I have two boys who live at HERE, and based on their experience so far, they are really enjoying it, especially the location, which is super convenient to campus and everything around Tuscaloosa. We recently had an issue come up, and I just wanted to say how much we appreciate the way management handled it. They were understanding, fair, and willing to work with us to find a reasonable resolution. This place is AWFUL. The DO NOT CARE about anything except getting a rent check. The parking garage gates have not worked since move in day in August and my student has had to park elsewhere even though we are forced to pay $75/month. There is mold, flooding, and constant thermostat issues. The unit we stay in is over $4000!! I'd rate it a 0, but it's not allowed on here. The management refuses to do anything about the gates and will not reply to the mold issue. It's unsafe, expensive, and horribly managed. read more

My son has had a great experience living at HERE for the past seven months. We have been extremely satisfied with his apartment, property amenities and location. Destinie and Kitaurus went above and beyond in handling our renewal and transfer to another unit so my son could room with his best friend at UA this upcoming school year. I felt like this place had shady rental practices. I would say AVOID this place! I should have listened to all the negative feedback on google and on Alabama parents Facebook boards about their mismanagement and the overall disarray at this place. In our instance they said they had a 3x3 unit available. We completed the lease then almost 2 MONTHS later they called and said they oversold and have to move child to premium unit and that the premium unit is $150 more. Their lease is written ambiguously so that it doesn't address what happens if they have to "upgrade" you to a premium room, only that they will move you to a "comparable room" or if they have to downgrade you, you will pay lower "market" (although "market" changes and isn't what is listed on their website). They told me their price updates "weekly" as units are leased. Sooo.....even though I signed the lease almost 2 months ago, they are charged us current "market" price which was $150 more then when we signed and they wouldn't budge. They basically said accept the new lease price and void the old one or they'll void it anyway and you can go elsewhere. I felt they screwed us into a predicament where all you can do is accept their ransom as all other units close to school are sold out so if we went elsewhere for a similar place, my child and roommates couldn't be together. Even shadier as they asked us to VOID our initial lease and sign and new one since they KNOW what they are doing isn't correct based on the lease we signed But honestly then it becomes do you want to spend the money to litigate to hold them to the lease... So spare yourself the heartburn. Read the reviews and go elsewhere. read more

Only lived here a week, and numerous problems. Received filthy apartment with dust and paint all over. Painter, didn't cover anything, and all cabinets, floors, and furniture streaked in paint. BIGGEST PROBLEM IS THE TRASH! I am including pictures of what the hallways looks like 8 days after move in. Trash is full and no place to put trash. This is a major safety issue and unacceptable. I first posted my review 7 months ago and it has just gotten worse and worse over time. All of the same problems persist, and more. In March we went without any working elevators for two whole weeks, including during spring break so residents were stuck carrying luggage and belongings up 7+ flights of stairs, and for nearly two months now there has only been one working elevator for the entire 7 story building. They don't give updates on the elevators anymore, last i heard was a resident in the groupme said the office gave an estimate of may 11 for them all to be fixed. They have been broken since MARCH 10th. Oh and BTW the one "working" elevator breaks down at least once a day so i wouldn't really call that working. They claim lightning struck the building and that "parts are on backorder", same excuse they say about everything that doesn't work in this building. UNION on Frank had the same issue with a lightning strike and the elevator going out, yet it was fixed within a day. Building and parking garage randomly has pipes burst, so be prepared for your room to possibly flood at any random time. The fire alarms will go off for no reason, no one is pulling them, they just go off and we have to wait for the fire department to turn them off, sometimes taking 40+ minutes, this has happened at 2am and even 7am. The noise from outside is unbearable, I can hear normal volume conversations from floors below me. Parking garage gates still don't work and never had, management replies to reviews saying that its being worked on but I have seen a technician look at them once and they still don't work. Don't bother complaining to the management, they won't do anything. The LEAST they could do is offer discounted rent considering the fact that none of the amenities have ever worked at the same time and they consistently fail to provide necessities to residents, such as an elevator. Any decent management company would offer some sort of compensation but they do not. I know that nothing will come of me writing this review besides excuses for all of these issues, but I am writing this to warn people DO NOT LIVE HERE! Everyday I wish I lived somewhere else. I live here and to be honest I haven't had any major problems like other residents have had. When I first moved in the cabinet in the kitchen was off the hook but I put in a work order and it was fixed right away. I use all the amenities and I don't think there was one time when any of it wasn't working. A problem that my roomate (who is there right now) is having is the ac. The ac hasn't stopped working at least 4-5 times since she has been there and it's been fixed but it's keeps stopping. read more

Paying $1200 a month for constant water leaks, invasion of privacy by the maintenance workers, things constantly being broken and for absolutely zero compensation. I'm so glad I'm moving out and I didn't renew my lease. My AC has been broken for a month, thank God I'm not living here during the summer, and the workers made a huge mess in my room from carving out drywall from water damage and didn't clean any of it up. It's only move in day and I am already done with this place. When I got to my room I moved the couch and roaches ran all over the place. Dog hair all over the couch and floor, holes & nails in the wall with tape over them. They said they would bring me a new couch, so they took my old couch and never brought back a new one. Absolutely filthy, there were roach traps on the oven before I even moved in & my oven and stove don't work it just says error, microwave has mold... so I pretty much just can't eat at all in my apartment! And when I asked them to fix my oven/stove on move in day they said it would be done that day, then I talked to the manager again later and they said it wouldn't be done until multiple days later. Toliet lid was broken. Bed frame was broken, mold in my shower. Roaches in my fridge. I have not slept in my apartment once since I moved in this past week because of all of these issues.. and when rent costs almost $1500 a month per person.. this should never be an issue!! read more

Probably one of the biggest mistakes we made was signing a lease at this establishment. It looks great from the tour but that's where it ends. Everything from being without power in the kitchen for a week, to broken water pipes, pools that are out of service, and even elevators that are out of service for over a month. On top of the poor quality of the building the office is staffed with less than acceptable, employees are rude to not only the residents but to adults / parents calling to try to get to the bottom of some of the issues. So much so that management refuses to return phone calls. I would look at every other place in T-Town than Here. read more

Been here for barely 24 hours so far the pool has no chlorine and is full of leaves and algae the hot tub is green cold and jets do not work and somehow there are leaves in it. So far two of the three elevators are down in under a day. I am paying over 2 grand a month in rent and I am given a dirty old stained and diseased couch along with a shower that is not tiled or having a glass door, instead it is a cheap insert with mold on every edge and corner along with a shower head that is covered in mold and some nasty brown substance. The shower also does not come with anything to hold any soaps or shampoos. The hype of The HERE is supposed to be their amenities however the only amenities they have don't work and the parking is open to the public despite me having to pay 75 bucks a month. My floors are completely disgusting been over them with a swiffer twice and it still turns my feet black. windows also are dirty to the point they seem opaque. I have the same style apartment with Union on Frank which I could not recommend living there enough, will not be renewing my lease next year and I will be taking pictures and videos for local and state news stations. read more

i lived here last year and it was the worst experience ever. elevators and parking garage always broken, anne i tied non existent because they're always broken, staff couldn't give less of a crappy about you or your concerns, and it smells like poop in there 24/7. they tried to charge me $500 at the end of my lease for damages that didn't exist. thankfully Gwen helped me out with that issue, but that doesn't pardon the fact that it happened to begin with. i would not recommend living here, it was a huge mistake. read more

I moved here in August, the hot tub worked for about a week and has been broken ever since. The pool hasn't worked since move in. The hallways are dirty and animals are constantly peeing in the elevators and they elevators also are constantly breaking. The parking garage gates don't close so anyone can just enter the garage at anytime. It is impossible to get in contact with anyone about any issues and even when I have nothing has been done. It also takes days to get packages when they are delivered. It would be a nice apartment if they would actually fix all the issues. We pay way to much to not be able to use the amenities. read more

I am not one to post bad reviews but I was really encouraged to do so after yesterday. I felt as if I was severely disrespected and I will not be tolerating that while paying almost $1300 a month. I had a medicine shipment come yesterday which was overnighted to me. It had on the box that I needed to "open immediately and refrigerate because it is perishable". When I got the email that my package was downstairs ready to be picked up from the here, I went downstairs immediately. Apparently because of move in, they were not doing package pick up till 5. It was around 2. I did not know this because I renewed my lease and i've been here so I had no idea. I went into the office and the nice young girl who was a college student was very understanding and felt bad and texted her boss. The boss came out to me and expressed she didnt care and has no exceptions when I expressed that I need to put it in the fridge immediately due to it being perishable and it cant sit for hours in a back room for hours. The manager immediately turned disrespectful and told me shes going to refrigerate it for me and left to go get the package. I was very upset because i didn't want her to open my medicine whatsoever. She comes back from the package room and i guess she read the 3 stickers that said "open immediately and refrigerate" because the last thing she said to me was she was going to open it and refrigerate it herself but then she just came out and handed me the package - side note - she told me to leave after she told she was going to open it and put it in the fridge herself but I refused to leave because I felt as if it was very inappropriate opening MY MAIL WITH MY MEDICINE WITHOUT ME THERE. (It was in a big box, she would've had to open it to put it in the fridge). If im paying so much to live here and ive been biting my tongue because we have little to no security. (The security guard is awesome but anyone can get up the elevators now and that is scary especially being a 21 year old girl living on the strip). Adding onto the security issue- management just ignores my mother and i's safety concerns and they have a counter argument each time saying they have a security guard for the night hours but, when you have all three elevators working but the key fob pad on the elevators is not working, (meaning anyone can get to all 7 levels) and on top of that a garage gate that doesn't close, there should be at least more than one individual patrolling outside, the parking garage and inside, and all 7 floors. I will bite my tongue with all the living issues i deal with but, the absurd disrespect for an individual who is never late on her rent, never has caused a scene but is just concerned for her safety and needed to get her NEEDED medication in timely manner is something i will not stand for. I am disgusted for how i was treated yesterday by management and I am expecting an apology and moving forward id liked to be treated with respect and kindness. read more

Paying over 1K a month for this apartment, for almost nothing to work, constant issues. Sink heads don't stay up. Water leaks which causes the apartment to shut down the water for 5 hours! People constantly getting stuck in elevators and they stop working almost every other day. Also tanning beds and a sauna are part of the amenities at this apartment and we can't use them either. It's been almost a month and we still have not gotten our under bed storage as well which was said to be included. read more

Avoid at all costs. Other than the location, this place is horrible. The building was built with the cheapest materials. The windows are so thin you hear everything outside. Can't shower the same time as my roommate because one shower won't be hot. The gates for the garage never work. We pay $75/month for parking and many people park in our lot on game days, going to the strip, class, etc. None of the amenities work and when you ask what is wrong the staff will tell you they are waiting for a part. The building rarely gets cleaned now that there is a new maintenance staff. All of the stairwells are extremely dirty and smell like a dog kennel. They have had dog pee and poop in them since last year and have never been cleaned. There has been THROW UP outside of the elevator on my floor for TWO DAYS, many people have reported this to the staff and they will not do anything about it. They said that the maintenance staff does not work on the weekends, so they aren't sure when it will get cleaned. The entire floor smells rancid. The assistant property manager caught an attitude with me because I asked to get my package and now every time she sees me she looks at me with a dirty look. All in all this place is poorly built, poorly staffed, and poorly cleaned. Stay away!!!! read more
