I decided to join a credit union versus the major banks after really having bad experiences with the major banks (i'll keep the names of the other banks anonymous for the sake of being a nice person). Location: Conveniently located in Jonesboro next to Morrow, Georgia. This credit union is off of exit 231 on I 75 south. There are plenty of stores nearby such as Publix, the farmers market, Plato's closet, and many more.There are also great restaurant to check out as well. Service: The few times that I have gone inside, service has been very welcoming and the patient. The wait is not nearly as long as other major banks and you are guaranteed to get the service you need. I especially appreciate the fact that they have drive-thru hours on Saturday. Bummers: Some negatives is the fact that there are not many locations located around metro Atlanta. However they do offer something that I believe is called Bank sharing where you can go to another credit union branch and have the same service rendered that you would at your home bank.

I had just come from visiting another bank across the street and this place was a revelation. They had 5 or 6 people working at various places behind the counter, all busily moving along and helping customers at a quick pace. When they noticed the line was growing they even asked if people were there to deposit or do quick transactions. I was, and I was in and out in under 5 minutes.

Last week I realized I needed to make a deposit into an account to prevent it from overdrafting and at 3pm, Atlanta traffic was gridlocked and there was no way I was going to make it to Lindbergh before they closed at 4. This location is open til 5pm and thankfully after 3pm in the afternoon its easier to maneuver the traffic from SW Atlanta to Morrow than it is to maneuver from SW Atlanta, to Buckhead. I made it with plenty of time to spare. The location is hidden behind some other "townhouse" style buildings so I drove passed it a couple times although my GPS was assuring me that it was on the right, so I finally turned into the "townhouses" and saw that they were all commercials businesses. The staff was friendly and greeted me as soon as I walked in. Just so happy I now know I don't have to drive all the way to Lindbergh for banking anymore.

I use to…read morealways finance my cars using the Georgias own credit Union, especially since they offered great warranty's and really good interest rates, but not no more. When I went to car max looking to buy a car this past March I told them I was fine and had my own financing just show me the cars. When I finally found the vehicle I wanted I was surprised to find that car max actually had the better deal with their max care warranty added on. Georgias owns extended warranty's price was completely ridiculous, causing the car payment to be so much more than it should have been. It's true the credit unions interest rate was lower but the warranty cost made it not worth it cost wise, so I gave the complete business to car max. When we called Georgias own to tell them that, they were like ok no problem, in the past the reps there that we would speak to did any and everything possible to gain your business, but not todays employees, they have no clue nor desire to woo customers or work little harder to close a deal. At this rate we probably will not be using Georgias own again for financing if this is their new way of doing business. I suggest doing your home work before deciding on Georgias own, even if you've been a faithful customer it's still worth it to shop around first, remember your wallet is more important than your loyalty, especially when the loyalty is no longer returned...

I guess due to it's location and the demographic of Riverdale changing over the years. I used the ATM to Check my balance and get cash out. Glad I got there when I did because when I was finished, both ATM lines were LONG. Nearly out the parking lot. Anyway, I say the service was fast because this elderly pair that went in as I was entering the ATM were finished with their transactions by the time I exited the parking lot.
