The condition of the kitchen countertop at moving in. it was already damaged in yellow color, and they charged hundreds of dollars for it.

It was fine when I lived there for more than a year, but they charged a huge amount of money at moving out. Just read the reviews here, and you will see a lot of cases that the apartment charged unreasonable amounts of money, sometimes several thousand dollars. In our case, it was around $1000, which took all the deposit money away. Even with photo evidences that the kitchen countertop was already damaged before moving in, they still insisted on charging fees for that in a very rude way. They wouldn't reason with people and just list all the fees without looking at photos taken before moving in. The management there basically think they can charge whatever they want as long as they put it on paper and sign it. The management office there didn't help and wouldn't reason at all. People there were extremely rude. This apartment would then ask debt collection agency to harass people and charge rolling interests for amounts due, which I never recognized in the first place.

Today, two of us were walking through chatting, and a Meadows property manager/worker yelled at us from across the parking lot, maybe 40 yards away, asking who we were. Thinking he had mental issues or a salesman, we kept walking. He then approached and harassed us, screaming about how we were trespassing, continuing verbal abuse and harassment and followed us until we left the property. We talked quietly, did not approach anyone, hang door tags, play music, or toss trash. We didn't go into the center apartment area. We're both computer professionals. This employee could have gotten on his golf cart and quietly told us sorry we cannot walk thru his parking lot and to kindly exit the premises. Instead, he chose to yell threateningly across a parking lot and come after us with verbal abuse. A good way to judge apartment management is how they treat visitors. Because as residents, you're going to get more of that - or worse. Stay away from this complex.

Meadows is very safe and it's also in a good location - it is right off of Central expressway and it's close to 237 and 101. Apartment was spacious as well. I also thought the gym was great and bigger than a lot of other apartment gyms so amenities as good here. There is a community pool as well. The management company was very responsive with service requests. We had an issue where the central AC was spewing out dead bugs so the maintenance team quickly came in and gave us a new AC. Meadows also hosts some events every couple months (coffee station, Easter egg hunt, food trucks, etc.) which made the apartment complex feel more like a community. One of the drawbacks about this complex is the lack of natural light in the some of the apartments. Because of all the tall redwood trees and the direction of our apartment, we didn't get much light. For the most part, we had our lamps turned on all the time. And because of the trees, leaves would fall into our balcony so we had to frequently clean that up. We decided to leave once the lease was up as we found a place with more natural light closer to our offices and meadows was going to increase the rent by $250 a month. If it wasn't for the light situation, probably would have continued to stay here. Overall I enjoyed living here, and if you are ok with less natural light or you are able to get an apartment facing the right direction, then I recommend!

I wish I could write a better review but I'm so disappointed by what was previously a great place to rent. The buildings are quite dated and the updates that have been made are of the cheapest quality. The old carpeting in the buildings was replaced last year...we all thought what had been placed was the liner and the installation people would be returning to lay the actual carpet. No...the carpet is just that thin and it causes sound to reverberate through the halls. The vinyl flooring in some units is cheap quality and poorly installed, so that it's constantly lifting. They continue to permit cigarette smoking on patios and balconies, and public areas around the site, which means there's smoke coming in through the windows, patio/balcony doors, and vents, regardless of whether you smoke. The complex spent three years and a lot of money to update the property, with the pool and hot tub, bbq area, and clubhouse were all unavailable during this time. The big reveal after all the work reflected that the only thing changed for residents was a nicer bbq area. The pool and hot tub, and all the chaises, tables, and umbrellas are the same that have been there since my initial residency. The clubhouse, which is only open during the management's working hours (unless reserved for a private event), is gorgeous but the main change is a remodel of the office space. The management and facilities staff are the only people who use the "clubhouse," and in great part due to the hours it's accessible as well as the fact that whenever someone goes in there, it feels as if you're interrupting the office staff having their breaks, hanging out and snacking, etc. All the parking spots were redesignated this past year as "assigned" spots, in a clear attempt to increase income for the management company. Residents must pay an additional fee monthly to reserve a spot, covered or not, and there are virtually no unassigned spots for additional resident cars or guests. The office staff regularly "patrol" the parking area for parkers who aren't "registered" and when discovering someone, send an email blast to the entire community calling out the car's identifying details and threatening to have the vehicle towed within a certain number of minutes if it's not moved. During weekends, the Springwood staff tend to park in the spots reserved for "new residents." Management sends email frequently admonishing residents that they've "been told" they cannot have anything on their balconies/patios, hallways, lobbies, etc. as if the residents are young children. I don't like when people break rules meant to ensure people's enjoyment of their rented home either, but there's a way to do this respectfully and a way to make people feel bad. When there are problems with the laundry room machines, the office staff will not assist. The response is that they haven't been trained on how to use the equipment or its software and residents have to contact the vendor (which never seems to result in a response). A dryer has been non-functional for months but despite numerous requests, the management staff have done nothing to ensure that it's repaired or replaced. With only 4 washers and 4 dryers per building, having one out of order creates a difficult situation for residents trying to do their laundry. On the plus side, the maintenance staff are without exception friendly and responsive. The apartments are in a great location and the people living there are generally quite nice, but there are few amenities and the management staff sometimes make residents feel like interlopers.

The downtown area hosts a range of special events throughout the year, like the awesome Sunnyvale Farmers' Market held on Saturday mornings, one of my faves. Ironworks Apartment is one of the newest apartments in the area with spacious closets, hallways and bathrooms. Mixed results: This place has so much potential, but …read more.. Any corporate managed apartment is not going to be perfect. Nor did I expect it to be. I'm giving Ironworks a review after living here for over a year. Hoping to see some progress. If you're considering this please proceed with caution. From the beginning... We rented a unit site unseen (don't make that mistake in their sales pitch). Someone was still living in it, but the timing was right for when we wanted to move in and I thought we came to a reasonable deal with the rate, and we were double assured the furnishings & equipment were the same from the model we toured to our new unit (you can see where this is going). We opted for taking an 18-month lease so our life doesn't have constant change/ moving (they refused to offer an 18 month at renewal btw). Then move-in day comes. Our bathroom is 100% different from the model unit they showed us and different than what we were promised in terms of the furnishings. The mirror is just stuck to the wall with a basic wooden frame. Not the touch screen backlit mirror we were shown. Gone was all the marble in the bathtub area replaced with a boring dated beige solid surface. Like being sold a remodeled Marriott bathroom just to check in to a dated Holiday and Express; I was beyond disappointed. Beyond the bathroom, it's clear that there wasn't any executive level walkthrough of this unit prior to our move-in. Paint splatter in areas (at least they did a new paint job), a large gouge on the fake wood floor, a grimy shower head (hello CLR), mildew/hold in the washing machine, multiple kitchen cabinets that weren't aligned correctly to close, in the refrigerator whose ice machine wasn't working and took more maintenance visits than I can count before they got it right... By replacing the full unit. While living here... If you like to use the gym, it looks pretty nice... If the equipment you like is fixed. Many community members asked for things to be fixed which took many weeks, for weeks. The temperature was almost in the '80s as you're trying to work out. (I guess that's good if you like to sweat it out). The water fountain stopped working at a point as well. Again nothing's perfect, things break, but the pace of the care and attention seems quite slow. Late night alarms... Yes, every apartment complex has these most often due to some community member's cooking... And while those occur intermittently, I'm mostly writing about the faulty sensors that have led to more late night evacuations than I can count. I guess it's good to know that Sunnyvale Police department and fire department do have good response time if you need them. Outside...Do you like a rooftop patio? Well this place is good now, but it took 6 months for it to open after it said that it was going to be open. When you pay for the amenities you would like them to be available. The outdoor courtyards are nice... if you get there before the bird poop the piles up on the blue fabric seats. Enjoy bird seed, birds, and bird poop at your front door, we'll you might be in luck if your neighbor drills a bird feeder into the exterior wall of the building directly above you; and management won't take true action to remove it. Loved that time they sent a few emails about external power washing; I moved my many plants inside, moved my fabric outdoor patio furniture; for nothing to ever occur. Everything's not gloom and doom. The physical apartment outside of the bathroom is relatively good... Be ready for that kitchen island to be sinking (not from climate change but I hear everyone's unit has this sagging issue). Maintenance staff are quick to respond when you submit a request. Very much appreciated. The maintenance staff and the office staff are definitely friendly and I do see quality attempts to keep the common areas cleaned up; including grills which I often use. They have some monthly events if you're up for that. And a quite lively LOFT community app where you can see neighbors vent about issues or get the local tea.
