The worst experience for tax preparation,we were discriminated and humiliated ,i truly recommend going somewhere else

Don't waste your time and your money with herdz tax pros. Javier Hernandez is the worst Accounted that I ever had. He is not honest and did terrible job. when I called him to get estimate how much he's going to charge me. He says it's going to be around $500. I asked for appointments and he rescheduled my appointment three times then. He ask me to file an extension because he is busy, he sent me new appointment three days before the due date of file tax. I came to his office and gave him all my information. He told me to come back in two hours. It will be ready. when I come back, he Sayed that he is going to charge me $1500 for it. When I ask what happened to the $500, he says it was just estimate. I did a lot of work. I didn't have the time to find another Accounted. I have no choice just to pay him $1500. When I checked his work, it was incorrect many errors. I just submitted it. Then I got a letter from IRS that I overpaid, and they give me refund of $1200. I forgot to pick up hardcopy of the income tax when I asked him if he could send me one, he told me he charges $50 for federal copy and $25 for state copy. He is not a guy that you can trust, he is unprofessional, not honest and overcharged. Please keep away from this guy. read more

Who said doing taxes had to be dreadful? This was probably the most fun (and informative) tax filing we've ever done. Did not have a great experience there last year. I remember having an appointment at 5 and having to wait an hour. I was also there for guidance in some additional tax related services and was given wrong advice. I was having issues with a specific procedure, and even when I called the IRS, they said the person that helped me with my taxes (Herdz) was misinforming me. read more

I have so much to write that I won't even have space to explain how horrible my experience was. Now I have to pay $2,500 to the IRS. He took me to his personal CPA but I will still file a complaint. To top it off he is now charging me for the amended form that fixed his mistake which was $200 that he said he is not liable for. So add that to the total. He now changed his story saying I didn't want to pay taxes in the beginning and all he did was try to help me. He could've just done his job right since the beginning. All we needed was paper work done properly not a loop hole. When I told him he lost a customer he responded with "IT IS WHAT IT IS" Right on Javier great customer service. read more

I'm not really a "yelper" but had to come by and just leave some love for my guy Javier at Herdz Tax! A friend recommended me to him back in 2018 & it's 2022 and I still keep coming back. I love this office so much, the ladies he works with are beyond kind (you kind of feel like you're apart of the family in this office) & I've never been rushed. My acting career has ebbed & flowed through the years & Javier always makes sure we are able to write things off that I didn't even think about pertaining to my career. He is extremely thorough & you can tell he really cares about his clientele. I was unprepared with all my numbers today & he was super patient with me & didn't make me feel bad or hurried. I looked into and called A LOT of tax services all around Southern California trying to find someone for our specific needs (small business and personal taxes). I'm so glad I came across Herdz Tax Pros! From the first phone call I had with Javier, I was put at ease. He answered all of my questions and addressed all of my concerns. Javier made filing our (very late) taxes a smooth process when we met him in person. My partner and I were a bit worried about filing because we thought we'd have to owe THOUSANDS in taxes after using one of those tax calculators online, and we also thought we'd have to pay a penalty fee. After a few minutes of meeting Javier, he was quick to ensure us everything would be ok. Javier at Herdz Tax Pros was great, very personable, and SO reasonable in his pricing, so I highly recommend him. It is a family run business that's been around for many years, so there is a friendly family vibe, but very professional. He got me some great tax credits and gave me pointers on alternative options that would not attract as much IRS attention, while still getting me every legally allowable tax credit. As a struggling actor with various sources of income that was important to me. He explained everything and where he was putting each deduction and why. Others don't do that. And I got a great refund! The only thing is I think Covid precautions could be a little tighter. Customers can opt for either doing their taxes in person or remotely or dropping off tax documents, and that is great to have a choice. I preferred doing it in person, as we hadn't met. They say they disinfect everything after each use. But the mask wearing was somewhat lax, though they will put one on if you request it. Other than than the mask wearing hiccup, I give Herdz Tax Pros two thumbs up! I will go again! read more

I am a researcher. An extensive, Gooogler and Yelper. Before I make a decision on any business, projects, or picking an outing spot, I call, I inquire and I research all that I can. This is the first time doing taxes with my husband with our children as dependents and I was SO SO confused about a lot of things tax related. The dependents, the tax ID application, the ten ninty what form??... I got so many 'advices' and 'know it all' comments from my coworkers to family to strangers. And it left me even more confused. So this is where my previous statement comes in handy, I yelped and yelped and yelped. Then I called a HANDFUL of places. I even stayed on the phone with them for 15-20 mins trying to get an understanding of all these things they were telling me. Then I googled to see if what they told me was true. So many places gave me 'answers' some were very useful but some left me scared and some even left me feeling like I had just met them up in an ally with a baggie given to me. Mind you these were places with 4 1/2 stars and more. BUT, Javier. Javier, left me with a great impression. He was also the first one I called and I felt really good about him but I wanted to explore more. So after speaking to all these other CPAs, I called him back freaked out. LOL. but he took the time to explain to me calmly about everything I asked and listened to my 'fears'. After two cancelled appointments (from my end, don't judge me, I have two kids under two) and one rescheduled time later we ended up in his office. Oh my gosh. We left so happy and impressed beyond what we thought was possible for filing taxes. The process took awhile but only because he was so thorough with everything and supppeeerr accommodating to the hurricane we brought. I mean our son. He actually cares!! He is so personable and also straightforward. Such great quality. Again, we left so happy. We have and we will recommend him to everyone we know!! Also he told us about the BOMB ass smoothie place downstairs. (They have vegan/non dairy options!! But that is for another review.) He even stayed and let us treat him to a smoothie!
