We found Nathan Herford and his Herford's Tree Care a decade or more ago when he was working on a neighbor's tree. We asked him to come over and look at a tree that seemed to be in danger of splitting apart. Nathan "cabled" the problem area and the tree is still alive and happy. Since then, Nathan and his crew have tackled several jobs for us, from trimming a 20-foot high arborvitae hedge to felling a huge tree that had begun leaning towards the house. (He even took a minute to chainsaw-carve a little table and four little chairs for the grandkids from the tree's wood.) Herford's Tree Care did wonderful work! They were professional and responsive. When we called for a quote, we were able to set a time up quickly. Nathan came out and assessed the trees on our property, laying out our options and how they would proceed. We received a written quote promptly. When they came to do the work, they were professional, thorough and respectful. Everything was better than we had discussed--all branches cleared up and chipped, etc. We had a different company come to cut up a fallen tree a few months ago. They left a mess--branches and logs everywhere. The other company also charged more. No comparison. We will definitely be calling Herford's again. read more

Herford's Tree Care, Inc. was recommended to me by my relatives. My aunt had used them in an emergency situation some years ago. When a huge tree came down across her property and even extended to the neighbor's patio, Nathan's team was quickly on the job handling the situation to everyone's satisfaction. My uncle and aunt continue to use their services on their large multi-acre property. I had a positive experience as well. Nathan did a "walk through" with me and described what he felt needed doing beyond the giant dead tree that I knew had to quickly come down. He wrote up his proposal, dividing it into stages so that I could choose the price level and amount of work that I could do first. Ultimately, they took down six dead trees, trimmed giant fir branches away from my roof, up-limbed tall driveway trees that were obscuring my home, trimmed an arborvitae hedge, shaped a hemlock tree and more. They worked so hard and left my property all cleaned up at the end of the day. Everyone I worked with from arborist/owner Nathan to Pam in the office to all the workers that showed up the day of my big job was polite, helpful, informed and a pleasure to work with. Just wanted to give kudos to this company for doing a wonderful job for me. My regular tree company was not even taking calls, after February's ice storm. My front tree was damaged and I made the decision that it had to come down. I also had neighbor trees (one on each side) that had broken or dangling branches that would eventually fall down onto my property. The owner came out to give me an estimate within a few days of me calling, which was pretty remarkable considering how busy they were. The work was scheduled the following month. This company has all the equipment they need to do a thorough job. They used a lift to get the branches down from one neighbor's tree, climbed the other and used a stump grinder (which was fascinating to watch!) on what was left of the tree out front, after they took it down. They hauled away all the wood and cleaned up after themselves. All I had to do was hand them a check and admire their handiwork! They have all my tree business from now on! read more
