I'm writing this about my young adult son's experience. His father and I take care of him. After over a year or 2 of treatment he felt hurried, not listened to and even bullied. His therapist during the second time seeing my adult son had a doctor or therapist who had never seen my son as a patient come into the room and what he said to my son devastated him. My son came home highly upset, depressed and said that he felt bullied and shamed. I feel like no therapist should have a second party enter the room giving opinions and or advice to a mentally ill person who can't give proper consent. A person should never come home in distress after a therapy session. We have since found a new dr and pulled him out of that office as quickly as we were able to. The office is very money oriented. If you have a balance of over 100 dollars you can't be seen. If there is a need for medication between visits it cost us $20 dollars for the phone call and or medication help. If you miss a therapy appointment without giving a 24 hour notice there was a $65 fee. Even with insurance therapy and Dr visits where around $300 a month for us. One of the staff members charged our co pay to a credit card that didn't have enough money on it without asking what card we would like to use. That caused us a fee. I was told that if I had a question or concern for the doctor I had to make an appointment for it. That didn't feel right to me. So that would be an appointment on top of his normal appointment. The staff is iffy. You can get a kind caring person or someone who is hurried and rude. We had a horrible experience but others might have a better one. read more

I went here to see Pam (I don't remember last name) for medication management for my intense mental illnesses. I have never been here before, which resulted in me being a little bit late. I ended up waiting an hour in the waiting room, just for the receptionist to ask if I'd like to reschedule because Pam just NOW came out of an appointment. No one let me know anything the entire time I was sitting there, and it caused a lot of anxiety. I wish I would have looked at the reviews before even waiting my time here. read more

DO NOT GO HERE FOR MENTAL ILLNESS. Pam Statelier should most certainly be in a different field of work...maybe a drive-thru. Worst care/communication I've ever witnessed. I myself do not have a psychology degree, but I did go to Butler University for engineering & chemistry so I'm familiar with a professional attitude & Pam just don't got it. read more

Dr. Borders is who you want to see. Out of the three psychiatrists I saw at Hendricks Therapy, he is the reason why I continue to seek treatment. I will not see anyone else. I wish he did therapy sessions. He asks the right questions and does not push medicine. He even has a book recommendation list which has helped me cope with years of trauma (available on audible) that years of talk therapy could not help me through. read more

Pam S, N.P. at Hendricks Therapy in Plainfield provided my family the worst service I have ever experienced in this type of of practice. We were looking for 2nd opinions. I have never felt so disrespected and overwhelmingly confused by her back and forth and rudeness. My child behaved tonight and yet she made her cry for getting up and looking out the window towards the end of our visit, and then got rude with me for asking a question in regards to why she said something in particular....and made my kid cry! Apparently, asking questions is undermining, even as a mother. I decided to leave, and then was advised to leave after I stood up and told my kid to 'come on'. When I expressed myself about her undeserved rudeness and how she treated us she told me she would call the cops if I didn't leave quietly! Are you kidding? 1. I am NOT that mean threatening person 2. My kid started crying and confused because she was being talked down to AFTER she had complied with the lady's directions! Who makes a child feel bad like that? And who tells someone's kid that they are the parents boss, and it isn't work related? read more

Oh my goodness! I love Dr. Borders. He has gotten me off of so much unnecessary medication. He genuinely cares. You're not just another appointment to him. He asks questions relating to your care instead of a scripted reply. It has been a refreshing change! read more

I've never given anyone a bad review..EVER. But, from the bottom of my heart I vouch that this place deserves it. For years, I struggled. I was lost in this world. I was a valley of uncontrollable emotions, either extremely happy or extremely sad. I had no explanation for this as I had been like that since I had to drop out of college 2 years prior. I was ready to die. Life was so unbearable I started self medicating with narcotics just to keep me from wanting to end it. Every morning I'd wake up to this feeling of complete despair. Eventually I attempted the suicide via heroin overdose. I was saved by paramedics and was sent to ER. Within 8 hours I was released from the hospital, and within 30 mins of getting home I killed myself again. This time taking an amount I knew for sure would finish me... Thank God for those paramedics, they came right back and on the very last narcan I was revived. I had been unresponsive for 12 mins. This would land me in rehab where I was referred to Hendricks Therapy to seek counseling/psych treatment from an actual psychiatrist who would get to know me. I was told he would medically evaluate me after extensive 1on1 thearpy sessions with the goal of diagnosing me and potentially helping me in anyway possible.... Man was I wrong... Total shame how I would be medically treated by Dr. Mulinix. My first therapy session we met in his office. I can still picture it now. The amount of unorganization from the papers just scattered all over his desk, book shelf was embarrassing, books stacked on the floor... Immediately I was confused by the appearance, it was as if he didn't give a damn from the start... During that first meeting he told me to grab a seat on the couch... I'm expecting him to sit in the other as we begin getting to know each other. Eventually allowing me to feel comfortable to open up about myself to anyone before. But, that was never really attempted. He never moved from that desk that faced away from the couch. He had a questionnaire of 30 questions that pretty much just reaffirmed that I was a depressed, confused, 22 year old kid. However, the doctor decided he was going to put me on a "Suboxone" substitute called Subutex. He assured me this would counter the addiction and was a more affordable drug. Only problem was that I had been clean from Heroin for 2 weeks. I even told him that. So, what was his reason to give a recovering addict, a heroin substitute?? It didn't make sense. But, as a drug addict I felt like I won the lottery. I get to be high again. For 30 straight days at a time. He also supplied me with Wellbutrin for the depression. And that was it. 24 minutes and he's already medically diagnosed me and I'm going home with the solution to my problem.... Well, combing the anti-depressant with the Heroin substitute simply was ineffective. 25 days I was much worse than I was when I arrived, but hopefully he will hear me out and try a new approach next session the following month. After pleading that the Suboxone and Wellbutrin we're not working, as now I'm well into an unnecessary Suboxone addiction. Yeah, Dr. Mulinix took a clean recovering heroin addict who was 2 weeks clean, and ended it with a 30 day supply of a drug that to this day was the worst withdrawl I'd ever experience. However, I was in too deep. The Subutex addiction was real and at this point I was a junkie for it. I didn't even care the Heroin substitute made me unable to have bowel movements for 14 days! That first month of Subutex I had 2 bowel movements in 27 days.I was now 10-15 pounds heavier as a result of this drug. The 2nd session was once again $60 after insurance. And once again within 25 minutes and answering the most basic set of pre-arrainged questions again, I was on my way. I advised him of my severe constipation, he told me to get laxatives from the drug store. I had already been taking laxatives daily, but this was no concern to him. At this point it was clear I was nothing more than a drug addict who he could profit off of. I told him I wanted off the Subutex soon and we agreed we would discuss this next month "you want to ween off this drug, quitting cold turkey is very dangerous". He doubled welbutrin dose to help with the depression, like that was honestly ever going to work while I'm an addict. Soon after he sent me on my way to spend another $260 dollars on this "cheaper" Suboxone substitute.This time didn't even give me a handshake as he essentially wrapped up another disappointing session. From there on Dr. Mulinix wasn't my psychiatrist. He was my drug dealer. By the third session I told him I'm done with your drugs. I need help not drugs. The coward of a man never even addressed me after I told him I was done. 2 more years I struggled. Then decided to try another doctor. After a single 1 hour session, the doctor gave me an assessment. It quickly became clear what was a serious cause of my problems. I was battling Severe ADHD for years and had no clue. read more

Tamara Munoz will not listen and is easily side tracked. Will interrupt with irrelevant tangent that gets dragged on. 45min sessions have gone over 2hours. I have found myself having to redirect the professional back on task, odd considering qualifications. One time waited an hour past appointment time, but otherwise consistently late. After she expressed need to return to her family, was blamed for length of phone call that could have ended anytime. Feel very unprofessional. Medical reporting very inconsistent and reflects lack of attentiveness. Facts will be misconstrued, even falsified. Office staff largely unprofessional too. Received a voicemail indicating documents available to pickup but upon arrival not available and told voicemail didn't say so even though it did. Every opportunity facility has had me disappointed. There are better places to seek therapeutic needs. I have a genuine sorrow for the families that continue to use this practice. Run far away. This is a drug first and then sort out type practice. read more
