Came for blood draw for lab work; appointment made online…read more Lot parking and easy access to front door. Great signage. Some guy (patient) walked out of a door inside, smiling at me more than a regular friendly smile. If you're a girl, then IYKYK. People come for various reasons. I just realized this includes getting tested for venerable diseases? That might explain him smiling at me....maybe he got good news? But I digress.... Finally I got called, and was set up for the blood draw. The lady poked me and could NOT get blood! She made me drink a cup of water. I should have brought my own water bottle. I don't trust water from a tap. Anyway, she's made me drink it. Made me worry that's going to affect my results. More stress and cortisol coursing through my body! She was nice but she expressed she was ready to go home. I hear her, but that always taints my reviews. Overall, fine. Easy appointment scheduling, parking, and efficient in person experience. But BRING YOUR OWN WATER! Results were posted next day.

This location doesn't stock pressure wrap to prevent bruising after a blood draw - I asked for it…read morebecause healthcare providers have told me that pressure wrapping is helpful. The technician told me it's a Quest corporate policy not to pay for pressure wrap. Sure enough, I got a bruise last time I was there. Also, their laboratories are so slow! It has been nearly three weeks and I don't have my results yet. I've called customer service repeatedly and they haven't given me an explanation. If you have another option, use it!

This really isn't a procedure you'd like to have to repeat!!!!!! Huge KUDOS to the Urologist Technician Sarah!!!! ....she is a great asset to this Company!!!! She has a very pleasing demeanor and a very compassionate aura about her. This helped me with having to redo this procedure!!!!!...... The Troy office definitely needs to get their equipment fixed so patients don't have to keep rescheduling!!!!! The reason I'm giving a 5 star is only because I'm giving Sarah a 5 star....

I've been going to MIU for almost 30 years. My first urologist doctor retired and now I'm seeing a…read morefresh young face that was recommended by his medical school Dean of the Einstein Teaching Hospital in New York. He is thorough, decisive, and able to handle my questions with exacting and supportive information. At the clinic I never experienced any significant delays. I saw some of the low ratings. I think some of that is due to the nature of the area being dealt with. For men, we never thought much about our plumbing ever giving us any problems and then when it does the procedures to correct seem somewhat invasive. Do Not be afraid to ask questions. They will answer when you ask. I had a procedure that required a catheter be inserted from my bladder through the penis for discharge of a kidney stone remnants and urine after ultrasonic destruction of a stone that would not go through the descending urethra from the kidney to the bladder. (sounds like fun so far, eh?) . Well the thing leaked. More fluids came out from the outside of the tube than from inside of the tube. It was a long night. I returned the next day to have the tube removed and asked the nurse removing the tube and cleaning up the mess, "how often do these things leak all over the place?" "Oh, it happens a lot, maybe like 20% to 30 % of the time." I asked why don't they tell patients that this might happen with the caveat of, probability of occurrence, in terms of something like "3 out of 10 people that have this installed will have leakage problems and what precautions (wear an adult diaper) should be taken." I was told "that would alarm the patients". NOT ME! Next time I will ask. I used to be squeamish about things like this, then I went through approximately 11 surgeries to get one replacement knee that wouldn't get infected. Never happened. I live with anti-biotics till death do us part and have lost about 75% usage of my left leg. Buts that a whole different story. I mention this for one reason. My worst experience in the 11 surgeries occurred twice at a world famous clinic in Minnesota.
