and the owners handling of the situation piss poor. I will be going somewhere else knowing that I will have to pay way more to get it fixed because I no longer trust or have any respect for the guys at this shop. Don't be fooled by the good reviews on this place, and take the negative ones seriously or you could end up with a tattoo you hate too. read more

My initial experience for Microblading went smoothly, I had no trouble setting up an appointment. When it was time to schedule the complimentary 6 week touch-up, I conveniently could not get in touch. Both my calls and texts went unreturned. I live 4 hours away from Charolette and I was in town for New Years Weekend. Her Instagram posts said she was taking appointments and walk-ins, but of course she was "booked" when it came to my service. I let the first time go. Three weeks later, I decide to schedule an appointment via her online scheduler since my calls and texts were still not being returned. I get to my appointment today, January 20th at 2:00PM, and nobody is at the shop! On my second call, she finally answers and says the appointment didn't show up on her end and she was out of town for the weekend. Interesting, you would think that if you were really out of town you wouldn't have your online scheduler accepting appointments? I hate to write a bad review, but if someone is willing to drive 4 hours for your services you could at least try to be a little accommodating. I can guarantee if I were getting a tattoo and not my 6-week touch up that is complimentary (even though you actually pay for it in the original price) she would have worked me in. I could not in good faith recommend her services to someone, especially if you are coming from out of town! read more
