My husband and I stopped by twice to ask for a verbal estimate to use paintless dent repair on the hood only. Both times the owner told us it would be between $300 - $500. However, when we scheduled an appointment and dropped off the vehicle to be repaired we received a call saying the charges would actually be $650. (We also received a written quote this time.) When my husband asked why it was so much more than he had previously been quoted the owner responded that the vehicle incurred additional hail damage since the last time he saw it two weeks before. About a week or two before there was a hail storm in the area, however the vehicle was stored in a garage and did not receive any additional damage. My husband said as much, however, the owner still maintained that the quote of $650 would stand. The total quote was about $1,000. I suspect that the business owner looked at the insurance coverage information that was in the vehicle and expected that we would file a claim. If we filed a claim the insurance deductable less the groupon would have been the amount he originally verbally quoted. Of course I should have gotten a written estimate to begin with, but I had taken in another vehicle for the same type of dentless repair without a written estimate and did not receive a revised quote. As a result of my last experience I would suggest you make sure you bases are covered if you decide to use this company.

I just wanted a catalytic converter put on my car because the one on the vehicle had been removed. I left the car there overnight and was told they were swamped and would get to it the next day. The next morning I got the $420 price tag quote to do the job. This was $80 more than another shop I had gone to, where they did not charge me anything to look at the car and wrote a receipt quote complete with tax and labor. I was talked into G&L by my neighbor so my loyalty got the best of me. When I was told that I had to pay the $47.30, without prior verbal or written agreement of such a charge, I was in a moment of disbelief. The sad reality is, the charge I paid to G&L added to the price I paid elsewhere, is still lesser than the quote of $420 by G&L. Do yourself a favor and save money. Shop around outside of Northeast Wichita. Try American Muffler Shop on Oliver and Mt. Vernon for exhaust system work. They are fair. YOU DESERVE IT!
