Disappointing stay at Hennan Tawala. Chose this place because it mentioned kids stay free, the pool looked inviting in pictures and thought we were allowed to visit the other Hennan pools in the same compound but were we wrong! Hennan Tawala pool appears large but is actually 4 pools divided in 4 sections that doesn't even connect. Our room was far from the beach and still had some walking distance. Had issues connecting my devices to their WiFi. The pool water was cold. They have 2 jacuzzis but all had cold water too. This place charge more than the other hotels in the area for sub-par service. I was charged extra for my 8year old who is considered an adult in their perspective. We were also charged extra for towels we never redeemed. This place will find every reason to charge their customers extra. They will charge you extra if you try to bring food from outside to your room too. I must say the best part of our stay was breakfast & the worst part was the extra charges, cold showers, cold water, and COLD treatment from their manager specifically the front staff/manager Jonabelle when trying to reason regarding extra charges. This place was definitely EXTRA (charges) and so OVER-rated. Not too kid friendly as they charged extra for 6years and older. They do not offer anything for the kids except to take a dip in their frigid pools. We will not be returning nor will we recommend. Save yourself the money & headache because the pictures shown on their sites are all just sugar coating. Note:. Had I known Hennan Tawala would be so shady, we wouldn't have stayed there at all. we are getting far better treatment, shown more honesty, and feel more relaxed at a 3 star actual beachfront hotel in Panglao. Well, this time I went for broke at Henann and rented a Villa that had a private mini pool and patio. The Villa has extra security and a cart service to drive you around the resort. It is not located on the beach, but it's in the center of the resort. You have three Henann hotels here's side by side. The service here at At Henann Alona, I think, is much better than any of the Henanns that I've stayed at in Boracay. The main negative here is that if you stayed at Henann before, you know they have some of the worst non-HD flat screen TV's of any major hotel chain in the Philippines. Also, the lighting in the bathroom is in need of more brightness at the mirrors, especially if you need to be looking at yourself shaving. Other than that, I think having a mini pool I didn't have to share was a plus. read more

Had a great experience at the Henann Premier Resort. The staff were all great and the food in the restaurant was excellent. Our server for dinner on multiple occasions was Fern. She was the most personable and attentive server I've ever had. All is the staff were great, though she made an impression Our after dinner drinks were at the hotel bar next to the restaurant and Harvey and Jameson were great bar servers. I hate to say it but the tourists ruin this place. They turn the pools, beach, ocean and buffet restaurant into a zoo. They scream, lets their kids run wild, trash the environment and treat the staff like barbarians. Literally screaming at and berating the staff. Aside from the nasty tourists, the beach in front and whole area of Panglao/ Alona is dirty, covered in seaweed and garbage and sea urchins. It's hard to find a spot at the pool with the ratchet guests leaving towels to claim stuff then running off all day. We tried to get a proper receipt upon checkout and I still never got one! After asking the guy at checkout and emailing them twice to follow up! The staff are nice but there's too many of them looming all over. The prices of everything at the hotel are too expensive for what you get, plus you have to add 22% onto everything for service and tax charges. RIP OFF. Try walking on the beach outside and you're accosted with people selling overpriced... everything. Massages, food, taxi, tour services, etc are all 2-3x the normal price on that beach. And everyone is haggling you to buy something CONSTANTLY. We stayed across the street at Casa Manni for 1/3 of the price with 20x better service and experience. The staff is very pleasant and well trained. From the desk to restaurant to house keeping, everyone is very nice and has big smile and constantly greeting us. I also is impressed with the cleanliness of common area as well as the pools. It is quite difficult to keep the common area free of bugs and creepers! We did have breakfast at the Coral Cafe as well as Sea Breeze Cafe. The Coral Cafe has more foot traffic. Therefore, the food selections are better and fresher at Coral Cafe. They have so many selection for breakfast (fruits, omelet station, hot food station, local food, congee with many toppings, etc.) and the food is delicious! You can also get massage on the beach by local ladies for a couple hundred peso (less than $10 USD). We hired the local guide with their boat to island hopping for 2000 peso ($40 usd) per day (for 4 people)! The Buzz cafe next door is also a good choice for lighter meal if you don't want to fill up on buffet at Sea Breeze cafe! We did not have any problem with wifi at late night... since I was on vacation, I only used wifi to post pictures and check-in with family and friends from home. It is very disappointing to write this review. I have nothing to say about the amenities because I never got to the place due to a critical family emergency. What I do want to complain about is how inconsiderate they are of our situation. We had to cancel our booking (3 FAMILY ROOMS! Very expensive!) over a week before we get there due to my father's medical emergency. We are not canceling just because we didn't want to go anymore. Long story short, we couldn't go as planned, amongst the other plans that were canceled because of my father's health. We know it's a long shot to get a refund because of how close the date was and will consider a rebooking at a later time. They loosened up a bit after the required proof of admission was submitted, but will only let us rebook if the rooms are sold and we only have a month to rebook it. (Bellevue has a much better policy as we have until June to rebook, which we also reserved for our mega trip). Who the @$&k can rebook that fast??? And what if there's nothing available within the time frame?? So you just keep the money AND make money from our cancellation??? In addition, my family has gone and booked there twice on different occasions. Obviously, our family enjoyed it there. I don't understand why they will only let us rebook IF they sell the rooms that we previously booked, when we've submitted the proof of admission and not ask for a refund. Very inconsiderate on their part! read more

Update: By 10am the following day we still did not get a call. We went to the front desk to follow up. The manager came out, holding our paperwork. It appears she was already aware of our situation but never reached out to us. Again, no apologies made. At this point they still had no answer as to what happened. Finally, they assured us we can stay at the rooms we were currently in. Hours later, we were informed that the mistake was made by trip.com. We were given plates of fresh fruits with an apology note........... Let me mention that while we were waiting at the lobby that first night, we looked online and it showed that premier rooms were indeed available. They claimed they had no rooms available at all, which is a huge lie, because what she should have said was there are rooms but they are allocated for other third party booking companies. This is a beautiful resort. The facilities are clean. The rooms have the necessities and a few luxuries. The wait staff is satisfactory except for a few who truly gave great service. The food is excellent. The pool areas are clean and beautiful. The beach area is mediocre. i have always loved panglao, especially its powdery sand and inviting, calm and warm waters but they could definitely stand to keep the shores cleaner. Vendors and bystanders crowd the shores. That is a cultural thing, however, so if you can view it as a part of the cultural charm then great. Tips: Book directly with them. Do not use third party booking companies. If you are checking in late, call ahead. If you are the kind of customer who wants to stay in a beautiful resort and are perfectly fine with receiving mediocre service, this might be a place for you. read more

We also stayed in Hennan prime in boracay before and that was a wonderful experience which was the reason why we chose Hennan Alona.What made us comeback was the service of the staff. Our family were accomodated in 4 Premium rooms for 5 days. Although our stay had a snag in the beginning because we were told in the airport that we didn't pay for the transport,it was immediately remedied by sending a van for my family in 5mins time. The rooms were spacious, comfortable beds and pillows as expected. Daily water bottle were replenished. We did ask for extra towels, pillows & toiletries ( paid for 3 people each room & had supplies for 2) and they were prompt to bring them to our rooms. 1 of the room's safety box wasn't working but it wasn't a big deal since my sister didn't use it. The Breakfast buffet was really good. They serve a variety everyday.My favorites were the danggit, champorado & ensaymada. I wished they served the danggit everyday . On the day we did Island hopping, they had available food (breads, cheese,baked goods etc...) and was open early to accomodate island hoppers,divers & those who had early activities even if they are supposed to officially serve at 6am. My kids loved the pool,my nieces enjoyed the pool bar and we liked the cleanliness of the resort as a whole.We reserved a dinner buffet but sadly wasn't able to go because on our 4th day,my sister unfortunately had a severe asthma attack,a first for her. Their nurse medic Warren was prompt to help us. He provided the nebulizer and allowed us to monitor and make decisions for my sister while offering his suggestion. (We have 3 nurses in our group). Warren was very respectful,professional and caring, definitely one of Hennan's gem. Once we decided we wanted to bring my sister to the hospital, the Hennan van was available for us. While my sister was in the hospital,Warren followed up how she was before he left for the end of his shift and called again the next day at the start of his shift to ask how she was The concierge team especially Gehl,Jessica,the guys (i forgot some of the other team"s name) were very attentive to our needs and addressed our concerns promptly. Gehl was especially patient, answering questions and concerns. We are very grateful to God that we stayed at Hennan when this emergency happened because the staff were very helpful to us, understanding our level of stress and worry for my sister. Hennan is lucky to have these group of staff . They are the ones who give Hennan a good name and a reason for customers to come back. When my sister was discharged from the hospital,the van picked them up. We requested to extend and pay for our stay for the rest of the day for our flight back to manila so my sister have a bed to rest on until its time to leave, its unfortunate that according to the manager (i wasn't able to speak to him/her personally as he/she didn't get out of her office) there are no available rooms in the entire resort either premium or standard. She did convey that we can choose to go to the Tawala hotel but we need to get 2 rooms. Anyway,we were just happy my sister was ok and we arrived in Manila safe. Again, to Warren, Gehl,Jessica, the rest of the concierge team- thank you! We will definetely stay in Hennan for our next family vacation. read more

One of the best resorts I've stayed in anywhere in the world. From the service, to the comfort, the conveniences, and the cleanliness of the entire place. I splurged for a pool villa here whole some of my other family got a room connected to a pool. Either room was great. We used the villa as a gathering place in the mornings as it came with a lanai with lots of seating. While this is not an all inclusive resort it seems like it's pretty easy to book a package with at least breakfast. The breakfast buffet was great. They had a lot of choices with a few new specials each day. The resort location was ideal, with the beach right in front and the hot spots for eating and shopping walking distance. We also used the concierge to book tours. I can't recommend doing this enough. The price is only slightly more than going with a vendor walking along the beach and is more reliable. We had done both, with the beach vendor failing us completely and the hotel coming through for us. Not only did the concierge book and organize our day tours, they also packed up towels for us for they day. The only thing I would avoid here is the gift shop. Overpriced and poor quality products. The beach bag I bought didn't last more than two days. read more

They have three different pools, one in front of the hotel rooms, another one near the buffet, you can guess which one I was swimming in, and another one near the beach. I thought it will be one of the best especially it is one of the pricey hotel in BOHOL for being beachfront. I've been to Henann resort in Boracay and I loved it but this is one (BOHOL) of the worst. It started from checking in. The resort was misleading. I booked through their website. In their website, they did not indicate that 10 years old is already considered adult. Standard booking for most hotels were kids below 17 years old is considered kids and 18 years old and above were adults. If this is their policy, it should clearly indicate in their website. So I have 3 kids with me when I booked (10 y/o, 11 y/o and 15 y/o). We were only notify about child policy when I received the booking confirmation of the non-refundable rate. In short, no more refund and non-changeable so I don't have any other option but to accept it. Upon checking in, I'm trying to reason out that the resort should clearly indicate it in their website and at least make consideration since their child policy is clearly not listed in their website. I paid 95,472 php for 3 rooms for 3 nights (cheapest of all the room). For this amount, I am not expecting this kind of treatment and service at all. During check in, we were told that I have to pay additional 13, 608php since the kids were considered adults and have to pay for them as adults. Like I said, they will not compromise or make any other option so I paid the additional fee. And this does not stop. When we went to Seabreeze Cafe for father's day buffet, we purchased unlimited drinks for 250php. We were given the blue bracelet initially and we went inside the cafe and order drinks. My husband was given a coke. When we were getting food, the staff was looking for us and gave us additional red bracelet telling us that this is for drinks. While eating, the waiter told us that he did not know that we purchase unlimited drinks when we order since we did not have the red bracelet when we order the drink. So our first drink order will be additional charge and can't be charge back. I talked to the front staff giving bracelet about the incident and told them that this is not fair. It is not our fault if they give the red bracelet late so we should not be charge additional for drinks since we pay for unlimited drinks prior to coming inside the buffet. After talking to staff, I thought it was all settle. Around 9pm, the staff from the buffet called me in my room telling me about the drinks that I should pay. The staff said that if I did not pay for it, he then will have to pay for it. This is totally unacceptable at all. So I told him that I will then pay for it. I don't have much and I saved years to afford this vacation for my treat to my husband for father's day and so far, nothing is going right. I stayed in room 4095 and so far, our aircon is super weak and the room is not getting cold. During the first day, I told them about it, they send somebody to check it. Their solution for our aircon not working is to give us a fan. They did not offer another room with a working aircon but we have to settle for a fan for 3 nights for worth 110k. Today is our last day here in Henann Alona Beach BOHOL. I can't wait to check out. I will never stay or even recommend any Henann resort from now on. This hotel needs a serious change. read more

Love the resort but got the worst customer service experience. We registered early around 10 am. Was told they will call us when room is ready. No calls at all until around 3:30 pm when we finally got our key. Throughout the day we would ask and the answer was always, "I don't know we can't tell you when the room can be ready". Not even at 2:30 after numerous follow ups from us customers, they still can't tell us when the room will be ready. Finally I said to give me any room available. I was told to go up to room 719 and someone will meet us to bring key. Waited a few minutes and no one showed up. I flagged down a housekeeping crew to let us in, he did but was told to leave door open until we get a key. We fell asleep in a dark and hot room, I'd hear staff pass by and no one even checked on us. My niece had to call again to ask for a room key, finally around past 3:30, we got the key. I have never experienced this terrible customer service at any of the hotels we've stayed in. Such a disheartening experience. read more

Stayed here Jan 2015. We loved it. New resort. Beautiful property but it is a large property reminiscent of Riviera Maya resorts in Mexico. We upgraded to a premium room on the 5th floor for the ocean view. Well worth it for us. Big beautiful bathroom with waterfall shower and tub. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet included every morning. It has something for everyone - American favorites (bacon, eggs, pancakes, etc), Filipino breakfast, and others. Offers swim up bars and 2-for-1 happy hour. Can't say enough good things about Henann and Panglao/Alona Beach. We will be back!! Don't turn into Boracay!! We love Alona Beach!! The only criticism I have is slow wifi...and we had to constantly log back on. Annoying but nothing different than we experienced at other hotels. Still, please improve it :) read more

It was a trip of firsts... and my stay Henann made it even more remarkable. There I was treated on the lap of luxury where my sole comfort is their only priority. The rooms were done lavishly with perfection - the singular order of business. The services quick, accurate, and done with great attention to details. The food... the food... the food were the stuff of legends. Nota Bene: I must say, I'm impressed with how the architecture compliments the hot weather of Bohol as the lobby remained very refreshed despite the heat and the sea breeze never felt sticky and dull. I guess it's because of the building design our layout or maybe because of the landscaping that allows us to feel so cool and neat all the time. read more

Though the resort is relatively clean and staff is super nice and accommodating, this hotel charges guests for everything. The charges were for the henna stains on the bedsheets, hand towels, bathrobes, and regular use stains on bath mats. We were fine with being charged with items that got henna stains but the bathroom floor mats was really what threw us over the edge. Ideally if something such as a towel is on the floor, it's bound to get stained. The stains they claimed that were on the bath mats were from our feet. Our feet may have been dirty, I mean who's wouldn't be after spending a whole day at the beach, so we showered and we stepped on the bath mats. The charges ended up being an extra +$50. It's not about the money, it's about the principle of it all. And it wasn't like they gave us the charges at the end, they were notifying us of all the charges after our room was being cleaned. If felt like we were being watched. Like big brother was constantly on our ass about every little thing. It made it an uncomfortable stay and was the one negative part about our stay. I totally understand it may not be the staff's fault, they have to abide by the strict rules and regulations of the hotel. Positives: The staff were super accommodating, the food was amazing, the beach was easily accessible and there were even reserved beach spots for guests. This place just opened last june 2015. Locals say this resort covers a large area than other resorts to date. Layout really nice, they have a kiddie pool close to the room areas so its great for families. As you walk out toward beach you see the bigger pool and fill beach pleasantly landscaped. read more

Booked two nights here for $223/ night for a deluxe room and we got a karinderya/ street canteen view.They also have construction work going on at the beach which blocks the view at the beach. The hotel rates shouldn't be this high especially for rooms that have this kind of view and when there's ongoing construction work. Hotel Massages are expensive as well, prices are comparable to the US - it ranges from P1600-P2300 for an hour massage.. outside of the resort its only P200-P400. The staff are really nice and the rooms are clean and pretty new. One thing I also noticed, the uniform dresses of the female servers at the restaurants are very short... it even has a slit on the back when its already way short and skimpy. It doesn't take a feminist to conclude that whoever designed those female uniforms is sleazy. read more

First of all, THANK YOU for a wonderful stay! We were a family of 19 vacationing from Cali. We stayed here for 3 nights and 4 days. I requested an early check in due to our early flight. They were very accommodating and gave us whatever 2 rooms that were available (we have 5 deluxe rooms on our reservation). We also paid for RT pick up and drop off to the local airport. Their vans were readily available to us. The drivers assisted with our luggages and we were handed cold water bottles! It was a warm day so it helped a lot. Upon arriving at their resort, it was a bit crowded due to guests checking out. However, the customer service was superb! The concierge took care of our luggages and held on to them until all our rooms were available. We also got complimentary drinks (which we didn't use it until we left). We ate at the Sea Breeze Cafe for the buffet lunch and their restaurant was clean and the food was delicious. Their customer service was amazing! Rooms: All of our 5 rooms were Deluxe Rooms. It had the front view of the property and some construction. It didn't bother us because we hardly stayed in anyway. We weren't there to just sleep. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable and the water pressure was great. The housekeeping crew cleaned our rooms, took our trash and made our beds daily. When we called for room service or anything we needed, the staff was on it. Breakfast: AMAZING! Our reservation included all of the adults buffet breakfast (16 adults, 3 kids-under 9, 305 pesos each time). Their breakfast buffet had 2 locations, Coral's and Sea Breeze (I hope I got the names correct). The one inside the resort on the second floor opened at 6 AM up to 10 AM. The one in front of the beach opened at 7, I think. It didnt matter which one we ate at, the customer service, quality of food, cleanliness of the restaurant and the bathrooms were equally the same. I never got to take pictures because I was overwhelmed with the top quality of their food and service. We enjoyed them all! They served Filipino and American breakfast which included bacon, waffles, pancakes, ham, arroz caldo, siopao, champorado, tapa, daing, eggs, fresh fruits, fresh pastries including the amazing ensaymada(TRY THEM), corned beef, garlic rice, longanisa, and unlimited coffees/teas/hot and cold chocolate/ fresh milk and many many more! Resort: WOW! their pools were clean! and the towels were warm. Despite of the sunny weather in the Philippines, we still got cold when we got out of the water so warm towels were excellent! They have plenty of pools so there was no way you cannot swim or would not have a place to swim or lounge at. There were 2 things we didnt like. First, the female staff had to wear a skirt. Some were just okay but some weren't. They were too fitted and they seemed uncomfortable due to the length and fit. We understand the need to wear uniform, but please consider your female staff's comfort and how they appear. However, all staff appeared to be clean at all times. Not only their uniforms but their faces, feet and hands(all visible nails clipped) appeared neat. Second, some guests were extremely rude to other guests. We encountered some foreign(non Filipino) guests that treated Filipino guests without courtesy. Overall, I say YAY to Henann and specially to the staff. And thank you that you provide your employees their meals! It was a good change! Remember to always treat your employees with much care because without them, you wont have your business. I'm giving them 3 stars for the service, but not for the food. Not worth 800 something pesos for a dinner buffet. Not much of food selections. Grilled seafood --bland. Grilled squid was half-way cooked but rubbery and has no flavor. Grilled crab was dehydrated. Tiny turon was hard and not crispy. Ginatang Biko-bilo was just sweet. There was no special dish that I could at least rave about. They serve glorified Filipino food. But, customer service is good. Hopefully, they would improve on the food items. read more

spent a short 2 nights here at the Henann Beach Resort and wished i had time to stay longer! the resort itself is pretty new and the grounds are amazing. loved all the pools - water was warm and our group of 4 never had a problem finding lounge chairs. and when we needed a change from the pool, loved that the resort is beach front. they even have lounge chairs available on the beach for hotel guests too! location is great to walk up and down the beach to find other restaurants and explore the area. also utilized the airport shuttle service which worked out pretty well and was awesome to have a nice air conditioned car for the ride haha...we did arrive right around check-out time so the lobby and the lines were a big mess. took us a while to try and check-in (prob close to 45-min wait) and since we were early and after all that time, they didnt have even rooms available but of course for a small fee, they could find us 2 rooms that were ready. we didnt want to wait so we paid the fee and got our rooms haha on to the rooms - they were clean and loved all the features. there was a small balcony over looking the pool area, mini fridge, bottled water provided daily, overhead rain shower plus separate bath tub - all amazing and everything still looked new and in great condition. also no issues with housekeeping during our stay either. only minor bummer is that the wi-fi wasnt that great. it would be really spotty in the room and out at the resort area. only feature of the resort that i think can use some improvement is the food and restaurant service. love that a breakfast buffet is included in your room rate and i think i enjoyed these meals the most. great variety of american, filipino, and asian food - especially loved the congee, garlic rice, and coffee...but we also ate at the resort restaurants for lunch and dinner and wasn't overly impressed with both the 2nd floor lobby restaurant and the other restaurant located near the main pool area. food was just ok - dinner buffet had a lot of variety and did like that they cooked fresh meat and seafood but wasnt overly impressed and for lunch, i ordered a burger and chips which was fine...but at some points service was really slow. in a practically empty restaurant, it still took forever to first get help from a server and then to wait for our food. just wish that they could up the food quality/taste a little bit and focus more on customer service at the restaurants. other than that though, i would still highly recommend a getaway to Henann Beach Resort - its a really nice place for some R&R! read more

I'd like to give this place 5 stars, but the common areas become terribly unhealthy as they allow smoking in the property--the pool bars, the covered lounging areas by the pool, etc. We just moved away from one spot by the pool to another, though it's raining, since we don't want to die of second hand smoke. It's 2016 and smoking guests here behave like it's 1980--very insensitive about other guests who don't smoke. We booked here because we thought it was a non-smoking property. read more

Great resort but very poor service and food. Our room was excellent and had a view of the upper pool. The included breakfast buffet was good but the lunch and dinner buffets were not. The staff was very polite but service was poor. Our room was not cleaned daily unless we called the desk several times. "Someone will address that in 15 minutes" actually took three hours. Forget about having them do laundry. It took over an hour to get a sandwich at the pool bars. The resort is a year old and beautiful on a typical beach with lots of adjacent diving shops and restaurants. There is a bank ATM within walking distance. Included Wifi worked some of the time. It was an okay resort....I traveled all over and I have high expectations when it comes to hotels. Why? This is your home away from home. It is a great ocean front property, great multiple pools and location. When it comes to cleanliness that's one in my top list. The bathroom is great except that it's not all the way cleaned. I understand it is used a lot and so it needed to be properly mantained to with stand its purpose. The staffs are great but there are still room for improvement. I like it that the staffs is constantly cleaning the lobby and common areas. The ocean front lacks cleaning....beach front should be cleaned of debris and trash. The breakfast buffet was great except that the food is lukewarm only. The area is so small that guest are all over the place. It's great that there are many staff in the dinning room but for what purpose...still you see them just standing not doing anything. You need more at the front desk. Check in was horrible. Waited forever. Waited long too for check out too. The ride to airport was poorly managed. We were told 8am so we were there before the time. Waited 45 min before we left. Our flight at 945am. So with that said....I hope your establishment will take some points from guest comments to better improve your services and gain more guest to come in the near future. read more
