A number of years ago, my brother's Chevy Cobalt broke down, and our regular mechanic couldn't fix…read moreit, so he suggested the Chevy dealership. Big mistake. For one thing, they called us the next day, telling us the key was stuck in the ignition and they couldn't get it out and would we want them to fix it. Anybody who knows how to use Google knows that there's a little button underneath the column that you press to remove the key (which our mechanic knew). The next day, they called telling us there was a problem with the starter. There was no issue with the starter when it was at our regular mechanic. The starter being burned out happens when the starter is over-cranked. They wanted to charge us to fix the starter in addition to trying to figure out the other issues. Luckily for them, my brother is paperwork averse. If it had been me, I would have talked to the BBB. He ended up selling the vehicle to the junkyard. If they were hoping he would buy a car from them, a snowball has a better chance in an active volcano.
