There's plenty of outdoor seating, spots to have a fire and even bicycles you can rent during your stay. We stayed in the Firefly cottage that has an unobstructed view of the water from its private back porch. Every morning we received freshly ground coffee and enjoyed it on the porch watching the jumping trout and pelicans. It was really relaxing and serene. The cottage itself had everything you'd need and was super clean. Cute little kitchen area, fully stocked with plates and utensils. Bathroom with plenty of towels, toiletries and places to hang your bags. There's also a living room area with tv and queen sized bed. The cottage is so cozy and decorated with the coolest art and books. The best part are the hosts/owners. Ian and Darrin were so warm and welcoming. You can tell they love what they do. They know all the best spots in town too! The cottages are also only a 15 minute walk to town. We walked everywhere when we were there which was good considering all the tasty diner food we had.

We just absolutely loved our stay here…read more Reserved a 3 bedroom 3 bath house with a private dock directly on the river. Arrived around 8 at night and needless to say it's quite dark on these parts but the caretakers left the house brightly lit so we could easily pick it out. The house itself was gorgrous! A huge chefs kitchen...2 bedrooms and 2 baths downstairs. The mater suite was upstairs and to die for. Separate living room..big comfy bed...a western style soaking tub..water closet..and french doors the opened to the balcony over looking the river. There was a huge dining table inside as well as a table om the deck overlooking the river where u could eat as well. The kitchen had every utensil..pot or pan that you'd ever need. We Even Got To Use The fireplace as a cold front came through dropping it down to 50 before it quickly passed and went up to 80 One of the cabins is known for Jimmy carter staying there. They have a petting zoo which was fun at first but after a few minutes you could tell it isn't high on their priority list which bothered me a bit. There is also a small chapel amd really large cabin for receptions or reunions. Our rental was $650 plus taxes etc. Well worth every penny. There were a few cute local restaurants nearby we enjoyed as well directly on the river. It really is a very nice area!

We loved the grounds with the walking paths, great for the pup and well lit at night. Brought our boat and parked in the trailer parking areas which was great! Docked up one afternoon during our river cruise. Amenities are great. Didn't use the pool but that is a definite perk. Dog run is great. Grounds were well taken care of. Perfect little getaway. Our cottage had a grill (had to buy charcoal- keep in mind if you want to bring for your stay). Bed super comfy. Shower/tub was an adventure. Great dog friendly cottage.good location, homossasa spring 2 hours, rainbow spring 1 hr 30min, same for cedar key. Thanks Trish, we had a blast!

This review is for the restaurant, Swampfire Bistro, that is on the site not the lodge, so FYI…read more My husband passes this spot as he goes to his hunting camp in South Georgia from Jacksonville and thought I would enjoy trying the restaurant as I am a foodie and love local spots. I rode up with him last weekend and we went by to ask about dinner on the way to the camp. The young man who greeted us was so friendly and explained they had several weddings going on but would put us down for our requested time a few hours later. Hubby was just checking a few things at the camp and we were heading back to Jacksonville. The menu boast locally sourced food but what we found out is the seafood items are farm raised not local or wild caught so that ruled those out. We started with the jalapeño poppers and they were ok but not made in house. We asked for bread and they were out of that but offered complimentary hush puppies instead. That's not really the same but thanks for trying. Hush puppies were a bit greasy. We had a few adult beverages and they were not near as cold as they should have been. Hubby had the steak with sides and thought the steak was pretty chewy. He also had a baked potato, broccoli and salad. I ended up having a side salad and baked potato only. Salad was OK but dressing was not good. Again not made in house. The baked potato was over cooked. The service, however, was really good. Tina and Emily were so nice and were working hard, as a team to take care of us. The people there were all so friendly. I love the concept but the execution needs a bit of help. If you tout locally sourced, that means local for all things. They do have cute cabin rentals on site and I can see people loving this place.

We stayed in Cabin #1 (of 6), which had one bedroom down stairs with a queen bed, a sleeper sofa in the living room, and a loft with a queen and a twin bed. They supplied us with 6 fluffy towels. The kitchen was stocked with spices, s/p, bottled waters, coffee, creamers, and sugar. The beds were comfortable. The front porch had two rockers, and a picnic table and benches were right outside the back door. At night the lighted trees were beautiful. This is a fantastic property with friendly owners. Their hospitality is amazing.
