Not only do they have an abundance of food,…read moremeats, cheeses, yogurts, and fresh produce, they are super super nice and go out of their way to work with you. I have dealt with most of the people at the food bank, and they really care about the community and feeding the community. A superb bunch of people. It was my first time volunteering at St. Peter's Kitchen and found it to be a very fun and…read morerewarding experience. I helped them receive and organize donated food from a supermarket, assisted them with preparing lunch, and washed trays. St. Peter's provides a delicious and nutritional lunch to hundreds of people each week day at no cost to those who are in need. The menu of the day included roasted turkey or ham, a tossed salad, macaroni and cheese, steamed broccoli, pie and a fruit cup; all served with coffee or juice. Everything was extremely fresh and delicious. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient and the food preparation facility was very clean and sanitary throughout. It's quite an amazing feat for them to whip up 200 or so wholesome lunches using donated food each day. Guests were also welcome to take home canned or packaged food from the neighbors table, along with fresh bread and their choice of a pastry that was donated by one of our generous local grocery stores. It was an enjoyable time for me and I hope to be back again soon to lend a hand. It was a pleasure meeting another family that was also donating their time. It's nice to know that St Peter's Kitchen is there for our community. Grateful too for the generosity of those who donated the food.
