Roy's son David who I believe has taken over the business, has done a great job bringing the news in an electronic form as well to the Galt & Herald areas. Now I'm wondering if perhaps most of the reviews are fake, as they don't represent my experience at all. I run a small business and I reached out in early April to see if Stephanie was taking new clients. She said that she could help me. Things started off great, as I was promptly sent a link to upload my documents. After reviewing my files, Stephanie said that she would need the help of a colleague to complete my return. I agreed, and we filed an extension. Now, two months have passed. I've reached out to Stephanie multiple times over text and I've left voice messages. She has not returned a single one of my calls, aside from the initial one, and she waits days, to get around to responding to texts, if she responds at all. She has blamed her colleague for not reaching out to me, and takes no responsibility herself. After wasting hours uploading documents and trying to work with her, I've come to realize that she has no intention of completing my taxes. This is beyond disheartening, and has added tons of stress to an already stressful situation. I expressed my concerns to her multiple times over the past few weeks, while trying to resolve this issue, but she doesn't seem to care. Her website mentions a "hero discount." I'm a veteran, but that doesn't seem to matter. Her services mention, "small business up to corporate" but she couldn't manage to figure out how to file for my business, which is definitely a small business. The claims that are made on her website don't reflect my experience with her. Please beware that you are taking a risk if you decide to go to her for your taxes.

My household's relationship with Softcom over the past 7 years has been quite a roller coaster…read more My wife and I moved to rural Galt in 2016 and were prepared to accept the realities of rural internet offerings. We had realistic expectations of less bandwidth and higher prices. Though not ideal, such was the reality. For many years, we paid $100-$110/mo for 8-10Mbps Down and 2Mbps Up, and managed to get by with this bandwidth while both working remote in technology. In the years that passed, we'd received relatively stable and expected speeds and an average customer service experience. But the lack of improvement in bandwidth took its toll over time. In 2022, we had the option to leave Softcom for a similarly priced offering at 20x the download speeds and about 5x the upload speeds. This alternative offering worked out well for us for many months until we began to receive notifications of bandwidth throttling. As my wife and I both needed unlimited data plans in order to continue our work lives, we listed and reviewed currently available providers in the area and found that Softcom now has much higher speed offerings at similar and/or lower prices. We made the decision to re-subscribe to Softcom, and volunteered to beta test their new speeds at 400Mbps Down and 30Mbps Up. After a few months, we're very satisfied with the new speed and price offerings that Softcom is currently providing. It seems like the customer service has also taken a step forward as well. The average American household broadband speed in 2022 is 119Mbps. We are taking away 1 star on this review due to Softcom's sluggish innovative pace over the past half decade to help the local rural communities reach this average. That said, I think Softcom is finally heading in the right direction.

I loved my major but I just didn't love the lifestyle. I worked 60+ hour weeks and was under-appreciated. I started searching jobs and articles about the best and stable jobs in the U.S. and the first thing that I found on google was information about federal jobs. While I've always heard of being a civil servant, I didn't realize what exactly it meant. I did my research and realized that I wanted to work for the government because it was rewarding and had amazing benefits and job security. I reached out to Anita, and she really gave me a lot of information about the application process for federal jobs. She was extremely patient with me. We had multiple conversations via email and phone over the next two months. I started applying to every job that I qualified for and applied for about 5 months (patience is a virtue). In May of 2016, there was a position as a clerk and only paid $32,000 but I applied to it anyway. In July 2016, I interviewed and was chosen for the position. I was hesitant to accept because I had a bachelors degree and was taking a HUGE pay cut, but I did it anyway, and I don't regret it one bit. Long story short, I was a GS-4 clerk for a year and three months before I was promoted to a position that I had applied to for a Claims representative GS- 5 that would lead me to a GS-10 after a year and nine months. Only 3 months into the claims representative position, I was promoted to a position I applied to as a disability claims examiner (my current position). The position starts as a GS-7 and in about a year and nine months, I will be a GS-11. Essentially, I went from a GS-4 to a GS- 7 in less than a year and a half and in total will have gone from a GS-4 to a GS-11 in only 3 years and 4 months. I'm not sure if it was luck, but it was definitely patience, persistence, and help from Anita. I really recommend Anita, as she knows tricks and ways of composing resumes that'll get their attention and provide you with a potential life long career.
