    Fishing dock Morning breeze

I love nature! Came out to volunteer for a cycling event was able to just relish in the beauty of nature. Today is really a fall kind of day. The morning breeze, sun is shining, people out fishing, jogging, and camping can't get more peaceful than this. This would be a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and become one with nature.

One of my favorite hiking spots around Memphis. The lake as well as the woods is nice. The woody trail around the lake is about 8 miles, shared by bikers and hikers. You can certainly find some wildlife here. Saw some wild turkeys last fall/winter but I have yet to see a deer.

Herb Parson's Lake was a great place to take my Kayak out. It's a pretty lake and the boat traffic was at a minimum. Rumor is that the pressure on the fish from all the local fisherman has made this Lake a little less desireable for fishing. However, it was clean and beautiful. Go check it out for yourself and if you catch some big fish please let me know.

Beautiful scenery and the 7 mile trail around the lake is great for hiking and mountain biking. I've done both and had an amazing time!!

You will find a few picturesque bridges along the way and the trails are well defined and easy to navigate. This park is linked to the Germantown Greenway so, you can run/hike/bike here for miles. It is a beautiful park. The park has an adequate amount of spots to park in in its free private lot. You will find picnic tables and benches along the section of the park that runs along the lake, a very select few of which have a small shelter over them. I cannot confirm or deny if the lake is stocked or not, but there were a lot of people fishing there during my visit. One negative of the park, that it is out of its control is that certain of it areas are prone to flooding after a rain. It is nothing too bad though. This park is well maintained and is a diamond in the rough. I really enjoyed it. It lacks many of the amenities that I look for in a park, nut I took it for what it was, a nature trail park, and found enjoyment in that. It does not have any playgrounds and I could not find any restrooms. There aren't any other recreation activities either such as tennis, basketball or green space, but this park works and I highly recommend checking it out if you are looking for a nice place to hike or relax on a small lake.

From park slides and swing days with the kids when they were little, to adventures in the wooded trail in the hidden areas, softball games, Pokemon Go days, to parades, 4th of July celebrations, the list goes on and on. I've probably walked 500 miles or more on these trails. The trails around the park are fantastic. You meet so many great people on any trek around the park. They keep the ponds stocked well with fish and there is a dock that takes you out to the middle of the largest pond. Please pay attention to the catch limits though. There is a dog park, many covered pavilions, grills to use for cooking, a very cool, all inclusive playground for the kids, and tons of baseball fields. They do Christmas lights around the Holidays that are pretty. The police presence is always pretty high. There is usually a cop in the park at all times and they do not play if you step out of line here. I dig that. We are very lucky to have this safe space for all families to visit and have fun. I cannot confirm or deny if the pond is stocked, but the city does allow it to be fished. You will also find a playground area with a medium sized jungle gym that has a bunch of slides, monkey bars, and a bridge. There is also monkey bars, a sand digger, a balance pole, a traditional and toddler swing. The area is lined with wood chips and can get rather muddy when wet. Under some shade trees you will find a couple of picnic tables and grills. There is free street parking on one side of the park and a private lot on the other. The park is located off of a main road, in between a couple of neighborhoods. The good news for caregivers is though that the playground area is fenced in. It is a well-maintained park and appeared to be a well-kept secret too. There was not anyone else there during my visit. The most popular part of the park by far, is its dog park. It is a membership park that is divided into two separate off-leash sections. This is a nice, low key park that I found enjoyable. It is not a destination park, but still has a lot to offer visitors.
