Simply the best. Get them to handle your move if you can! My parents lived in Estero, and needed to move to the Washington, DC area. I live in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and came down to Florida to help with the project. The reason for the move was a serious health concern, and my Mom and Dad needed to be closer to family. The decision to relocate was made very suddenly, so we really had to hustle to make it all happen. By the time I contacted Diana at Helping Hand, my Mom was quite ill. Patrick came to their house to size up the job, and immediately charmed my mother, putting a smile on the face of a woman who had many reasons to frown. Confidence in his service came immediately, which is great, but Patrick's uniquely Irish way gave my Mom a lot more than that. We shared a few laughs along the way, talked about Ireland (Mom is an O'Connell), and enjoyed making one another's acquaintance. It was as though we made a new friend, which is probably an experience my Mom thought she'd never have again. Throughout her life, Mom always had multiple "projects" going, the goals of which related to taking care of her loved ones. Moving to DC was to be her last; she needed to make sure my Dad had a decent place to live after she departed, and she needed to make sure he got there safely. Though the real aim was for both of them to live in the new apartment in Silver Spring, Mom never made it. She passed knowing that Dad was moved in, and that's what gave her the comfort to let go peacefully. We are certainly not the first family to relocate because of a crisis. I imagine almost all moves happen because of a major change of some sort, some good and some bad: marriage, divorce, an expanding family, death, new job, new relationship, new beginning, further education, etc., and psychology enters into the equation. That's where Patrick and Diana rise above the rest. Yes, they moved everything without so much as a scratch. Yes, they did it quickly and efficiently. When Patrick came up a little short on space, he quietly stepped out to pick up a trailer that would carry the extra belongings, with no complaint or concern. They delivered the goods exactly on time, and even took the time to help arrange the furniture, despite the fact that they had to catch a late afternoon flight back to Florida. Fantastic !!! I needed help moving antique furniture in the fall of 2016 and asked the manager of my local Public Storage for a recommendation and he suggested I call Patrick at Helping Hand. Patrick and his wife Diana operate Helping Hand Movers in Naples, Florida It turned out to be a great piece of advice and I was so pleased with the small job they did for me I have used them a total of 5 times to date. It is now late winter 2017 and I have asked them to help with both large and small projects and had a positive experience each time. It doesn't seem to matter if you need one man with a pickup truck or 6 men with large trucks they are able to handle heavy lifting all day with a great attitude while remaining polite and respectful. The crew are all clean cut, energetic young guys who are fit enough to maintain a brisk work pace all day. Patrick's crew have helped me by moving fragile and expensive antiques in both Bonita Springs and in old Naples. These guys are all great to work with and I strongly recommend contacting them for your local moving needs. I have only used this outfit for moving fragile antiques and some of the pieces including a piano were fairly heavy, but after watching them at work I feel certain they could handle transporting anything locally with good results including office fixtures and commercial equipment as well as household items! Helping Hand turns out to be a good value along with everything else! I always get at least 3 estimates when I hire service providers and their prices are highly competitive! We traveled to Naples from California to sell my our condo and store some of our furniture and sentimental, and rather expensive personal belongings. We had absolutely no idea who to contact for movers. Patrick and his team from Helping Hand Movers were recommend to us and we contacted them hoping they would do a good job. The first indication that this was going to be a positive experience was our telephone conversation to schedule the move. We had a very tight schedule and they went out of their way to accommodate us...even by volunteering to move us on Sunday. They were very thorough in getting the necessary information regarding our move over the phone so there were no surprises. The second indication that we scheduled the right company was when they arrived at the scheduled time, jumped out of their trucks, called us by name, shook our hands and said lets get to work. Patrick and his team were extremely sensitive to our needs when we explained that we were moving our late father's belongings and that this was a difficult time for us. They were so professional, personable and really took their time to listen as my husband told them the history of nearly each piece of furniture. They packed everything carefully, as if it were their own. When they left, again they called us by name and thanked US for the business. It was us who should be thanking them. I was thoroughly impressed with the service I received from Helping Hand Movers. My parents are in the process of becoming snow birds and were driving down from Canada with some of their things in a U-Hual. My sisters and I wanted to hire movers to lessen the stress and physical strain on them. We decided it would be nice to surprise them with help in Florida. I researched a ton and after speaking with Diana knew it was the right fit. It wasn't a big job but Diana took the time to go over everything with me. She communicates very well and I was able to set up the "move". She had 2 guys meet my parents at their house (they were on time and professional) to unload their U-Haul. I was able to do all of this over the phone as I live in CA. She took payment after the job was done over the phone. My family has moved quite a bit (Internationally as well) and my parents were so happy with Helping Hands that they are going to hire them again when they go down next with more of their things. Since my parents were driving they weren't 100% sure when exactly they would be arriving. It was no problem at all. Diana just had me call them when we had a better idea. My parents arrived a day early and late in the afternoon and she still was able to accommodate them. I like that I always spoke to the same person (Diana) when it came to coordinating and that I wasn't just a number having to navigate through an automated system. Moving is stressful. Our family has used Helping Hand Movers on six moves including moving in and out of an assisted living community, apartment, home and storage units. We completely trust them with our belongings. They were so kind to my mother during an emotional move and very patient. During one move they removed all of my items from one storage unit into another one and arranged it so I would have a comfortable place to sit and go through things in the future. During another move they came on a Sunday because it was an unplanned emergency move of a roommate's belongings or my son would have had to pay for another months rent and late move out fees etc.. During the pandemic they kept their masks on the entire time even though it was a very hot both inside and outside (Summer in Southwest Florida!) During one move they rearranged the contents of a storage unit so I would be able to keep the same unit, even though it required stacking boxes very high and a lot of creative maneuvers . They truly care. I only wish that I could find the hard working, respectful ,professional caring and helpful attitude that is present in the Helping Hand Movers in all areas of life. Fantastic all the way around-- from Diana who scheduled our move, helped us weigh the pros and cons & costs regarding loading & driving a truck to New England (in January), vs having a portable moving container delivered. She and Patrick were very easy and nice to work with. We also appreciate the care the two movers took with my Mom's possessions and how they made my Mom feel at ease.They were courteous and conscientious. They did not rush but they did not waste time. They were careful to load last, the items we wanted to off-load first, and double checked on a few boxes that were not were not clearly marked. The day before the move, we had bubble-wrapped the framed art and large mirrors, but there were still a number of pieces the moving team took upon themselves to protect with our rolls of plastic stretch wrap we had on hand. I would recommend highly having ample packaging materials on hand for the Helping Hands movers to wrap and pack for you. They did a really great job. I also checked this company out on Angie's list before hiring them and noted they had excellent reviews. Patrick and his wife, Diana run a family owned and operated moving company business and treat you with that kind of personal and excellent service. You can have Patrick and his men do the entire move including packing, or have Patrick come to your home to estimate what you will need for your packing and storage needs. In other words, the company will do as little or as much as you want them to do for your move. They are professional, reliable and honest. With Patrick's guidance for our recent move out, we ordered the moving materials and the size pod we needed for our outside furniture and garage contents, and did all that on our own time and at our own pace. We also packed the contents of our entire house in boxes and moving equipment that Patrick recommended and on moving day, Patrick and his crew moved the entire contents of our house into 2 storage units....including our baby grand piano. Moving day was a long, full day of work by these men....early morning to late night. Well if you read my previous review of the first moving company I used and was horrified at damage to my home and property this is the polar opposite!!! This company is professional prompt and their workers are courteous!! They paid attention when I told them I had heavy pieces and sent three men which is what it required!!! They wrapped my pieces of furniture and they seemed equally upset as they pulled things out and very discouraged with the way I had been treated and the way things had been stacked and improperly protected! They let me look at each one they wanted to make sure I saw what happened to my furniture during previous disaster of a move!! These guy's are awesome!! I made my deposit by credit card I promptly received my receipt when I paid the final bill I promptly received my receipt via email! One of the gentleman said it's situations like this that make us (moving companies) all look bad. I'm really sorry for what you had to go through!! Helping Hand Movers emptied my POD when I retired to Naples in the fall of 2017. They were on time and never stopped! Cheerfully, they carried in box after box and placed each with care in the appropriate room. Furnishings were placed with similar care and even re-arranged with a smile. A week ago, my brother and I cleared out a storage locker full of our mother's things we had shipped from PA seven years ago after her death. Some of the boxes needed to be moved to my home so we could clear the unit out. I remembered the great experience I had with Helping Hand, so they were the first call I made. Diane scheduled the appointment with me and worked out a special rate, as there wasn't much to move, which I greatly appreciated. It has been almost 2 months since Patrick, Nathan and Sam handled our move to a storage unit. The delay in writing this review falls directly on my shoulders as I have been very busy with details of our new home being built. These 3 gentlemen showed up promptly at 8:30AM, assessed the situation and got to it immediately. Since we are putting all these items in storage, they thoroughly wrapped everything in moving blankets and plastic. I think they took a drink of water occasionally and maybe a bathroom break, but, otherwise worked non-stop until the truck was loaded at 4:30PM. They grabbed a sandwich at Publix and met us at the storage unit at about 5:15PM. Again, they worked non-stop until the last piece was carefully placed in the storage unit at 7:30PM. All 3 guys were polite and carried themselves very well. They were just fantastic all the way around. They will be moving our stuff to the new house upon completion. We needed help moving a Sleep Number bed, 2 washer/ dryer sets and a few other pieces from one house to another and Helping Hands was recommended to us. I'm am so grateful to have been made aware of this great company! Patrick and Johnny arrived 5 minutes early, were friendly and ready to go to work. I was amazed by the extra care that they took in wrapping and protecting even the items that most would deem unnecessary. My husband had 3 antique slot machines (heavy!) moved and the fellows wrapped them up like babies! Also my beloved Sleep Number bed and adjustable base was carefully disassembled, moved and reassembled perfectly. Sleep Number customer service charged for disassembling, a separate charge to reassemble and would not move the bed at all! I hired Helping Hand Movers to help me unload 7 ft of an ABF trailer into my storage unit and condo. Being new in town, I relied on my fellow Yelper's and was not disappointed! My trailer had an open time window for delivery to the storage facility and Helping Hands dispatch was very accommodating with scheduling. Once we got that worked out, Patrick and his helper showed up on time with a moving truck and got right to work. I had to look at every box coming off the trailer to determine whether it went to storage or the condo. Again, they were patient and accommodating. The boxes that went into the storage unit were neatly stacked and arranged. We then drove to the condo where they unloaded the truck with the boxes that were staying. I was worried about going over the three hour minimum, but this was all done in under three hours. Patrick takes a lot of pride in his work and it shows. We are writing to say that Helping Hand Movers is a 5 star company. They are truly a family run business that treats its clients like members of the family. We presented them with an unusually difficult situation. About a week before the move, the rental that we were moving into was sold and no longer available. Our backup option was to put our furniture in storage and go back up North until next season. The day before the move we found another rental. The lease had some problems and we could not sign until the middle of moving day after the truck was packed. It was a stressful situation since even as they packed it was not certain whether the furniture would be going to storage or to the new rental. Fortunately we worked out the rental issues. Through it all we were treated with the utmost understanding and patience by Patrick and his wife. During my annual trip home to England I discovered my Dad was ill and my parents would not be returning to Florida, it was decided I would buy their home in a building adjacent to mine. I contacted Diana and Patrick to assist with my unique move, blending two homes in adjacent buildings, so that I could live in one and put the other on the market as a turnkey sale. In a time of much stress for my family Diana was able to assure me that my requirements would be met and no need to worry. The move required no truck, Patrick and his guys were SO PATIENT with me dealing with some furniture that stayed in place, some moved within the home and some moved next door. The move was completed in a timely manner, Patrick even took apart a Phantom screen on my front door so they could get the couch out and then put it back together, he couldn't have done more. I just had this company pack a 22' Penske truck to go to Virginia from Florida. Steve was the worst. He never protected any of the remaining furniture that I had not already blanketed and shrink wrapped before he arrived with the blankets and shrink wrap I provided, he loaded way too heavy boxes on top of light boxes and bins, so they were all crushed, and he never used any ropes that I provided to secure the load so everything shifted all over the place and I have furniture all scraped up and bins completely destroyed. NO WAY let their guy Steve near your truck. This is the worst damage I have ever had on a move and I have gone across country twice. Patrick the owner is nice, but he did not send me an experienced guy even though the guy said he was very experienced. Steve was in such a hurry to get out of there that he just shoved it all in the truck unprotected and now I have to deal with all the damage. read more
