This practice consists of a few permanent Doctors and many, many Interns. The few permanent Doctors also practice at the adjacent JFK hospital, thus why this is called JFK Faculty Practice. These doctors have pretty strict limited openings for patients and can really only be seen preventatively. The rest of the doctors are Interns who are on a rotating schedule and graduate every couple of years or sooner. If you need to see the doctor urgently and cannot wait for an appointment from one of the long term faculty, you will see the active Intern. Originally, I was placed with an Intern, long since gone, and since then have seen different Interns. I don't really mind this, as I like getting different perspectives from different people. I really, really like that all of my doctors have been women, most of them women of color or latinx. 5 stars for this! I also give 5 stars to being able to have fairly lengthy consultations virtually with Doctors who seemed very compassionate and listened to me. However, this system of rotating doctors is only as good as the internal office system in place to coordinate visits with multiple doctors over time. Unfortunately, my doctors have placed nonexistent or insufficient notes from my visits in, so that when I call in between visits or to follow up, the office staff and/or the next doctor have no idea what I'm talking about. This is beyond frustrating! Several incidents have happened: -one Doctor assigned me bloodwork, which I got completed, only to have the next Doctor tell me that I needed to get my bloodwork drawn again because the previous Doctor had left off a panel. -a Doctor prescribed me medication over the phone but then did not leave any record of this in my notes or anywhere else except for the prescription I received. -at the end of one visit a Doctor said she'd call me right back with final instructions and next steps, but did not call me back nor leave any notes -without telling me or asking my permission, a Doctor 'prescribed' me a virtual visit with a pharmacist, but when I got on the virtual visit, it was actually a nutritionist consultation where the nutritionists were given no info of why they were assigned to talk to me, and there was no info in the notes from the Doctor either. Um, now that I write all this out it's difficult to believe I have stuck with them so long! I did however persist in complaining and spoke to a kind nurse practitioner who promised to address some things, but I have no idea how much power or influence she has. While it was nice to be heard at the time, I haven't heard any follow up of what might have changed.

It is only when I call and I tell them that I can send them the receipt that they check it and say, "oh yes, you don't have a balance." Double billing is a practice among many in the medical field. After hanging on hold for anywhere between 5 to 18 minutes after calling the main number, you best be sure they are truthful when giving an appointment many weeks out. There are probably appts sooner if you are standing in front of a friendly office receptionist. And if you are calling to reach a doctor or his/her medical staff, good luck with that. If you are already a patient in the practice, best to ask your doctor for an extension to reach their medical assistant in case you have an emergency and need to be seen immediately. A broken bone or excruciating pain cannot wait for weeks.

He arrives at the ER & vitals are taken. According to the medical records, the pain "started at work after heavy lifting". The man never got out of his truck, never made this statement. (Record also states he is a "current every day smoker". The man has never smoked a cigarette in his life.) They send him for a CT scan, which just shows some degenerative changes". The nurse sticks a lidocaine patch on his back. Then no one comes to see him. A nurse walks by & a family member asks has anyone taken his BP recently. Her reply,"Did you ask him?", meaning the patient. What kind of snarky response is that??? The ER was not busy, but the patient, with the fentanyl wearing off, is now extremely uncomfortable. The ER physician, Dr. S comes in to tell the patient he's being discharged. The family member tells the doctor that the patient complained of urgency & painful urination that morning. The doctor tells them to go have his prostate checked. NO LABS WERE DONE. A simple urinalysis would've shown that the patient had a UTI. There was tenderness in the right lower back area. But Dr. S ignores this and sends the man home. T - temperature (normal) I - Infection (painful urination) M - Mental Decline (patient was anxious & "tired" by discharge) E - Extremely Ill (patient felt the worse he's felt in his life with severe pain) TIME - the signs of SEPSIS. In fact, during the Severe Sepsis Screening, male RN SG, documented YES on the heart rate, which was 128 on admission, & 127 on discharge. DO NOT GO TO THE ER at JFK MAIN. Some pee in a cup. Just a simple CBC. These tests were never done & would've shown that this man had sepsis. Instead, he was discharged. By the head of the ER. After only an hour being home, the man was taken by his family to their local hospital where immediately a sepsis alert was called. An E coli infection from the urinary system... He was admitted & started immediately on IV antibiotics. Remained in the hospital, where they also discovered a mass on the patient's bladder. Cancer. A complaint against Dr. S was filed with the FL DOH. But HCA has a lot of money & great lawyers. Nothing is on record about the complete oversight by Dr. S. He gets to practice emergency medicine forever. This hospital was once known to be the best cardiac hospital in PBC. Since HCA took over, it is not #1 anymore. Even their top cardiothoracic surgeon got the heck out of there. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID.

I had to have a procedure done that required a biopsy which I thought was actually going to be performed by the Dr and not the PA who I thought was there to just gather information for the Dr .He was in there for a total of no more than 5 minutes to observe what she did and left .When I make an appt to see a Dr I expect to see the Dr and not his PA .As a result the biopsy was not healing right Not only that but I left the office and they did want even take the time to explain or give me instructions on how to take care of it afterwards it was found necessary by my present Dr to perform a 2nd biopsy and now is healing very well .because they gave me instructions a and provided me. with the necessary medications. I filed a complaint against the Dr and PA All they did was sent me an apologetic letter and didnt take any responsibility of what occurred. I filed a complaint with the Dept of Health and recieved a dissapointing letter in return that they ³could not do anything because the medical office did not violate any medical procedures So therefore after filing all that evidence that's its unfortunate that the patient does not have any recourse. I'm putting this on record to warn people do not see Dr Dock or his assistant . I'm sorry I have to give this office a poor rating because I had nothing against my former Dr Lampuri she deserves an excellent rating .
