His eval indicated I needed #1 root canal, #1 extraction and #2 crowns for $4,600. This dentist spent less than one minute looking at both the x-rays and inside my mouth - no exaggeration. I went to Dr.Valdez and to make a long story short he fixed the broken crown, filed the chipped crown that was NOT broken (which was the one the US dentist wanted to pull) and now all is perfect. Including Dr Valdez's fees plus the travel costs to go to Mexico I spent less than $600. A $4,000 difference. Tell me that is not worth a trip to Mexico.

To be completely honest, I was nervous about having reconstructive breast surgery done in a smaller town. I kept thinking maybe I should go to Austin or Dallas because surely I'd find a better surgeon there. I could not have been more wrong. From the very first phone call, I knew this office was different. When I called, I explained to the receptionist that I knew one of my implants had been ruptured for quite some time. Instead of making me wait weeks for an appointment, she made sure I got in to see Dr. Lee the very next week. That meant so much to me and set the tone for everything that followed. Every single person I met was kind, caring, and made me feel like I truly mattered. From the front office and scheduling staff to the nurses and surgical team, everyone treated me with such compassion. I never felt like I was just another patient. Then came surgery... What was supposed to be a breast reduction and implant replacement turned into a much more complicated reconstructive surgery. Dr. Lee discovered that one implant had ruptured, and the other had significant internal scar tissue and adhesions that required a tremendous amount of meticulous reconstructive work. Knowing now what he found during surgery makes me appreciate his skill even more. The final result is absolutely beautiful. For the first time in over twelve years, I finally feel like me again. What also impressed me was how up-to-date Dr. Lee is. He isn't a doctor who simply does things the way they've always been done. He stays current with the latest advancements to help his patients heal, including therapies like healing peptides, which no other doctor had ever discussed with me before. It was reassuring to know I was receiving care from someone who is always learning and looking for better ways to care for his patients. And the care didn't stop after surgery. I've honestly never experienced anything like it. If I had a question, someone was there. If I had a concern, they answered it. There was even a time I reached out around 2:00 in the morning, expecting to leave a message until morning... and someone actually responded. Who does that anymore? Dr. Lee's team does. They made me feel safe. They made me feel cared for. They made me feel like I wasn't going through this alone. A few minutes later she calls and I can tell she doesn't know how to tell me that she has to cx my appt because "we cannot see you according to my manager", and she is very apologetic. She then says that her manager will be calling me, so I ask the name of the person who will be calling me, and she says "Mrs. Slavin". I tell her "I'm sorry you will be hearing me but I know what's going on. She won't let Dr. Slavin see me bc I'm an ex-employee. Mari (Mrs. Slavin) is petty, unethical, and unprofessional. You can tell her I said that. And again, I'm sorry you got caught up in this". I worked for Dr. Slavin for 6 years. I never stole from him nor did I do anything illegal. I took care of his patients and went above and beyond to take care of his patients. And now his petty, unethical, unprofessional wife refuses me services. I need his services as a patient, I'm not there looking for work. What happened to the Hippocratic oath Dr. Slavin took? What happened to "I will treat the sick to the best of my ability", or "I will remember that I do not treat a fever, chart, or cancerous growth (or an ex-employee), I treat a human being", and last but not least, what about "may I long experience the joy of healing those who SEEK MY HELP".
