We love it when she tells us about how much she loves to draw when she was young and how she started her career. This is my first time getting a Henna Tattoo. She is very nice to walk me through the process. She explains to me the ingredients of her paste. The eucalyptus oil smells unbelievable. I can smell the special fragrance while she is painting. It feels good on my skin too. She is super creative!. She doesn't need to see or follow any patterns. She just paint it from her heart. I love all the details pattern she paint for me. Henna Tattoo is really her passion!! Not only she is creative, she is super fast!! It only takes her 10-15 minutes to finish. That is amazing! She even puts some "bling bling" on my Henna Tattoo. That definitely makes me super happy!! The paste drys up quickly. I listen to Elizabeth's advise and leave it on overnight so that the color would be darker and last longer. Too funny -- just before my appointment, I was remarking to my bf that I hoped I wouldn't fall asleep on my henna like Cece did in New Girl. Turns out, LA Henna DID do the henna as seen on New Girl. Small world! :) Cass and I were both invited to have henna done by Elizabeth in her lovely home. As she usually contracts her henna services for parties by the hour, she worked with impressive speed and attention to detail. During our brief session (only 10-15 minutes each!), we chatted about Elizabeth's 10-year experience with henna and how she mixes her own with natural ingredients including eucalyptus oil (which, by the way, smells amazing). She may joke about lacking creativity, but it couldn't be further from the truth. After years of doodling henna-like patterns in her free time, she thinks quickly on her feet and the artwork simply flows. We picked our desired locations (right wrist/forearm for both of us), an approximate size, and she took it from there. If you haven't had henna done before (and I hadn't really - just the crap on Venice Boardwalk), the process is simple. After the henna paste is applied, it slowly hardens over time - as quickly as 20 minutes outdoors and closer to an hour if indoors. When it gets dark and crusty, the paste will naturally flake off. You can expedite the process by rubbing gently. The initial stain is orange (and I mean BRIGHT orange - see photos) but it darkens within the first 24 hours or so. And according to Elizabeth, LA Henna's henna will last anywhere from 10 days to two weeks, much longer than places that use synthetic (potentially dangerous!) dye. Awesome new "ink" aside, Elizabeth was just a pleasure to meet. She is very down to earth and genuinely passionate about her art. It shows in her sincerity and enthusiasm -- she even went the extra mile to add glitter to Cass's design (girl loves her bling!). I contacted Liz with LA Henna as she was the first listed in YELP. I stopped searching after I read her reviews and when I texted her she responded right away. I was a little worried when I booked her via text with no type of signed agreement but she assured me that my date/time was set and she would definitely be there. I sent a follow-up text a week before my event and she confirmed again right away. She was on time, professional and very personable. My guest loved both her and the lovely artistry. I even requested that she offer the PRINCE symbol to my guest since PURPLE/PRINCE was part of my theme. She automatically asked me if that's what I wanted when it was my turn. If I could give zero stars I would. I am extremely disappointed and would not recommend this company to anyone. I reached out on April 2 2019 to set up a henna appointment on July 19 for 5 people. Liz reached out and confirmed the date for service. I then reached out again on July 11 to confirm we were good for July 19th. Liz emailed back and confirmed for 5pm. At 230pm on the 19th, I emailed telling her to give me a call when they were close so I could show them where to park. She emailed back saying she has us in the system for July 16 and someone came to the location but no one was there. No one called or emailed me on the 16th to ask, so I assume they didn't really do this. Even if they did, I very clearly had already confirmed the time and date so any mix up was on them. Liz referenced a "form" that says a different date and that she would send it over to show me. I never filled out any form and did everything via email - all emails clearly state the 19th. I could've forgiven all of this if they made ANY attempt to rectify the situation. Not only did they not send anyone out that day or the next day (I emailed asking if they could do the 20th instead when I found out the 19th was botched), they didn't even respond. Poor service. Do not use this company. read more

In my 10 plus years in the Event Planning profession, I have never encountered this level of unprofessionalism from a vendor. The absolute level of incompetence that stemmed from LA Henna is almost laughable considering that they appeared in a Google search of top Henna vendors in Los Angeles. After quoting me over $300/hour, which was high for a vendor of this kind, I hired them to work my office summer party. 45 minutes before the event, when every other vendor, including the caterers, florists, and photo booth operator, had come and started set up, I called to see what the status of LA Henna's arrival was. I got an unenthusiastic answer from "Elizabeth" who said she would check and call me back. Having heard nothing for nearly 30 minutes (at this point, my event was scheduled to start in 15 minutes), I called again and got a text back saying "I can't talk right now." So I texted back to see if I could get a response. After no response, I emailed. No response. 5 minutes before my event was to start, I texted again and got an absolutely rude, unprofessional, and indignant response as if I was bothering her. Please see the screenshot included in the Yelp review. She said I was emailing, calling, and texting her too much and she was looking into it. That was the last correspondence between us. The vendor never arrived. I need to reiterate that in over a decade in this career, I have never encountered such a negative and unprofessional experience. I also want to reiterate the ridiculousness of the situation - "Elizabeth" never called to update me, never called to apologize when no one showed up, and never even offered an explanation (reasonable or not). I would never recommend this company, in or out of the event planning world. This was an office party of over 125 coworkers and their families, all who were expecting a tattoo artist there. I have several children between the ages of eight and 15 coming up to me and asking where the artist was. Parents had to calm their children down and thankfully the professional caterer who was there was able to utilize the empty space for part of the dinner. This helped to minimize the impact that the no-show of LA Henna could've caused. read more

Some people would tell her to do whatever she wanted and the henna designs were beautiful. People have to understand its henna and not a tattoo, there is no shading and stuff like that.
