We have used Henry's for 10 years and we continued to go back even after disappointing experiences because we felt that they were family-owned and a local business, so better to support them than the big box stores. Sadly, that has changed and we can no longer support them. I don't feel they are trustworthy. Appliance service has been very disappointing at BEST. We were sold a product with a missing part and were told multiple times that the part would be supplied, but it never was and we had to continually chase them. The missing part that was never even supplied, actually damaged the brand new appliance. We were sold an appliance that never worked properly and it was admitted to us finally that it was a manufacturer's defect, but no compensation of any sort was ever even offered. So there's two appliances that we purchased at full price, that ended up being not being as functional as they were supposed to be. Most recently, we were encouraged to spend over $750 dollars on fixing an old appliance only to have it break once and for all 2 months later. We had specifically asked if it was worth spending all that money on this unit or whether we should just buy a new one and we were Definitively recommended to do the repair. Now I have had to buy a new replacement appliance at the cost of what I spent on the repair plus $100 - a mere $1665 out of my pocket that I didn't really have to flush down the proverbial toilet. Their response to learning that the repaired appliance died? 'We (conveniently) have a sale coming up next week. Nope. No more. Hello big box store. And in discussing this recent terrible experience with friends and neighbors, come to find out that they have also had very similar experiences. we have experienced very poor service from Henry's. We purchased a refrigerator with a defective ice maker. it didn't make ice but made a repetitive grating sound that drove us nuts. It was difficult to schedule repair service with the store. They only service our area one day per week. When we finally received service the replacement ice maker did not function. Henry's insists, nevertheless, that we pay for the new ice maker. Can you imagine???? I would think carefully before doing business with this store. read more

Worst. Experience. Ever. Why is there not zero stars? I ordered a dishwasher and washer / dryer with this company. I thought I was doing the right thing giving the job to a small store instead of a big chain. Big. Mistake. They happily took my payment in full a MONTH before the installation was meant to happen (in hindsight I should've told them 50% on competition but I had a weak moment). I didn't hear a word from them for weeks after payment, until the date was nearing when I started emailing asking for some information please (!). I was told they were on track with the original date they'd promised. So far, so good. The morning of that date (no kidding, about an hour before the installation was due to happen - and only after I emailed again asking for an update) I was told that, no, the dishwasher wasn't in stock. AND they didn't know when it would be. But don't worry, we're still going to install the washer / dryer you ordered. Ummm... okay. So I canceled the order for the dishwasher and asked for immediate refund (out of principal) and then had to go out while my wife waited for the installers. She called me after they had left. They literally left the washer / dryer in our mudroom (instead of the closet that is designed for a washer / dryer) because "they couldn't fit it in". This is AFTER I've told the salesperson (Sue) to please not give me any appliances any bigger than our last ones for exactly this reason. So now, after a month of waiting, I'm left with no dishwasher and a huge washer / dryer in the mudroom, without the slightest idea what to do next. I guess I call a handyman to help me get it in, at more expense. Appalling. Never again. Avoid like Covid-19. read more

I rarely write a review (which is not positive) but this one is deserved. Henry's has refused to do a repair which Kitchenaid will pay for (all Henry's expenses - with me paying Henry's travel cost to my home) I purchased a Kitchenaid Dishwasher from Henry's because of their reputation. They suggested a Kitchenaid Dishwasher with stainless tub (because that is better than a non-stainless tub they said when purchased). The stainless tub cracked (which is under lifetime warantee from Kitchenaid) and Henry's is the only repair place of this part in The Berkshires and they refused to do this repair. I am now left with a broken dishwasher and I cannot have it repaired (since Henry's is the only factory trained repair place recognized by Kitchenaid, in our area). I will now spend $1300+ to replace this broken dishwasher instead of Henry's doing what they promised. SHAME ON HENRY'S. read more

I always thought supporting local was good but not when taken advantage of. Should be a zero star. It is all about the purchase. Tried to get replacement filter for refrigerator purchased through them ( amongst other appliances)and the would order with them and was going to be gouged for 2 1/2 times the cost and got a three pack for the same cost. Provided prompt service but going into the office, there is one person that is pleasant. Otherwise an in service on customer relations and communication may fit the bill. Stay far away from this company. I've been a Yelp user for many years but have never written a review but I just couldn't sit back and let Henry's off the hook here. You think you're doing a good thing by supporting local businesses and avoiding Lowes and Home Depot but I wish I went to Decker and Beebe for my oven purchase. Henry's was supposed to deliver my oven on April 30th between the hours of 3-5pm and take away my old oven. Simple right? Well, I hadn't heard from them leading up to the delivery and decided to call them the morning of and they said there has been a slight change and the drivers will be there between 2-4pm. They showed up at 1pm. Fortunately I was home but what if I wasn't and was going to leave work early to be there for my 3-5 delivery only to find out they showed up 2 hours early. This is when things get even better as the oven they delivered has a big dent in the side of it. I told them I am not accepting that and they said thats fine but they are going to take away that oven and will bring one thats not dented next week. I asked if I could keep this one until next week and they said no. I already had gone 6 days without an oven and it was smack dab in the middle of the quarantine so I really needed it. I decided to agree to keep the oven and have them bring parts to fix it. So now I paid for a brand new oven which needs parts already. I asked for a discount and they said no and I feel that is unfair. I just want a new oven without a big dent but who knows how long it would take for them to deliver a new oven without any problems so I feel like I have to keep this one. On May 11th I called and they said the part for the oven was arriving on Wednesday May 13th and would contact me to come install. Never heard from them. I called on Friday the 15th and said they are still waiting for the part. On June 2nd I called again and the same lady who always picks up said they have the part arriving "next week". This lady never apologizes and gives a total attitude to me when I'm on the phone with her like I did something wrong. It is now June 24th and no one from Henry's has called me once since they brought a badly dented oven to my house and wouldn't refund me any money. 2 months. I'm new to the area and looking to establish relationships with a few "essential" businesses - a company that sells and services electric appliances being one of them, as I love to cook and my kitchen needed an overhaul. After getting recs from my contractors, I went to Henry's and was very fortunate to have Camryn - the store manager - assist me. While I'd done plenty of my own research and felt well-prepared, Camryn knew that much more. Critical - for me - was in choosing appliances that perform well and also hold up. She was able to steer me to an oven, dishwasher, and microwave that Henry's was well-acquainted with based on its long-term relationship with the manufacturer. Henry's services everything they sell-- super important - and I would strongly recommend their reasonably priced extended warrantees. Of note, when the delivery of my new oven was unexpectedly delayed, Henry's supplied a "loaner" until it arrived. No prob. And finally, Henry's delivery team was friendly, professional, and knew exactly what they were doing. The two guys I met had been with the company for many years; that says a lot! read more

Need a repair--watch out! I purchased a new dishwasher that didn't work properly. The manufacturer recommended Henry's as an authorized service provider and paid for the repair, but Henry's charged me $228 to "come to my house". The technician just ordered new parts, without checking to find that original part was simply not plugged in. While here, I asked them to look at a problem with my stove. Their technician, who seemed inexperienced, again just started replacing parts rather than diagnosing the problem. He even acknowledged that the replacements were unnecessary. After three tries and several trips back and forth, he found the right part. Total bill of over $1600!!!. They even billed me $45 when technician used one of his tools to lift up stove. (They did deduct for one of the parts but would make no further adjustments). Service manager was rude and unhelpful. First time writing a review because I absolutely had to make sure people are aware of the services they may receive. Bought a fridge from Henry's, paid a $60 delivery fee. In hindsight should have asked what that entailed. Delivery guys came and found out quickly that delivery was just dropping it off at the front door. I then asked what the additional cost would be for installation and they told me $200. Refused to pay $260 total for installation, had them drop it off. Called Henry's to question it. They said they had never heard of a price like that and something seemed wrong, and to speak to manager. Took me three days of manager dodging my messages to finally get her on the phone, she gave me the run around, kept adding on fees per staircase, wouldn't give straight answer on why her delivery drivers were throwing random quotes at me, then said there is nothing she could do until October. Great service. If you are an appliance company you need to be specific about what delivery entails, which they were not. Also hoping their delivery drivers arent scamming people on the side. Sucks because it's such an easy fix to run a local business correctly, especially when the business is much needed in today's economic climate, not the way to keep business read more

Last summer they were really great about selling us an air conditioner until they couldn't deliver until September so we had to cancel, and now we went back trying to buy the same air conditioner they have added a delivery and installation charge and are giving me a hard time about the dimensions of the window. Untrained "technicians" that do not know what they are doing. One of the "techs" could not get the door to close properly on a refrigerator after multiple visits. He said, "It is supposed to be that way." A quick Google search provided the solution: bad seal, lubricate hinges, and defrost for 1 day. The guy from Henry's didn't try or suggest any of these. He didn't even bring the right screws and had to go to a hardware store to get them! They are nice enough, but they don't know what they are doing. Look elsewhere for service. read more

I would love to give Henry's Electric a good review, but 2 things stand in my way: While they are incredibly keen to sell you brand new high-end appliances, if one doesn't work (which often happens with a big order) they send a tech who gives it a cursory look--says it's working fine. They refuse to believe the customer's experience. I am now lugged with an LG washing machine that doesn't work, and when I asked that they replace it (I have owned it for 10 days) HE implies by their "no can do" that I am lying and trying to put one over. Delivery was late, then they were late in coming back to the house to take the doors off the fridge to get in the house. Blamed me and the contractor. Having bought a houseful of appliances from them, I was unhappy to find that their service was patchy and their billing obnoxious. First, my induction cooktop was faulty: several controls wouldn't work until tried several times. The serviceperson claimed that that was normal, and not until the sales rep for the brand came to my house and verified that it was not did I get a new cooktop (the guy who installed it was great, however). Next, my new dishwasher was apparently clogged; the serviceperson came, unclogged it, as he thought, and left. I ran the dishwasher the same day and it gave the same error message, I called and he came back out. They billed me for the second visit, considering it "user error," not under warranty, because the second visit had not required a new part. When I tried to understand how that might be, over the course of a month, I got a bunch of smooth talk ("dishwashers should only be used to sanitize what are basically prewashed dishes"), and, abruptly, a bill threatening me with legal action to collect a $95 bill that was only a month old. read more

This was the worst appliance purchasing experience of my entire life. $40K purchase for a new house. Paid 6 months in advance so that the appliances would be available when we were ready. When I called for delivery they told me it would take 3 weeks because they were too busy. When they delivered the appliances---there was no dishwasher! They sold my dishwasher that I had paid for. Now I'm waiting for a dishwasher because its now out of stock. The wine cooler had no front ordered so we are waiting for that. The 2 garbage disposals didnt fit the farm sinks. They ordered them with the wrong collars. When I called, they said it would be faster for me to order them (and pay for them!!) directly from the manufacturer. These guys suck. They are always friendly. They generally complete their work in a timely fashion. And their work is always very solid. And they stand behind their job. It is always easy to reach the company principles and scheduling an appointment is no problem. They have made their service simple and easy to access. These are responsible people.
