Counselors, doctors and psychiatrists have failed to understand me for years. But where others have…read morefail, Dr. Ogle has succeeded. He helped figure out what made me feel tired, unfocused, and unmotivated. Even though he's an older, quiet guy, I still felt like he understood my young, female mind. First, he asked me about myself, my life, and if I thought counseling would help. I explained that I'd been to a number of counselors, including the two I had at the time. Talking wasn't helping. He wanted to make sure it was something I couldn't talk my way though before going to the script pad. I've tried a number of meds with various doctors. Olge made some suggestions to me about what my best options were. He explained what each med would focus on as well as what they were generally used for. I felt very well-informed and comfortable with his advice. We compared and collaborated to make theb best choice for me. Other docs would learn a thing or two from Dr. Ogle. He treats you like a person, not a problem.

His response to my becoming ' dependent '/ addicted to clonazepam (Klonopin)was at best cavalier, and at worst , outright dangerous . I saw him for the best part of 20 years, in all that time he never made the slightest allusion to my more-than-a-few decades of abstinence/sobriety, the most pertinent fact of my ' presentation' and history . I have talked with several friends who worked for a really long time in MH, and both more or less agreed with this summation. A nice guy , but be forewarned ...

Avoid this entire organization (all locations) - they have gotten "too big for their britches"…read more Although the providers themselves are sufficiently competent they have grown too large to provide acceptable patient care. You WILL experience gaps. With multiple locations you will not be able to contact your provider, everything is automated and you will be leaving voicemails. Those voicemails will either go unanswered entirely or MAYBE be returned after 48 hours. The staff at each location is only in charge of HALF their own job, aka they issue your script and disappear. All subsequent communications/resolutions go to a "med management team" that never sees you, and could care less about timeliness or you in general. Expect your script to be filled out incorrectly, expect to have to call you pharmacy then med management then the pharmacy then med management then the pharmacy....over and over and over again relaying mssges you don't understand bc you don't work in the medical industry - because no one at the office will make the effort to resolve the issue themselves....you better be a great self advocate bc your going to need to fight for your life here. God forbid you get sent to the Danville location - where Evelyn is the face of the front desk. Her mood is unpredictable but immediately evident within the first exchanged sentence. Not sure how a mental health facility can employ someone so openly condescending, pretentious and irritable...the niche clientele is likely anxious...we deserve warmth. Even their HR person "reached out"...but it was just for show...bc she didn't give me her number OR her last name to call back hahaha - just went through the "motion" of calling - likely to show her boss my number on the caller ID as "having done it". They are just SO careless. I'm so tired of the nausea and vomitting I'm subjected to monthly bc they can't make two scripts of Prozac meet. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid!!

Communication is severely lacking, and it's very disappointing that people who are supposed to treat mental health issues only cause more of those issues for their patients. They lied and said they took my debit card off of my son's account and continue to charge large amounts to my checking account without warning. The office manager even lied directly to me about removing it. Don't waste your time here. I got a second opinion and was the healthiest I'd ever been TWO WEEKS LATER. Speaks volumes.

The staff has always been kind and compassionate. From the front desk to the nurse, the doctor and the therapists all have treated me with respect and dignity. All staff are very knowledgeable about eating disorders and how to treat the whole person and not just the disease. I have seen two nutritionists, a psychiatrist, two doctors, two nurses and a couple of the therapists. I have been in their outpatient and PHP programs and I would say the care I have received only improved over time. I would highly recommend seeking treatment here as a first stop or as one of your stops in your recovery journey. I am constantly impressed by their care and have felt supported every step of the way.

It is so hard to find specialists in this area, so I am grateful that this is located so close to my home and business. I see a Psychiatrist, a Psychologist, an Internist, a Dietitian, and a Family Psychologist at the center. I also attend group therapy. The recovery process takes a lot of time and effort, but it is worth it. I have been a patient at Charis for almost 9 months so far. I am not sure when my journey will end, but the visits reduce in frequency over time.
