39 wks Belly henna: lotus-flower mandala by Manjushree

Manjushree graciously traveled to me as I was already 39+ weeks pregnant! I showed her some designs and gave her the story behind my gestational surrogacy journey and how I wanted to honor the blooming life inside me along with this baby's 3 angel siblings. She was prompt to respond, came to my home on a Sunday afternoon with a penciled design, was very professional (offered a tip sheet to optimize the duration of the stain, dabbed my dried henna with lemon-sugar solution), is personable and naturally gifted in this art form, while also formally trained at henna conferences, and only uses special organic supplies formulated in London (henna + lavender oil for my prego belly smelled heavenly!). She also kindly did a small lotus design on my son who was excited to try henna! I can't wait to do more henna with Manjushree at my next party. She was clear and fair in her pricing ($100 belly, $50 feet, $30 travel fee) and took my payment thru Venmo. So happy to have finally dressed my round belly with her henna design!

She made my Nikah (wedding ceremony) perfect! I went to her to get henna done for marriage ceremony which is tradition. I sent pictures for reference and she went ABOVE AND BEYOND my expectations. What I asked for was intricate and very detailed (it took over 4 hours) and I am so glad I went. Her prices are GOOD as well. She was so accommodating and sweet. I had Manjushree do my Karva Chauth henna a couple of years ago. I'm very particular about the designs and how I want my design to turn out, else it would break my heart. She took the time to listen to me, saw some pictures I had as reference and made such an intricate design on both my palms, and took her time to do it. She didn't try to rush it. She's the only one I've come across so far that does henna the way it's nicely done in India. And may I add, she also came to my apartment instead of me having to drive over to her. Manjushree is possibly the BEST henna artist in the LA area. A day or two prior, I showed her some of her past work that I admired. She then took the time to draw a whole new design that took elements of the pictures I referenced. It was costumed to my taste. Manjushree was extremely patient and kind. No-nonsense, extremely detailed and doesn't waste your time. The whole time I was there she made sure I was comfortable, made sure I loved what she was doing and the aftercare instructions we're amazing. Henna Hopes was so helpful and professional while getting my henna done! I found her on short notice because I needed to get my mendhi done for my sister's nikkah. The design was absolutely beautiful and she did not disappoint! The henna smelled really good and is organic infused with essential oils.
