Over the weekend I unwittingly downloaded unwanted software and it had a negative effect on my laptop. I came across Geekatoo on this site and decided to give them a call. Because the line was busy at the time, I liked that there was an option on their phone line to request a call back. I didn't have to wait long for the call back which was about 15 minutes. The gentleman I spoke to on the phone was very gracious and helpful and he told me that one of the tech guys would call me to make an appointment to come by my home to look at my computer. He said it would be a day or two but I received a call from Mark to make an appointment within 10-15 minutes. I was impressed. Mark arrived right on schedule at six in the evening. It only took about 45 minutes for him to resolve the issues on my laptop. He gave me some great suggestions on caring for my laptop from what kind of spyware/malware software to use to making an appointment to have my laptop cleaned. I like that I was able to get in home service within a few days since my laptop troubles began and the service that was provided. I thought the cost was reasonable. I definitely will be using Geekatoo in the future whenever I have issues with my computer. read more

4 separate scheduled "appointments" for service cancelled about 30 minutes before hand. This is by far the worst, least professional company I have ever attempted to work with. After the cancelled appointments and being jerked around for a week and a half, I still wasn't able to get my issues resolved and had to go to another company. If you have been forced to work with HelloTech by Xfinity, you are better off cancelling Xfinity and setting up with another ISP. Absolute disgrace. read more

Hired this company, HelloTech to install a SimpliSafe alarm. The tech arrived, mentioned he "was in a hurry, and needed to knock the job out quick. Even asked if I could assist him in unboxing and connecting all via my iPhone. He proceeded to install two door sensors. Then got to a window. He could not get the sensor to stick, so he decided to drill. He drilled a hole into the window frame and the window glass immediately cracked all the way across. He asked if he'd like me to proceed. Declined and told him this job is done and would like to terminate. Also, asked him to file an incident report of the damaged. He asked me to just do it all via email. Again, I declined and asked him to file the report while still on site and on speaker phone. Very unprofessional and unequipped to do a simple job and task. Did not even apologize for the damages he caused. Now the fun part, getting my property repaired back to original form. A brand new home! They have been extremely unresponsive and is tracking towards a date in small claims. Also, spreading the word about how horrible and unprofessional this experience has been. Proceed with caution with HelloTech. They don't care that they damaged our brand new home. Nor respond to several calls, emails and chats. Stay far away and hire a company or individual with better practices. Overall experience a 0 of 10. read more

Scheduled service to get my TV mounted on the wall. The tech no-showed, and I had to contact their support team multiple times to figure out what was going on. An hour goes by, still, no word from the tech and the support team is just "escalating it." And to top it all off, their online portal doesn't update so I'm charged for the service. Support tells me the refund will take 3-7 days to go through. For a tech that never showed up, never contacted me, and I was offered no solutions from HelloTech - I had to contact them myself multiple times. Terrible first experience with this company, and overall terrible customer experience. Just use a local service instead. read more

Mark was our tech. He came into our home making inappropriate comments right away and throughout his time here. He used our bathroom and left urine on our seat, he went into our kitchen to wash his hands, he was nosy and went looking into rooms he shouldn't be poking around into, he wasn't focused fully on his job, he ruined our dry wall smearing it, which was unnecessary. Hello Tech started charging me a $14.99 monthly membership against my authorization after I paid them to install a TV bracket in my house. This went on for three months. I tried calling their number, waited for a half hour while listening to their annoying hold music, then I was told "our billing office will be in contact with you" . Still not resolved. Made an appointment for 9 AM. The tech person showed up to my house at 8:45. Waited five minutes and then left. Never rang the doorbell. Never knocked on the door. He left a service note saying no one was home. He did this nine minutes before my appointment was supposed to start. they were rescheduled and never showed up. I scheduled in-home service; I provided a prefered three-hour window; HelloTech schedule me for the last hour requested; 10 minutes after the scheduled appointment time, HelloTech texted me to say the assigned technician was no longer available (again 10 minutes after the scheduled appointment start time) - and "we'll contact you as soon as we have an update." What does that mean? You'll contact me with in an hour, a day, week? I too have a schedule, HelloTech. Needless to say, not great service. And yes, I cancelled the appointment. I actually rate them at zero stars because they never showed up. They cancelled my first appointment then I made a second appointment the same day and they didn't show up for that either. Oh and did I mention that I took the day off of work in order for them to do their work? They were originally going to show up from 12-4, then the 2nd time at 6 but nothing. I called and complained and requested to speak to a manager. They said a manager would most likely call me back in 24-48 hours. Now that is bad service. Don't go with this company!!!!!! Find another before your screwed out of money. i ordered the service on 3/14. they took their payment immediately and then told me they didn't have anyone one in my area. i called for a refund. they gave it all back but the $19.99 membership fee. I have called 6 times to get my $19.99 back. they put me on hold and say they are trying to get ahold of billing. they refuse to refund my $19.99. Purchased their year plan. Then they told me they could not supply a technician in my area. I then asked for a refund on the year plan. They only sent back 1/3 of the amount. I have called and called. I get no response from them at all. As far as I am concerned they scammed me for $100 and are just counting on me giving up trying to get it back. read more

I booked a technician to help with an OS reset on my computer. When booking online, the Hellotech rep convinced me to sign up for the Blue Support plan, since it was basically the same cost as 1 visit and offered annual protection. After requesting a Friday morning appointment, the tech contacted me to say he wasn't available then, and would Friday afternoon work? That happened to work for me, but when I mentioned my issue he said he wouldn't be able to solve the issue and I'd need to send the PC off for repair. I then cancelled the appointment, but my order for the Blue Support Plan went through. I have tried twice to cancel, but have been unable to get a representative from HelloTech to contact me. I have tried chatting with their reps on their site, but they don't respond when I say I want to cancel my support plan. I have submitted a request for them to contact me through their site, but have yet to be contacted. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR ANY RECURRING BILLING WITH THEM! Please be aware of HelloTech automatically signing people up for their online support plans and hoping that their customer won't notice or questions the monthly charges. Who gets 24/7 support for on TV mounting installation. Good luck on contacting them too because they will disconnect/end your chat session when questioning why did the company sign up their customer for the 24/7 online support plan for $99 for a year. Oh! Their won't site won't even allow you to cancel the plan, you will get a message to disable "auto renew" to cancel after the one year plan is up. There's no way delete your credit card information from their website either... Now I have to contact my credit card company regarding these unauthorized charges and making sure that will not be any more charges. read more

When my computer suddenly stopped working, I was relieved to find support from a company that makes house calls. As a senior citizen, it is not easy for me to transport a heavy computer tower to drop it off somewhere and then have to go back and pick it up. The technician was very helpful by presenting several options and made the process simple and painless. read more
