My friend and I discovered this little hidden gem on our way back from Myrtle Beach. It's such a quaint little place and so clean!! We arrived just before breakfast was to end and we were seated immediately and greeted with such kindness. We ordered and it wasn't long after that we had our plates right in front of us. Wow! Found this place several years ago and have been there many times as I have frequent travel on I-74 between Charlotte and the coast. Do yourself a favor and try this place - everything is homemade and the servings are plentiful. I've tried a variety of menu items and was never disappointed! Fun atmosphere too. read more

This is the quiet little place in a quiet little town. I ordered a BLT burger with fries, the burger was okay, it was marginally better than a fast food burger. The fries were fresh cut fries and they were pretty tasty. My only complaint about the place was they handed me the bill and it was around $12 and it included a surcharge for credit card use, which I was okay with but I wasn't going to use a credit card, and tax. I go to pay and hand her a $20 bill and she hands me back five ones. I assume she automatically took out a $2 tip. My annoyance with this is that I was actually going to give her a $3 tip! I don't like it when businesses do that, and it ended up hurting her. read more

Excellent food, service and prices! We stopped by for breakfast on the way back home from the beach. It was definitely worth the extra few minutes off our route! We have enjoyed many meals here. But we have noticed the quality (flavor) of the food has gone down. Grits have way too much butter in them, eggs have little to no flavor and the bread they use for toast and French toast is like cardboard. Found this gem through Yelp when traveling through Rockingham for work. Southern hospitality at its best...had a delicious sausage and cheese omelette with a side of bacon - because the only true side to meat is meat. Cooked perfectly - no frills - just dang good breakfast food. The waitress made great conversation which is priceless when you travel alone all the time. Went here on a Sunday morning around 930. Based on the reviews we expected it to be crowded. We got worried when only two people were dining and actually they weren't eating, just drinking coffee. Based on the pictures on yelp, I decided on the breakfast sandwich, which was reasonably priced at $2.99. I was told there were no longer making homemade buns or bread, but the biscuits were homemade. So I decided on the biscuit. When it came out, it was the size of a slider and square. It was so small my egg was too big for the "biscuit". Highly unlikely that the biscuit was homemade. I asked for over easy and when they brought it out, the yolk was all over the plate. The bacon was tasty and crisp. My honey ordered the breakfast burger, which was supposed to be a steak burger with egg. He ordered over easy and it was over cooked and no yolk. The steak burger was a frozen hamburger patty. At least he was able to dip his burger in my yolk! Lol One last thing, when they brought my ticket to sign, there was a surcharge for .41 that was added on that wasn't on my bill. I'm assuming it's for using my debit card. We now know why it wasn't crowded. The waitresses were super sweet though. read more

Fresh flowers in the vase at each table told us things were going to go well. We have never tried "fried green beans" and the ample small serving was enough for two. I had the Rueben sandwich with sauerkraut, thousand island dressing etc on toasted rye bread. Fantastic is one of many similar descriptions. My wife had turkey breast sandwich with bacon, jalapeno.
