We had an emergency situation where a will and trust needed be created in hours. Joe and Kathy gave us advice on how to immediately make an handwritten will, what it needed to say, and how to validate it. This was on a Friday just in case. They offered to come to the hospital on Sunday morning before the surgery with a full will and trust to sign for a multi million dollar estate. This firm looked too good to be true. I had a phone consult with Kathy, and I was delighted by her knowledge of living trusts and all the services they provide over time working with you. She emailed forms for me to go over and said to text her for time to review them with me. I texted her back and never heard back from her. I waited for a bit and then sent an email to follow up. No response. So, I called the office to set up another consultation and then I did not receive a return phone call. Disappointed. I feel if they do not want to have you as a client, they at least should have the courtesy to say so. read more

This firm came so highly recommended I really looked forward to their help. But. If I could give no stars I would. I called twice to find a suitable day and time for a phone interview. Very nice and accomodating. But they didn't call. I called again and they didn't answer, went to voicemail. Strange that a business not answer the phone during business hours, but ok. I left a message with phone number (in case they had wrong number) to please call to reschedule the phone appt. No response. I called three more times, different weekdays, different times. To your first point, you NEVER informed us it WAS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY for a "face to face in office visit" for my mother or for me and my siblings. If it was so important, How come you didn't enforce a telephone conference call? That way, we could have finally met Joseph mchugh, the real lawyer in your firm, whom my siblings and I have NEVER EVER MET OR EVER HAD ANY CORRESPONDENCE!!! To your second point in your post, I did sign and return your "notary sign trust". And in return, you mailed it back to me in a nice binder along with your business cards. THAT BINDER IS THE FINAL COPY OF THE DRAFT. Why didn't you make the copies AT THAT TIME before you mailed the completed binder to me? To your third point, I told you I NEVER RECEIVED A LETTER FROM ASSESSOR'S OFFICE via our telephone conversation last week (February 23, 2022). Your firm should have sent the necessary documents IMMEDIATELY to the assessor's office way back in 2020, instead of me waiting for this so called "assessor's notice", which again I NEVER RECEIVED. That's your job to anticipate the so called, "assessor's notice" and act proactively!!! To your fourth point in your post, I scanned all 50 pages and emailed them directly to the tax collector's office myself. Does it make sense for me to email my 50 page document to you and then you forward them to the tax collector's office, when I have the direct email address to the tax collector's office? Plus, it's an added delay on your part to forward the documents to the tax collector's office. Quite frankly, I was fearful you would charge me for your INCOMPETENCE. To your final point, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO MISUNDERSTANDING ON MY PART!!! My father was in desperate need of Medi-Cal coverage and was already admitted into a SNF (Medi-care only covers 20 days!). Kathy not only met with me on a Saturday, she was kind and patient enough to answer all our questions. The consultation lasted 3 hours and she did not charge us a dime for her time! Amazing, truly a winner and someone who cares about her job and the elderly. We had a bad experience with a lawyer who charged $400 for a 1-hour consultation and didn't even answer all our questions. Kathy was the exact opposite and everything we were looking for. Compassionate, patient, understanding, knowledgeable and very, VERY communicative. Don't hesitate to hire her and her team, they will answer every doubt, help you at every crisis moment, and answer texts and emails promptly. I've never worked with a law firm and knew nothing about Elder Care prior to any of this happening with my father. But they guided me every step of the way during the Medi-Cal application process, instructed me on the best ways to handle situations with Medi-Cal, the banks, the SNF, so on. Never have I felt so "hand held" and appreciated every second of it. You just don't get that kind of service anymore. Everyone nowadays is just out to get your money and don't really seem to care about your core issues. LA Law Center was absolutely the opposite. The Medi-Cal process went very smoothly and very quickly with minimal hiccups. I couldn't of done any of it without Kathy and Diana's help. I may say this over and over but she really made herself readily available for any questions and concerns at any time of the day, I was just blown away. Even my paranoid stupid questions, she answered every single one patiently and professionally. I couldn't of ask for better correspondence and better transaction. We found Joe & Kathy through Yelp and cold-called them. Diana answered the phone and asked for some information and I assumed she'd have someone call us back... eventually. She said Kathy was the one to talk to since she handles "triage" of new cases, and that she was currently busy on the phone. I didn't expect to actually be able to talk to someone useful (my experience with lawyers leads me to believe they like to make you wait to increase the perception of their worth), so we were getting ready to hang up and Diana said, "hang on a sec, it looks like Kathy is done with her call."
