Update 9/17/2021: I have to knock another star because it has been nearly a month and I have not received the snail mail receipt. For all this work, this florist should be paying me! ----------------------------------------------I just don't have a lot of confidence in Heritage F&G; however, I hope they will prove me wrong. First of all, it's never easy when a coworker's son dies in a hit and run (#JusticeForMason); and it's not easy when you "split" the cost of sympathy flowers with a coworker for the first time (finding something that you both like & at an agreed price where to have it delivered, the expression of sympathy on the note card, etc.). I was happy my coworker & I agreed we liked the "Large Wicker Plant Basket + Fresh Flowers + Metal Cross" with the following description from their website: "Large Wicker Plant Basket + Fresh Flowers + Metal Cross." I took the lead with placing the order & spoke w/ Cindy yesterday. As you can imagine, the description ("Large Wicker Plant Basket + Fresh Flowers + Metal Cross") is pretty vague and it would be nice to offer a "Small Wicker Plant Basket..." But, what exactly constitutes "large" or "small?" Nearly all, if not all, florists I have used provide the dimensions of their arrangements and items & a price. HF&G does not. My colleague and I both dislike carnations & she noticed 1 carnation in the picture; I ensured to state, please do not includecarnations. When I asked her the price of the Large Wicker Plant Basket + Fresh Flowers + Metal Cross, she said $100.00. I texted coworker who said-fine. Then, Cindy wanted to confirm what type of metal crosses she had in stock and briefly put me on hold. She had 1 in the 50$ price range that came "with stones" & 1 in the 25$ price range that came "without stones." I opted for the less expensive cross. She asked me for the decedent's name & defaulted to the funeral home for delivery, which I didn't realize until later. She was sweet when she was typing up our sympathy card info & believe me the recipient, my co-worker, andI have unusual names. Cindy did not confirm the spellings or read back the card message to me. I mentioned we would like for the recipient to enjoy this at home prior to the funeral & please deliver it to her home, which she then took down the address information, etc. Following getting my CC infor, she was done. I was expecting a "your order # is--" and "may I have your email address to emailreceipt & notification of delivery?" No, none of that. She just took my mailing address to mail me a receipt. At that time, I managed to squeeze in "what was the final cost pls?" Cindy responded "$161.87." I asked her to repeat it, thinking she said $116.87" and she said "No, $161.87." How did this transaction escalate from 100 to ~162$? I was too exhausted to ask. A 100.00 arrangement with tax and delivery should have been ~125. This was really an embarrassing situation for me to explain to my colleague who was expecting to spend $50.00, not 81+ dollars. Sure, I could have cancelled the order ASAP; however, I think Cindy should have broken down the costs with me before asking for my credit card information. I just pray the recipient gets the arrangement and it is lovely and provides her with a little twinkle of joy. I really do and based on reviews here, it is very likely. I doubt I will see a photo of the arrangement. Some suggestions I would like to make to instill confidence in first time customers are: 1. Update your website. Provide prices (even a price range would be nice) and detailed descriptions and dimensions of the items (I do not even know what type/s of plants are in this arrangement) and options for add-ons (upgraded arrangement, balloons, candy, etc.) 2. Don't assume anything regarding delivery - ask: Would you like this to be delivered to the funeral home, the church, elsewhere or would you like to stop by and pick it up at the store? 3. Describe items such as the Metal Cross with descriptive details (she did state that all the crosses are all handmade). Handmade of what exactly? Locally? What are the "stones" in the one option? Is it a pendant? Is it a free standing cross? What size is it? Which version would you recommend and why? A no kidding website upgrade would have all these details listed beside the item. 4. Take the customer's email. This is an opportunity to a. email the receipt b. provide a delivery confirmation and of course 3. market your company to the customer. 5. Offer a text photo of the item before it leaves the store (or when it is made) via text message showing both s. 6. Provide your customer with an order number at a minimum. This would be a quick and easy way for the customer to reference the order should any changes (special instructions, date of delivery) need to be made to the order. 5. My boyfriend went here to get me some birthday flowers and was laughed out of the store because he asked for pet safe options. The older women working at the store told him that he should be keeping our pets locked up at all hours of the day and that he would never be able to get pet safe flowers so stick to other gifts. I drive past this business every day, and had never called them for my floral needs. That's now changed. I called them last week in prep for Valentine's Day, and placed my order. A++++ Service. Today I spoke with Kim of Heritage Florist and she was very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. She spent almost 20 mins with me on the phone to ensure I got my Mother's Day arrangements just right. I appreciated her willingness to help me on such short notice; especially since I was turned down by all of the other 3 Madison area florists. Every florist I called told me they could do same-day delivery; I asked for an arrangement to be delivered today, but then was told they couldn't guarantee my delivery until Sunday (2 days later). That is not same day delivery. Heritage florist delivers on their advertisements. The only suggestion I have for Heritage is to get a website please! I think you all could attract more business if clients could see online examples. I will continue to use Heritage for all of my future floral needs. Thank you again Kim! read more

I received flowers from here on Saturday and the majority were wilted and dying by Monday, some had started Sunday afternoon. I added water each day thinking that may be a part of it. They allowed us to return them and switch out the flowers but not without an attitude. The counter worker was very nice but the women who changed out the flowers were hateful and rude. It's a shame because they have some cute stuff in the boutique side of it. But for $90, id expect better service and flowers that lasted a bit longer. I won't be returning there. My aunt passed away, so we ended up at heritage florist to find her a nice casket arrangement. The owner, Cindy, was very rude to my family that day, even knowing we just had a family member pass away. We went into the store on Valentines day, and she was very rude, refused to give us a book to look at arrangements until she was less "scatter-brained," so we proceeded to walk out of the store. She followed us to our vehicle, asking us to come back in, so we proceeded to do so. We ordered a casket arrangement, she never told us how much it would cost. A week or so later, my family gets a bill for over $400! My sister called to find out why, and we were told it was valentine's day pricing. We ordered on valentines day, we didn't need them on valentines day. We didn't need them until after v-day. My aunt didnt choose to pass during the week of Valentines day. Completely and utterly disgusted with how we were treated in such a hard time of our lives and we will never be ordering from here again, and anyone I know will know not to as well. I have used this florist for at least 15 years....always recommended highly to others about my experiences and the arrangements are always beautiful and exactly what I requested. I have brought others to this florist, even from out of town. Recently, I had the worst experience I have ever had from anyone, anywhere. My aunt passed away on February 12....we stopped by to order flowers for the casket on our way home from making arrangements at the funeral home. Since it was Valentine's Day, it was very busy. We waited for Cindy to finish with a customer and asked to see a book to choose the arrangement...we were greeted with a smirk and a sarcastic remark for us to let her finish with whatever she was doing at that time. We continued to wait and then we decided we would leave. She ran to our vehicle and begged us to come back in. My granddaughter and I had worked for her to help deliver during busy times, but it had been a few years and neither of us recognized her and I told her I would call when I got home and talk to Cindy and she informed me that she was Cindy. We decided we would go back inside and look at her book....we chose an arrangement and left. My granddaughter called yesterday to see what the total is because we have a few people who want to help with the cost....she was informed that the arrangement will cost almost $400....she asked if we could be compensated for some of the cost due to the treatment we got at such a sad time for us...Cindy informed her that she couldn't do anything because the high cost was due to "it was Valentine's Day prices"....I am stunned that a florist I have done business with for 15 years, recommended highly to everyone, bragged about the good service I always received, could say such a thing about the reason for the high cost. My aunt didn't choose to die during the Valentine's Day event. I am very saddened and disturbed and really, just totally shocked by this remark by the owner of a business. I won't do business at this place again.....I won't recommend this place and this service to anyone anymore and I will do whatever I can to get those customers I have brought to this place to take their business somewhere else....because I will be taking my business elsewhere. I think it's heartless for someone to treat people who are already hurting in the manner we got treated then make the remark about "Valentine's Day prices".....if I could go back to that day, I would have told Cindy, "No thank you....I won't come back in your store now and neither will I ever buy another dollar's worth of anything from you and no one that I know will either".
