My mother with dementia ended up going to an emergency room, and then immediately to a memory care facility. Regardless of the fact that we did not see this coming, extended family home care continued to bill for 2 weeks worth of services which was about 1,200+ only because they were not notified of cancelling services. We had two other home care agencies providing services and neither one of them had this unethical billing policy. On top of that, some of the caregivers did not seem to provide quality care. And also had inconsistent caregiving services, with some cancelling last minute or did not even had the right skill level to care for my mother.

Yet, she rushes him to a memory care facility without notice about a month later Allowing others to call her guardian before she is appointed guardian Is nowhere to be found when your family member needs to go to the ER Refusing to answer basic questions about your family member's care without her lawyer(s) being involved Pawning off her work to people who you have never met before despite saying early on that "it would be me because I have the most experience" Do yourself and your family a favor and do not make the mistake of choosing Sandy to manage the care of your family member.

Had the expectations been presented to me in a clearer, more precise manner- communication- the issues could have been avoided. As someone new to the hiring of a companion, I needed to be walked through situation. So rather than gaining some comfort for my aunt and myself, I am now left with no one for her, and I am extremely frustrated. (The COMPANION was WONDERFUL.) I also cannot imagine I am the only client who has asked to be included in the loop before, during, and after the visits. If you are making the decisions, both financial and otherwise, for a loved one, this is not the place for you.
