I saw that we had a few mutual friends and decided in home care would be nicer for my dogs than boarding them in a kennel. We texted back and forth several times and set up a time for me to visit her home and for her to meet my dogs. Her initial price was quoted as $600 for 10 days. There was no contract, just text messages. 2 days before visiting her home, she began texting me with different price quotes. When questioned she claimed it was due to inflation. I agreed since I was leaving the country and at that point could not find another option. (I know... believe me.. )Then she texted me that she wanted payment upfront at least 4 days before boarding my dogs and asked me to send payment through or Zelle or Cashapp. She did not have a formal contract or any paperwork for our agreement. I went on the visit to her home and our dogs seemed to get along. She claimed her dogs were her life, no children and my dogs would be in good hands. She seemed to be very nice and loving with her dog as well as mine. I paid her in full on the day of the visit. Unfortunately, my family came down with COVID 2 days before our trip. I immediately contacted Kim to let her know we could not travel. She said I could use the money I had already paid ($774) toward a later date or she would refund. When I asked for the refund she agreed but said that she needed some time to get the money together because she had already spent it?!?! This was 2 days after I paid her. I understand that canceling on short notice is inconvenient for everyone and did not expect a full refund. I asked if she felt that a $500 refund was fair considering it was a last minute cancellation. She seemed appreciative that I was willing to take a substantial loss for absolutely no service provided. She said she would send my refund within a week. Then the excuses started pouring in.... Each time she postponed the deadline for payment there was another excuse, but all with "I promise you I will pay you back." Then she stopped responding. I am filing a suit in small claims court. BEWARE and learn from me.

I hired Kim to walk my two dogs around the block while I was working a wedding. She asked me if she…read morecould take them to the lake in her car and I told her no, I only wanted a walk around the block. I also told her that they didn't get along with all dogs, especially in their home, and she said that it was no problem and that she would leave her dog, Cooper, at home. While at the wedding I received a text with photos of them down at the lake, in her car, and with her dog. I checked my cameras in my house and saw that she brought her dog with her and into my house and let him run all around in it and on the furniture. I got home 5 hours after she left and found a note on the counter that one of my dogs was "gagging" while she was there and to "check him when you get back". He was still gagging and I looked in his mouth and found several porcupine quills in it, I checked my other dog's mouth and also found a quill. I asked her what happened and she said she had no idea how that could have happened and that they were on leash the whole time and that she hadn't taken their eyes off of them. The next day my dog started vomiting up quills and passing them in his stool. I then heard from my friend who was at the unfenced park she brought them to and told me that she saw my dogs running loose with their leashes dragging, out of sight of Kim. I definitely do not recommend Kim, she not only went against my direct instructions but then lied about it.

Nickey treated my 3 dogs like they were at home. And she sent me daily updates using photos of my dogs that I didn't have to respond to but kept me confident that they were well taken care of. This enabled me to fully enjoy being away with my family. And Nickey is very friendly, knowledgeable and pleasant and gave us a very fair price. Next time I go away I will definitely be contacting NickeyShe took them on daily, miles long walks so they got plenty of exercise too.

They are the absolute best!…read more I've been using Sid and Tapka's dog walking and getaway services for almost 5 years since I first got my little pug. Nickey was originally walking my dog herself, but now she has a few walkers who work for her. Nickey is the best. She's great with the dogs. Incredibly reliable and I can tell she really cares about my dog. Daniel walks my dog now and I would say the same about him. He's great! In addition to my pug, I've had a number of foster pugs over the years. Nickey has taken great care of them as well! Even helping feed and take care of a special needs pug that I had and walking one crazy aggressive pug. Nothing seems to faze her. In addition to walking, I also use the boarding service. It's reasonably priced and my dog loves it. Nickey has a nice setup for boarding with a private backyard for the dogs to frolic in. Nickey boards dogs of all sizes together, but I have NEVER feared for the safety of my little guy with the big dogs.. Nickey keeps everyone under control. In addition to being an awesome dog walker Nickey is a great person. She's helped me out on a few occasions when I've locked myself out of my house and needed a key. She's rescued and given homes to abandoned dogs... And she's generally just a sweet gal. Can't recommend Sid and Tapka's enough.

She even helped him train to the litter box, which he won't use at home. He's an indoor-outdoor cat at home, and although he refuses to use the box here, she said that he will use it there. The last time he stayed, as soon as he was out of the carrier, he was up on the window ledge watching birds, totally at home. Pam even sent an email partway through his stay with a picture. There are individual rooms with glass doors and a big window with a ledge for each cat or cat family, and a "common area" that they can take turns using, with toys to play with and things to climb. The main door is kept locked to keep the kitties safe. You need to bring vet records of up-to-date vaccinations and she asks you to sign a permission paper in case vet care is necessary. This is the very best place for your cat to be while you are away.

The person I met told me he didn't think they had any opening when I was looking to board my dog. He told me his wife does the scheduling and would be back around 3:00. I waited until around 4:45 and then called. The woman that answered the phone said there was no availability. I asked why she didn't call and she said she got busy and sent me an email. i Don't know about you but I only periodically check my email on the weekends. I am frustrated if there was no availability I should have been told on Wednesday when I called. If they filled the last available space after I called they should have called me to advise me before I drove 45 minutes, 90 minutes round trip. This would have saved me time and would have allowed me to look for boarding somewhere else.
