One of the hardest tasks when moving to a new town is finding a hairstylist you like. After trying 5 or 6 when we moved to Savannah, I finally called Hello Gorgeous to see what hair color brand they used. Joel answered the phone and told me they use Goldwell products; (one of the best but more expensive products), so I made an appointment. With thick, curly hair, Joel cut, colored, and styled my hair professionally and expertly, all for much less than I was used to paying. I've been going to Joel at Hello Gorgeous for 8 years now and hope never to have to break in another hairstylist for the rest of my life! Long live Joel!! read more

....no; just no. I just went there just to pick up a product that might help tame my fuzzy hair in the humid south Georgia climate. I had called to confirm they had it. The stylist was called up to the front and told me point blank that I was too old to wear my hair that long. I get many compliments on my hair thank you very much. I just didn't like how it tended to frizz in the humidity. By the time I left the salon, he had me almost in tears. I'm kind of embarrassed to admit that this small man affected me this much. Maybe this is how he convinces women that they NEEED his help to improve their style. By the way, L'Oreal's Wonder Water is terrific for helping tame the frizz of my long hair. It's available online or at the drugstore. It was that simple. And I won't let anybody try to convince me that Im too old to wear my hair whichever way *I* like. read more

When visiting this Salon you will feel as if you are a Princess and/or a Movie Star, and you'll be treated like a V.I.P. From the moment you park, they have "Parking for Princesses". Once you enter the salon, someone is awaiting you with a greeting and your cape. You'll be offered a beverage (if not ask). The atmosphere is amazing! I loved the colors, furniture and decor. Joel did my hair and was a character. He will definitely have something entertaining to talk about while doing your hair. Make sure you book the extra time in your appointment for the conversation. It makes for good therapy! Lots of laughs. Joel worked some magic on my hair using the Keratin product. I can't believe how much time I am going to save by not having to spend so much time on my hair each day. My hair is normally thick, very coarse, and very dry. I went to the Hello Gorgeous Salon and had my eyelash extensions done by Kaela. I just moved to the area and have been waiting to find a new lash artist. I can't believe how lucky I am to have found her on the first try! She is kind, professional, funny, reasonably priced (quality products are worth it) and EXTREMELY talented! Her technique is amazing and she makes you feel very comfortable! So comfortable you'll pass out while she's making your lashes BOMB! She's fantastic! I really like the people at the salon and debated about updating my review. However, I know I rely on Yelp reviews to get the best service. When I originally went here Joel did an amazing job. Then after a few visits it started to become hit or miss. While in Dallas for business I went to a salon and was told the back of my head was orange :/ but I have blond hair. The lowlights I had were almost black and inconsistent. When Joel foiled my hair, the ends of other pieces of hair got caught in the foil. So I had lowlights in only half strands of my hair. If the stylist didn't take pictures and show me I wouldn't have believed how bad my hair looked. I didn't go back or contact Joel. There is no way he didn't know what the back looked like. This is so disappointing because like I said I really like the people here :( I am from California and was really worried about finding a salon that could do my hair. I am not a Supercuts kind of girl and needed someone who knew how to color and cut hair.....plus I am really picky. My stylist in California recommend Joel. He informed me Joel was great at what he did, has a lot of experience and he has won a lot of awards. If my stylist in California was recommending Joel then I knew he had to be good. WOW!! Not only is he fabulous but he is friendly!!! I have been to many salons in my hunt to find the perfect stylist and Joel has exceeded my expectations. He listens to what I had to say and he has a knack for seeing what will look good. He doesn't push what he wants to do. I would definitely recommend him to anyone. From the minute that I called to make an appointment with this salon, it was a great experience. I was able to get an appointment for the following morning for a manicure and pedicure. I was greeted warmly upon arrival and offered a cup of coffee then was lead into the pedicure room. Ursula was fabulous and I want to return again and again. Everyone in the salon was warm, welcoming and chatty in a pleasant way. I had a great manicure and pedicure and learned that it is a full service salon with hair cutting and styling and waxing.
