I called College Hunks on a Friday, after several local moving companies were not available, and I was able to schedule my move on Monday (I was actually offered next day service!). The job was a move from a 1 bedroom apt to another, within the same building, consisting of furniture plus boxes we packed ourselves. It was probably a relatively small job compared to other moves, but the hunks, Anthony and Jason, were very professional. They were respectful, responsible, careful and courteous. They texted and communicated prior to the move, arrived on time, were considerate of other tenants in the building hallways, and cleaned up as they worked. They also hauled away some of the furniture we could not take to the new apartment. The entire move was fast and efficient and only took 2 hours. I would highly recommend this company. I have used them twice and will call again in the future. read more

I needed a large entertainment center moved so I reached out to a few places. These guys were the only ones who could do it when I needed. We move almost every year and these guys by far are the best! They took care of our belongings like if were theirs, nothing got broken!!! I am very disappointed at the estimator that came out who completely underestimated the move leaving us with 1 truck short because they couldn't fit everything in the trucks brought and the price doubled at the end. College hunks had been recommended to me. I called up and told the operator what I thought was an appropriate description of what was being picked up. I had one item. The service rep told me that I would have 45 minutes of time to ask movers to do anything else. When I met with them (2) I was asked how big the tv cabinet was. Then I asked if they could take an extra couch, which is a sleeper sofa. When he saw it, he said that it was going to be more than the $125 that I had been quoted, just for the cabinet because he considered it an armoire. He called his boss and I was charged $149 for them to take only the cabinet away. I was never asked if I had anything else, which I did. Very disappointed with experience. read more

This company also donates to charities when they haul things,, and when you schedule a move they donate a portion to fight world hunger. If I could give a zero rating I would. They sign you up for a furniture pick up donation and NEVER REVEAL once during the conversation that there is a charge; for a sofa, to the tune of a $130. The biggest SCAM going. One employee hung up on me because during my call I'm trying to write them a check. The other employee ( supervisor .. Won't use again. Adam and Matt were great: arrived on time, efficient, polite, etc. I was quoted on the phone $109 to move a king bed mattress, mattress cover and frame. Yes I was told it could go higher when they saw what I needed moved. What they saw was exactly what I said on the phone when I scheduled the appt. Yes I was told I could just send them away if I did not like the final quote. But I was in a bind and needed it moved that day. They wanted to charge me $249! Yes you read correctly; $249. An increase of 128%. We finally agreed to $219. But still a total ripoff. With technology what it is, you would think they could come closer to quoting an actual and/or fair price when you are clear about what needs to be moved. Although I chose to pay under the circumstances, but you can bet they will NEVER get my business again. Nor will I recommend them to family or friends! read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. 3 guys showed up to move our stuff into our house and they were VERY unprofessional, they did not have any necessary tools you would expect a moving company to have such as a dolly, mattress protectors and door stoppers. They were not careful with our items and even scratched some of our 10% wood furniture. We fired them in the middle of our move. And hired much better mooovers. Buyer Beware! We called the College Hunks and requested the removal of a couch and love seat from a condo unit. My husband was on the phone with them for over 5 minutes and repeated multiple times it was a couch and love seat. They did not ask dimensions but both pieces are standard sized. He was quoted a price of "around $89.00" for the job. When they arrived yesterday and the 2 workers came in, my husband shared the $89.00 quote with them. He was told, "We can't do it for $89" and was charged $209.00. The rate was based on cubic feet he was told, not the number of pieces. When quote was given, no one mentioned this, asked dimensions, etc. Talk about a "bait and switch". Husband paid the fee as we have new furniture arriving and he had driven 40 minutes to condo for the pieces to be taken away. I feel we were definitely taken advantage of and I can not recommend this company at all. BEWARE! read more

Fast professional uniformed men responded to a same day request for removal of a large wall unit in my condo. They were more reasonably priced than other junk removal services. And I appreciated that they would first try to donate the item to Goodwill before disposing of it. Highly recommend this new company. read more
