Traditional place to go in our area to get great furniture at a good price. I like the small town atmosphere everybody's friendly. Great selection. This review is months over due. We have purchased over 20 pieces of furniture over the last 40 plus years. Stacey was amazing. We bought several pieces for our family room. We had to choose fabric and leathers and colors and spent so much time trying to arrange the room. It was overwhelming, but Stacey was so patient. It was so much fun! We were in the store several times and never felt rushed or pressured. The young men who delivered our furniture were extremely careful and respectful!! Hendrick's is the only store in the area to carry Smith Brothers sofas--in our opinion, among the best on the market. They have a nice selection of Smith Brothers styles as well as other brands and styles. We had our new sofa delivered today and absolutely love it! Hendrick's was easy to work with and the delivery guys were great. In our order-on-line, mail-order world, it is becoming more and more rare to find good quality furniture stores. I had heard the Springfield, IL commercials about Hendrick's furniture on TV, so my husband and I drove over one Saturday early afternoon. If you are not from this area, it isn't very clear where to enter their building. The side entrance to the parking lot is the "main" entrance. Upon entry there is no sales person to greet you, to tell you where things are, what you are looking for, or what sales they may or may not be having.... You have to navigate around yourself. We did see a counter with 2 woman standing discussing their weekends. They were friendly, said hello and went about their conversation. First impression on this walk through: Outdated. They did put a few leather pieces up at the "main entrance" to fool you, but as you get further in, you recognize that some of the pieces look as if they are just blended w/ older ones. A few pet peeves: -We saw a total of 7 sales persons. 1 of them was with a couple, showing them carpet, and not any of the other 6 approached us, or bothered to ask if they could help. (2 ladies at one counter....2 guys at the other counter.....2 on the floor) -Hendrick's wrote on several tags "SOLD", and left the furniture sitting on the floor. If I noticed it , it was numerous pieces. Does this mean I can not buy it? Then get it off of the sales floor!!! How annoying! It either showed lack of delivery on their part, or that the locals were taking advantage of storage. -If you're looking for a recliner, you might just find one here. They had more recliners than anything else. Recliners, upon recliners, upon recliners. Did I mention they had some recliners? :-) -Outrageous prices for what was on the sales floor. Hendrick's needs to update their staff, purchasing, and building. It's not working anymore. It's a shame, because I prefer to buy local. :-/ read more

We have bought a dozen pieces of furniture and bedding here since the early 90's. our most recent purchase was in 2013. Jim Hendrick, the owner, took great care of us. He asked several questions to verify what we were asking to see was really what we wanted. The prices are not cheap, but neither are their products. The first three times we bought there I did comparison pricing for the same items at other furniture stores and the Hendrick's price was always the lowest. Never had a bad experience. They offer a decorating service but we've never used it. I've never felt pressured to buy or decide on the spot. We often floor shop other stores but always end up buying at Hendrick's. read more

My one star rating is specifically for their customer service. The furniture gets a 5 star rating. I had a family member recommend this store. Our sales lady (Stacey) was very nice, and we found a set of furniture that I really liked. I needed, tho, to have a few extra pieces ordered to complete the set. Total bill came to $8430.00. In my opinion, spending that kind of money gives me a reasonable expectation of great customer service. As we all know tho, demand is way higher than supply can keep up with right now because of covid. So I knew there would be a pretty good wait time on the ordered pieces. But this is where I became unhappy. Whenever I called to inquire on the status of my order, or after it had arrived at the store to inquire on setting up a delivery date, I was told.....we will check into that and call you back. Well, they NEVER CALL BACK. I'm not talking once or twice, more like 6 or 7 times I didn't get a call. When trying this week (AGAIN) to schedule a delivery date, there was no doubt that the guy I was speaking to was giving me the run around. Guess he feels pretty comfortable with his job when his last name is the same as the store. It became clear that he did not want to drive the 2 hours to my house, even tho I had paid a delivery fee already. I am convinced that he was going to him, haw, and stall to see if I would give up and drive there to pick it up myself. Ummm, when h**l freezes over. So I tried a different strategy. Had my other half call today and speak ONLY to the nice sales lady we had dealt with back in July. Lo and behold, she easily and quickly scheduled our delivery for this tuesday. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the guy I spoke to several times wasnt going to be cooperative with a female customer, thinking that I wouldn't see right thru his flimsy excuses. So if you want quality, well made furniture, I give the store 2 thumbs up. If you want great customer service, only deal with Stacey. read more

We have been going to Hendricks for many years. Their sales staff is knowledgable and friendly. Their furniture is displayed beautifully so one can visualize how it will look in their own home.
