Amazing shelter with such caring staff. When we adopted our second dog, we had concerns about making sure she and our first dog would get along and be happy living and playing together. The staff at helping hounds worked with us and our dog to find the perfect addition to our family! Our two dogs are best friends!

Let's get some things down, It is a great shelter that cares about dogs. Do not believe the 1, 2 and 3 star reviews they just are mad they did not get a dog or that it did not work out. My family got a dog from them and he is great he live's up to what they said about him and better.People there were very nice. GREAT place to get a dog.

We got this happy healthy dog from Helping Hounds. We were able to talk with her foster in Texas and they had a good amount of info on her in terms of her behaviors, training, and personality. The staff was kind and helpful through the whole process. We will likely get a second dog from there soon!

Overall, I am stoked with my thrift store finds. The workers up front weren't particularly attentive. Their customer service skills were a 6 out of 10. The place has a ton of shoes and everything is nicely organized by color (including the plates/house ware section). There is a ton of clothes and some art, children's games, and lots of chairs. There is a large parking lot and they accept donations as well.

Many of my favorite pieces of clothing have come from this particular store. Also, there is a large assortment of housewares and, depending upon what is available, sometimes a large assortment of furniture. We needed several folding chairs for a family event and I went in weekly until I had the number of chairs that we needed. As with my clothing purchases, some of my favorite furniture items (bedroom dressers in particular) and housewares are from the Salvation Army. Although I am not an antique collector per se, I've seen some great vintage furniture and houseware itms for sale. As for the cleanliness of the store - well, these are donated items so not everything is sparkling! The long-time employees are friendly and engaging; some of the newer ones may not have acquired the skills to work in a retail environment - which is the case in even upscale retail stores as well. So I recommend a trip to the Salvation Army - even without a planned purchase in mind. You have to factor in enough time to look around. You never know...

The Syracuse, NY location is bigger than the one in Concord, North Carolina. They moved and we have been to that one to trade in and shop as well. Syracuse is very organized, well stocked, with plenty of variety from newborn up. Prices are very reasonable and they have special price days for specific items. There are plenty of friendly, helpful staff to assist in locating what you are looking for. Lightly used clothing, shoes, accessories, toys, and more. I still shop here and ship to them. The savings are more than the postage. Great place!

As a seller, I left with what I can only describe as a bad feeling. I brought in six bags full of clothing and a pack n play. After a few hours, I was alerted that they were ready to settle up. When I returned to the store, one of the workers brought out a bin with a small stack of my clothing and told me their offer. This person then explained why they weren't taking more of my items, but it seemed as if they were reading from a script and I felt like I was being lectured to because of the tone that was used. The pack n play was taken out of its bag and not packed back up properly. I should add that I went to the store with my baby in a stroller. I struggled to grab all 6 bags, the pack n play, and wheel the stroller out of the store and all the employees just watched me. No one even offered to open the door for me.
