As a newly 26 year old I got kicked off of my parents health insurance a couple months ago and haven't gotten insurance yet. I live in Royal Oak and had to get a Covid test. I went to a drive thru urgent care to get a Covid test and they tried to charge me $140 since I have no insurance, so I left. Called a different urgent care for a Covid test, they said it would cost me $200. Unbelievable.. $200 to tell me whether I'm sick or not? I'd rather quarantine at that point. Welcome to Berkley urgent care! I was recommended here by a friend and wow when I tell you how different his phone call felt. I called about a test and they took down all my information and said they would call me back about details. Within an hour a doctor called me, talked me, set up a Covid test and prescribed me medicine. Even the nurse who gave me the Covid test was so sweet. I wasn't charged a penny for my Covid test and my medicine was pretty cheap. There are angels here. I highly recommend. read more

AVOID AT ALL COST!! Please do not come to this place!!! They have horrible service and are money hungry. I have done my annual physical and bloodwork here the last 2 years despite them not taking insurance for it and having to pay cash. Now this year in addition to not taking my insurance for the physical and bloodwork there is and additional $80 charge, PER PERSON for the bloodwork which has never been a thing. Last year they refused to sign off on my bloodwork because my cholesterol was higher, causing me to be charged by my employer. Also they poked my wife over 13 times trying to draw blood and you can see here veins from down the street. I will never be coming to this place again! read more

Update: This is no longer my go-to urgent care. I'm not sure if management has changed, but the NP I saw on Saturday handled a visit that should have been addressed differently. I called today after reviewing my results because the test I requested was not performed. I was open to discussing it, but that didn't seem to be the case on her end. I explained that the vitamin D test drawn was not the correct one for checking deficiency--it was done correctly during my visit in 2025. She insisted it was the same test and even stated that the system we were both looking at showed the same thing, as if I did not understand what I was reviewing. However, the system clearly shows otherwise. The test that was ordered was for hormone/active vitamin D levels, not for deficiency. If this is a small mistake--and I understand that mistakes can happen--the issue for me is that there was no willingness to acknowledge or correct it. There was also no consideration that the lab itself may have made an error. It took from Saturday to Tuesday just to receive the result of one blood test. After working a 12-hour shift, I came in because I had already been told the wrong test was done. While I understand other patients need care and didn't mind waiting, I was ultimately ignored instead of having a simple conversation to address the issue. After some time, I decided to leave and go to another urgent care for more attentive and thorough treatment. These are not the same tests--they measure different forms of vitamin D--and it was frustrating to be told otherwise. Update: Hours later, I received multiple calls from the office--none from the NP I originally saw. While I was told the issue was due to the lab switching their codes, there was still no acknowledgment of how the situation was handled. Even if this was a lab-related error, it does not address the provider's lack of listening or willingness to consider that the information in the system may not have matched what she believed. I was told we were both looking at the same thing, despite pointing out clear differences. Beaumont has been Corewell, including their labs, for at least two years now, so that explanation raises additional questions. Regardless, my concern is not just about where the error originated, but the lack of accountability and communication. I would prefer not to receive repeated calls providing conflicting or inaccurate information, especially when there has been no acknowledgment of the initial concern. Berkley Urgent Care - These are two different vitamin D test and one check deficiency and the other doesn't! - Urgent Care Near Me - Berkley, Michigan

In the summer of 2024 I felt pretty sick and went here to get a Covid test. It was a miserable rainy, cold day. I filled out all the paperwork and they took my driver's license. They told me it would be a quick wait. After about 20 minutes I went up to say I was leaving and they said, "Oh, they will call you back right away". From behind the desk, a worker called my name and told me, "We don't give Covid shots here". I said I wanted a TEST, not a shot. There was a hurried hushed conference behind the desk and more waiting. They finally called me back and gave me a decent exam and the Covid test. I was told the results would be available online. I left and was almost home when they called and told me "You left your driver's license here". No, I didn't "leave" it there - you failed to give it back to me! So I had to go back and slog through the puddles and the rain, still feeling awful. You would think they could at least have someone run it out to me. No test results. I called the office and it turned out they had entered my name wrong. I spoke to a manager, who told me they wouldn't bill me for the visit, sorry, blah, blah, blah. Do not walk, RUN away from this place. With so many other urgent cares nearby, there is no reason to subject yourself to the mistreatment, negligence, and appalling lack of professionalism that you will undoubtedly have the displeasure of enduring here. It's shocking to me that this "healthcare" facility (and calling it that IS generous) even still has a license to operate in the state of Michigan. Not only do the people that work here have no respect for their patients, that have outright contempt for them and don't even have the decency to try to hide it. I've been shamelessly lied to by staff here with no apology, misdiagnosed, and prescribed medication that I was allergic to/had interactions with other medications that I take. This resulted in needing to go to the ER and getting an emergency injection of steroids because I went into anaphylactic shock and my throat started swelling shut. The doctors and nurses/assistants are never the issue - they're always kind and listen sincerely. Always seen quickly and the place is clean. The other staff is where this review comes from. We get it, you hate your job. Not really an excuse to talk to patients (who are looking for URGENT CARE) like they're inconveniencing you from your side conversations with the other staff or texting conversations on your phone. Not sure if it's because they're all young 20s and haven't quite developed empathy or basic decency yet or what. The woman that was handling the calls yesterday (6/22) and today (6/23) was initially not the problem - until she was. My prescription was sent to a closed pharmacy despite me having multiple conversations about it going to an open one and the staff confirming it. I needed the prescription that night - or else I wouldn't have gone to urgent care and paid my copay. When 2 hours passed and I heard nothing, I called Berkley urgent care and the woman noted it was sent to the Walgreens, which I said it needs to go to CVS as I had told them - Walgreens is closed. She said she would let them know and it would get sent over. Cool. No issue. An hour later (urgent care now closed) and CVS still does not have the prescription. I don't get my medication despite going to urgent care for this reason specifically! I didn't need testing done. I had finally gotten the results earlier that day, I needed a prescription because it was a Sunday and I couldn't wait another day with an infection running rampant. I paid my copay for nothing, essentially. I call in the morning and the same woman answers. I ask her what happened. This then turns into a blame game on ME somehow - she said when I called she didn't know I wanted it sent to CVS instead. HUH? I literally told you it needed to go to CVS instead and YOU SAID you would let them know and it would get sent over. She claimed since it was in my chart that I use Walgreens that's why it was sent there. I told your staff and YOU that it couldn't go to Walgreens because they were closed at 6 pm - I saw you guys after 6 pm! ALL OF THE LOCAL WALGREENS WERE ALREADY CLOSED. I said this to them in person multiple times. They confirmed it would go to CVS. She then put me on hold as I said I wasted my time and my copay for nothing. She comes back and says "I confirmed it was sent over to CVS, but I'm sorry there's nothing else we can do about the copay since you were technically seen" - I ask her when was it sent over, she says "just now" - I laughed. That is irrelevant now, what are you not understanding? ALSO, I WAS ONLY SEEN TO GET THE PRESCRIPTION THAT NIGHT! Your staff initially dropped the ball - then you REALLY dropped the ball and LIED to me saying I didn't tell you to send it to CVS. She clearly made a mistake (which I told her happens) but this kind of mistake SHOULDN'T HAPPEN NOR SHOULD YOU AVOID RESPONSIBILITY AND BLAME THE PATIENT WHO DID NOT MAKE A MISTAKE. I should not have to double, triple, quadruple check with an urgent care if they're going to do their job properly. She still tried to fight me up until I told her to not make mistakes like this again or blame the patient when this was entirely their fault. I hung up the phone as she said "Yeah, but-". Unprofessional is an understatement. Negligent, neglectful, and manipulative seem more like it. I am now day 6 without an antibiotic and my original doctor who tested me and where I got my results from called me this morning to send over the prescription. I work all day and won't be able to get them until this evening. Thank you to Berkely Urgent Care for taking my money, lying to me so you could avoid the blame, and leaving a type 1 diabetic without an antibiotic for an infection. Do SO much better. read more

Office staff were very friendly and each time I have gone there, treating personnel were professional and attentive in regards to my issue! I even called and spoke to the front desk to make sure they send it before the pharmacy closed and they still did not send it. Would not recommend this urgent care to absolutely no one unless you don't care about your loved one. First the employees walk around as if it's not a place of business. Talking loudly about everything under the sun in their personal lives especially the 3 girls at the front. Completely unprofessional. Next we get taken to the back and waited 30 minutes to find out if my husband has the flu- was told this would only take 15 minutes. Then i go out to inquire about what is going on and they say "oh yeah it's negative". Quality of care was awful by everyone except the doctor. The other employees were acting like it's summer camp. I've had so much trouble with this office and their shady activity that I have to write a second review. Long story short, they made me pay out of pocket for something they could have submitted to insurance (confirmed by my insurance company). The office told me I had to submit the claim myself, insurance would send them a check and they would reimburse me. I wasn't happy, but I paid, submitted my claim to my insurance company and months later I received a letter (from my insurance company) stating my claim was approved, payment was submitted to BEC and that BEC was to reimburse me (same as what BEC told me). After not hearing from BEC for 2 weeks since I received the letter, I called to see what was going on and I had to leave a message for the office manager who wasn't in, but would be in the next morning. Crickets. About a week later I called again, was told the same thing and, again, crickets. I finally called a third time, left a message and someone finally called me back that day. After a long explanation and discussion with two people at the office and emailing them the letter from BCBS stating the claim was approved and paid to BEC, I was told a check would be waiting for me. Two days later I go to pick up the check, tell the receptionist why I was there (mind you, I've been polite this whole time) and she told me to "go sit down." She calls the office manager and then tells me that the claim was denied and they don't have the check. I told her why would two people tell me (one was syeda@berkleyuc.com and the other a nice guy), two days ago, to come pick up a check if the claim was denied? She told me someone called me twice about this. I told her no one called me and no one left me a voicemail. She smiled and said they called me from an 'express line,' whatever the heck that is. After I got home I checked my voicemail, old and new, and call log and there was nothing from them. She more or less called me a liar to my face, not only about them calling me, but about the whole reimbursement situation. I just can't believe that people can run a business like that. It's not small change, it's almost $300 dollars that I paid last November! Their front desk really needs to work on their approach, too. I was not as polite when leaving. I don't appreciate being called a liar, their office staff lying to me, nor them wasting my time. read more

This urgent care was wonderful until the last visit. I loved when Dr opened they were wonderful. My family all went friends and coworkers. I was sick with ears and throat saw A NP . She was argumentative got a lecture on antibiotics resistance. I did call spoke to office manager asked to speak with the owner. Week later never received a call . I was sicker went to family physicians received antibiotics and received great care . The only positive was the pharmacy at the urgent care . I also work in healthcare. Very disappointed to see all the negative reviews compared to 2 years ago . I hope the owner comes back and sees how it's being run. read more

So still ongoing with this urgent care they billed me for an additional $185 for "global fee urgent care centers" which my insurance had no recollection on since the EOB did not include it either. They are a scam for your money I should only owe the $35 co pay but they are trying to nickel and dime everyone. Still very upset with this urgent care even months after. I only know that this billing is wrong cause I called my insurance right away so happy I did because I'm sure calling the urgent care they would make up some crazy excuse to get me to pay it. DO NOT GO HERE. Even for Covid test I know plenty of places that do free testing. read more

Don't waste Your time coming here!!! They don't care about finding your illness. They tested me for flu rsv and Covid all came back negative. The girl who administered the test is not properly trained. I ended up having to go the hospital where I found out I had the flu. I started out going to a Beaumont Urgent Care and was told it would be 90 minutes before I could be seen. Decided to leave and called Berkley Urgent Care. Was told no wait so that's where I headed. I had to wait three hours to be seen my anyone here only for them to lose my urine sample that I came in for. They called me the next day to come in to give them another one. So not only did I have to wait three hours but then I had to come back the next day. They prescribed me medicine the day before so I asked if I could not come in to avoid being around all the Covid patients they had in there waiting to be tested and they told me I had to come back or I'd get charged again. read more

Worst medical experience ever. Some lovely people work here but the overall operation is incredibly mismanaged. I went for a work physical which I've always gone to them for- I drive 30 min out of my way because they used to be great. The lobby was full of sick patients there for tests, some not wearing masks. People waiting in cars weren't getting called in for appointments. They promised to send my results to my provider and are now holding them hostage because of a form that they failed to ask me to sign and "office policies" that they originally said were due to HIPAA but are not. The most aggravating part is that they truly do not care about your experience at all. Once they have their money, thats all that matters. read more

Very disturbing what they're running here. $100 for a rapid Covid test out of pocket regardless of your insurance and they pack everyone in their small waiting room. They have plexiglass in the waiting room which does absolutely nothing when you're packing Covid patients into one room. If you don't have Covid, you can get it going here. This place is an absolute hazard and the staff had zero plan on how to handle the amount of people. They're a Covid mill. By the way, they say all bad reviews are fake. Berkley Urgent Care is the best Urgent Care facility I have been to. Urgent Care offices are extremely useful and important and when done right they can be a very effective tool. I am so glad I found this place and am very lucky it's located so close to my house. I have visited around 4 or 5 times in the past two years and each time I have been treated with respect, received high-quality care, and felt listened to. The doctors that work there take time to listen to me and really try and help figure out what is wrong rather than just prescribing medications and leaving. I have never waited longer than 20 minutes in the waiting area and 15 minutes to see a doctor. They have a pharmacy in-house which makes things so much easier especially since the pharmacy at the Walgreens across the street is terrible. The waiting area is always very clean, tidy, and civilized. The receptionist is usually pretty friendly and the doctors are easy to talk to. Highly recommend. read more

Tried calling billing forever to pay my bill, phone number on statements was disconnected, office gave me a number and the billing line would never pick up, voicemail was full forever and when I could leave a message they wouldn't call me back, main office even said they were going to leave messages for them. Finally got a statement saying they were sending to collections. I called and told them I'd call the main office every 20 minutes until I could pay my bill. Surprise they walked over and talked to someone and I could finally pay my bill. read more

The nicest and cleanest urgent care I have ever been to! So happy to live in Berkley and have this nearby! After visiting a different doctors office and having a terrible experience I went to this urgent care looking for answers. They were very thorough and prompt in ordering tests and I was very relieved to visit an office that finally had a sense of urgency. They called me with each and every one of my test results as they received them, even if the results were negative! Can't tell you how much this put my mind at ease! Went in and they were great. It took a while but they were busy and it is flu season. I only wish they could do iv fluids but other than that they were great. That being said most urgent care don't do Ivs so not a big issue there and the wait was still much less then I have had at other places. I would def recommend them to anyone. read more

Went to UC at 8:45 doors locked. inside staff sitting laughing and lobby empty. Doctor was sitting with feet up. girl came to door as I knocked and shaking her head and said we are closed! I said sign says open till 9! She said we take last patient at 8:45 and I said yes it's 8:45! She said sorry closed and laughed! I said you think this is funny? What kind of UC closes before 9? I went in on Fourth of July for a UTI. They gave me the usual meds and sent me on my way. When I wasn't getting better, I went to my primary care doctor and she called them and realized they didn't send in my urine cultures to get tested at all. It's better than CVS minute clinic, but they are definitely a place that just gives you whatever drugs you need and they send you off. read more

Berkeley sent me the bill and I had to pay the entire bill out of pocket for something that would've been easily covered by insurance if it wasn't for their deficiencies. read more

Unfortunately I didn't get the name of the doctor (or any of the staff) that helped me, as we were a little worked up under the circumstances. My 4 year old cut her foot open on a Friday afternoon. I set out to Beaumont and in route I found this place and decided they might be better. I came in and we were seen very quickly. They have child friendly, themed rooms. The doctor that saw us was very concerned with my daughters comfort level. Not just in physical pain, but that she wasn't afraid. She was very quick and precise stitching up my daughters foot and took the time to make sure she was ok afterwards. We returned a week later to have the stitches removed. I did not make an appointment and although they were considerably busier that day, it was still very fast. We luckily got to see the same doctor, and she remembered my daughter and her fear from the week before. She again put her comfort first, which is amazing when dealing with a 4 year old. From the front desk personnel to the assistants and the doctor, we really appreciate them making this process as simple and easy as possible. And if the doctor happens to see this, my daughter says you guys can still be friends :) Thanks guys! read more

Waited over an hour and took calls and multiple emails to get my super bill. As a follow-up when they did drive through testing in August which they no longer do. they billed insurance for urgent care visit and sent a bill to me after I gave them grief about this visit for the copay. Extremely clean and efficient! I came in last minute for a tb test for nursing school. Every other urgent care and Oakland county health were on a shortage and would not administer them to anybody, so I was very grateful that they had plenty of stock and administered the test for only $20. My first visit I was here for about 15 minutes and most of that time waiting was only because they had to create an account for me. the second time I visited to get my test read, I was in and out in less than five minutes. I would absolutely visit this urgent care again if I needed any medical assistance because I've seen how clean and friendly the facility was read more
