My family and I stayed in this resort for a week and it was a great time! The owners are so kind and really prioritize excellence! One of the highlights of our stay was one of the front desk receptionists, her name was India, she was so kind and accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed! They have an option to have your beds made up and towels replaced every day so that was a plus! Important notes: - They only have cable T.V at the moment, so if you want to watch Netflix, Prime Video or any streaming service during your stay, you may have to bring your own laptop and HDMI cord! - Heritage Hills has a vintage aesthetic and feel! read more

This review is focused on the golf course itself. Heritage Hills is (usually) fine as a hotel, restaurant, bar, spa, wedding venue, winter resort, sporting program, children's summer camp, etc. But their reputation as York's premier golf destination is in jeopardy. $85 is far, far too much to spend for bunkers that resemble the fields of Verdun and unpacked cart paths which threaten to eject you from your cart every time you pass over a bump. That reflects in the attendance: there was no one there on Father's Day morning. Everyone was probably over at Regent's Glen, playing a far superior course for the same price. If Heritage wants to compete, they should probably invest a small portion of their wedding money into taming the wilderness they let grow all over their most valuable asset. read more

Mother's Day Brunch Food was meh at best. Felt ripped off paying what we did. Crab soup was terrible, tasted like flour and cream only. Oyster dish was weird tasting and probably previously frozen. Prime rib was ok. Seafood crepes were blah. Steamed Shrimp was the only thing on the buffet worth going back for. Definitely not going again, it should have been much better for the price. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. My friend came in from San Diego and we all met out for a few drinks during happy hour. We were having a good time until we attempted to order a few shots. The bartender informed us that my friend had been flagged by the manager. We hadn't caused any issues or had been talked to in any way nor were we being belligerent. This will be the last time I patronize this establishment. It has gone down hill in the last few years and it is a shame. Just left the outside bar at Heritage. From the moment we sat down, we felt unwelcome. When we asked for a beer list, we were told "all the beer are in the ice." Obviously we could see this, but since the beers were covered with ice we did not know the options. We asked for menus, but 15 minutes passed and the bartender never asked if we wanted to order food. We paid and left for a much more accommodating restaurant 5 miles down the road. Definitely will not go back. read more

Staying the night during a hockey tournament and had a miserable experience. A inappropriately loud group of 50 hockey players and families were asked to leave the lobby, where they set up a banquet, only to move the entire party to a hallway upstairs, outside guest rooms. When the noise became ridiculous, the desk sent the security guard, who promptly hung out with the party, that continued to play beer pong late into the night.. right outside of guest rooms. When the party finally did break up, the entire floor smelled like a frat house, and empty beer and food containers stayed in the halls until mid-day. Maybe this could have been done in one of the banquet rooms that were apparently empty.. but nope.. in the hallway. I get trying to fill the hotel at a golf course during the winter may be tough, but giving away the house to a hallway bash makes the place impossible for anyone else to enjoy. As a hockey guy that has been to these for over a decade, there is a big difference between some families having a drink and chatting in a hallway, and a catered event with games going on outside the rooms. The Inn at Heritage Hills is pretty nice. The rooms aren't huge, but had lots of amenities. My room had two Queen beds, a microwave, a dorm fridge, granite countertops, a nice flatscreen TV, the bathroom was okay, but barely big enough for one person. Some of the rooms are called "Suites" such as the Nicklaus Suite, but we figured out they are just the same rooms as everybody else's! Kelly at the front desk fixed my botched reservation with the utmost professional courtesy. She also kindly gave me directions to a nearby Starbucks and swapped out my keycard when my cell phone de-magnetized it. Kudos, Kelly! If you're staying at Heritage Hills most likely you're either playing Golf, or your husband is; so you won't be spending much time in your room anyway. I dug the alarm clock that had relaxing sounds like the surf, birds and a babbling brook. I actually left the chirping birds on all the time. I'm sure my housekeepers thought I was crazy! But I liked coming into an empty room that sounded like a Zoo Aviary. There's not much to do in York, PA, but a couple things to do at the Inn at Heritage Hills. There are a couple different restaurants and a bar. The Golfing looked amazing. I wish I golfed a lick. I guess there's mini-golf for the kids and the golf-phobic like myself. Then there's the spa. The Serenity Spa offers loads of pampering services, some conventional some adventurous! You can get a style and trim in their salon, a mani-pedi, Deep Tissue Massage, Hot Stone Massage, or get a little daring and go for the Honey and Sugar scrubs. The menu of scrubs looked good enough to eat! Rawr! I opted for the Deluxe Reflexology foot massage. My appointment with Sheila was just what I needed after a day of traveling. She was nice, professional, and informative when I asked which pressure points corresponded to what. When I got quiet (because it was very relaxing) she checked with me to see how I was doing. The Deluxe also focused on neck, scalp and shoulders and wow, she's got magic hands! The staff at the spa were so accommodating and nice I highly recommend it! If you live nearby I could see coming to Heritage Hills for a couple's or family weekend once in a while. read more

The driving range has balls that are probably 25 years old half of them were broken or had a hole in them. Pathetic no yard markers just awful went in for dinner. My review is for the heritage hills hotel and the restaurant Avenue Ale House & Pizza Loft. I don't even know where to start or how to keep this short and "sweet". Once you find something wrong with a place you notice everything, lets start with that. CHECK-IN: We got the family winter package which comes with snow tubing (avalanche xpress snow tubing is connected on their property, see my review for that on their yelp page) which is the only reason we chose this place. We show up to the hotel before 11AM and yes I get it, its presidents day weekend and its way before the 4PM check-in time but okay are rooms aren't ready, totally understandable. Throughout the day we proceeded to try and check into our room and still wasn't available. Just FYI I have stayed at many hotels and almost always get into our rooms early. 4PM rolls around and they promised the room would be ready....it wasn't. So we sat in the lobby with a very tired toddler from 3:40PM until 4:50PM which at that point our room was finally ready. During this time frame we were told over and over "only 5 more min" or "just a little bit longer". At the time of our room being ready my husband had an apt (4:30PM) so it was just our daughter and I with a butt load of stuff struggling to get to our room and no one offered to help seeing the circumstance I was in but only suggested I grab the cart and proceeded to watch me load it and try maneuver that and my toddler at the same time. No help offered. They did however offer us vouchers and a couple smores kits. ROOM NOTES: we had the Edinburgh Suite. Don't get me wrong the room was beautiful and we loved it very much but there was some issues. Within a couple minutes someone set off the fire alarm supposedly on accident so we didn't even get to relax before dealing with that. There were screws lose on some of the doors and the front door wouldn't even open unless you used all your body weight and then some to shove it open. Most of the time I couldn't even open it myself. We could hear flushing and even people clearing their throat from the bathroom. We could hear kids running above us. FOOD: the food was extremely overpriced and just mediocre. For example it was $5/slice of smores cheesecake and the slices were crazy small (see pic). We only ordered it because we had a $10 voucher. OVERALL: only gave the place 2 stars because yes, the room was very nice and we loved it but overall with the horrible hotel stay experience plus the food we will never be staying here again. What hotel doesn't have breakfast service? Rooms are small as well as the bathrooms. On the plus side, beds were very comfortable and it was quiet in the rooms even with a lot of activity in the halls. Thought the mini-golf would be good for the kids but it was overpriced and overgrown. Sorry but Courtyard Marriott will be my "go too" in the future. read more

Nice Golf Course. Have not played it in over 10 years and was in much better shape when I played it last but still a very nice course. Got 2 hotdogs at the turn. $14. REALLY! You should be very embarrassed. Then ate outside on the patio afterwards. Wings were dry and horrible. The couple next to me ordered a pizza and it looked horrendous. The bar tender even offered to get them another one but the couple refused. My buddy got a burger which he said was good but the fries were horrible. read more

The stay was great, kids had a ball...but the best part about the amazing people at this hotel, most especially the housekeeping department, is they are amazing humans. We left a very treasured child's toy there and they searched high and low to find it...which they did. And I stead of throwing it in a box and sending it to us, the VP of the hotel wrote an amazing email, with a story of Lamby and took photos of him all over the hotel doing "chores". When my son read the email he was overjoyed and so happy Lamby was safe and having fun while he was away. They really cared about how distraught without Lamby he was and did everything they could, and then some, to find him. Truly amazing people at Heritage Hills. read more

1) check in isn't until 4pm, which is just ridiculous for a hotel, especially if you are staying there for a wedding (which we were and we needed to board the buses at 4pm so we had to share space in the few rooms that were ready for our friends) they knew about this months in advance and check out is at 11 so there is no need for a 5 hour turn around time. 2) front desk has horrible customer service. They are unapologetic and provide no hope of better service. Also, they don't greet you with open arms nor do they provide you the welcome basket unless you ask for it. Which, thank goodness we did because our itinerary was in there. 3) the gym and the pool are both off campus. 4)the rooms are too hot, even when you put the AC down to the lowest it goes 5) the hotel Key constantly wasn't working. In the two days we stayed we had to replace 3 card. And I know the other rooms had the same issue. The list could go on. Long story short, would not stay here again or recommend to others. read more

Came for a holiday weekend and a snow tubing package. It was overall a fun experience but very overpriced for the hotel. There was no hot water in the shower. The room was outdated and worn with visible stains on the carpet. It took nearly 30 minutes to get the elevator. And there were kids running through the halls on our floor at all hours. I'm curious where there parents were. Some were even sitting in the floor outside our room. It was late me paying 4 star prices in York, PA to go to youth camp. If the room was cleaner, updated and had HOT water I would not have been so bothered. read more

Online the Resort looks impressive so we decided to go there for the New Year's weekend. We had no hot water for showering & we were soaked/muddy from tubing & skating. Our TV's are outdated with a grainy picture - our volume increased/decreased on its own. The eggs & hash browns at breakfast were sitting out so long they were hard and dry with brown edges - it was like a Sauna in the Dining Room & the Resort as a whole - way too hot. We only got to skate late on Saturday night & not until 3pm on Sunday because of hockey tournaments & they didn't have most of our size in skates - we had to wait for people to get down so we could skate. When we finally got to skate at 3pm, the hockey players were racing around us playing hockey with a puck & raising their sticks & we were told it was our job to watch our kids that they couldn't expect the hockey players to sit on their hands on the ice & do nothing! Clearly where they make most of their money from! One elevator was shut down because the hockey players jammed it constantly playing with the buttons according to the Front Desk. Front Desk was very rude. Golf pro shop lied & said we'd ski by 11am when it wasn't until 3pm. Don't waste your money here! Awful ice to skate on the little bit of time you get to skate because of 11:00 checkout. read more

I paid for 2 rooms for New Year's Eve. The front desk was rude and disrespectful. Don't be deceived. You cannot ice skate at any time. They rent out the ice skating rink to hockey leagues so you have to ice skate at late night hours and even when it's available to skate the hockey players stayed on playing hockey. I had little kids with me that were terrified while they swerved in and out from us skating. Lastly, we had cold water Saturday and Sunday. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. read more
