My yard was overrun and needed replanting. It took almost a month before they were able to start the peoject, and only after i had to contact them several times asking when the work would begin. There were some delays that were not their fault, but there were also several commitments that they failed to meet and had to reschesule on me. They never let me know ahead of time that work would not be able to be completed. They would just miss their commitment and then i was left to contact them and find out the reason. After the initial work was finished, they were supposed to continue with weed control. They never showed up again. The manager contacted me several times inquiring about my lawn. Every time i told him weeds were growing back strong. The week of the 4th of july, i sent him a picture of my overgrown yard. At this point it was worse than before they dis the first job because the weeds were being watered. He said he would have someone over to pull weeds or mowz but again nobody showed on the agreed date. My yard was an absolute mess for the holiday weekend. After that i cut ties with this company and will never do business again. The wasted my time as a customer by telling me they could meet my needs, but completely fell flat on providing the actual service. Dont waste your time with this company. Their hands are too full to take care of you.

Maybe they could even update their website to actually show outages so we don't have to email and wait for a response while we watch vegetation die. It seems they can identify the issue each time , now they need to put all that fancy stuff to work and find a solution instead of excuses!

Had I known this I would have never moved to Kennewick, but I was new here and had no idea that the quality of service could be so low at a public utility. Having worked in the utility industry for decades it's mind boggling to me how there is zero accountability for their absolute ineptitude in operations. No explanation, no public tracking of outages and repairs, no customer satisfaction, no independent study group, no public representation (neighborhood representatives that the board would answer to). Nothing, silence. They don't work overtime or weekends. It's rare to see them working at all in such a small town. Because it's irrigation water there is no rush. They already have your money. There is no refund for services not delivered. No quarterly report to the PUC documenting service levels, response to outages and what is being done to shorten downtime and prevent outages. What an absolute scam this agency is. You have a job for life, the easiest product ever to deliver (untreated water), a captive customer base with no options to opt-out of service, no tracking of service levels and no accountability to a growing population. Revenues, executive salaries and excuses increase with the rise in population while service to customers decreases. It's brilliant. It's legal theft with no consequence. My conscience wouldn't allow me to work for an agency like this, I'd be embarrassed to admit that it's like a jobs program. I'm really surprised that it's not just contracted out and have a few contract administrators and a crew to pull weeds and rake moss (community service). Somehow the (City of Kennewick) water district is able to immediately perform repairs to their distribution system at any time, evenings, weekends, holidays, but KID remains incapable of timely repairs (or not breaking their infrastructure through incompetence) despite it being little more than a part time set of sprinklers. The system isn't complex or vast, yet they fail to deliver or improve every season.

When we first moved into this house we knew we would have to landscape the yard, both back and front. At first, we had no idea what that would take, and so attempted to do it ourselves. Unfortunately, we had to take the ground level down almost 6 inches which is A LOT of dirt. I knew we couldn't handle that on our own so... Travis saw my cry for help on Facebook and the rest is history. They removed and hauled off all that dirt, brought in top soil, installed all new irrigation as well as a new shut off valve and main line, a drip system, had another company do curbing, basalt rock in the beds, and sod down. They also installed a brand new pump and timer. The previous set up wouldn't work and was even installed in an unsafe manner. Dan made sure it was fixed and done correctly, and consulted KID to ensure the right equipment was used. Dan and Travis Patridge will make sure you're taken care of. Landscaping is expensive, but they will make sure they do it right the first time.

We complained to our builder during the build because the person we met with from A-1 was disorganized, rushed, and didn't even get my name correct. Despite clearly articulating what our desires were, he made no notes and left within 5 minutes. Now that our home is done, we've realized that the items we were promised were not installed or completed. What has been done is pretty abysmal. We were not the only people to complain to the builders about A-1. The project manager said, in response, "We are aware and are working to increase his intelligence". I don't even know what that means. If you want real honest opinions about A-1, go to any development that has had completed work for at least a year and you will get honest opinions. Case in point is a screenshot below (photos and names redacted for privacy) from our development FB group. I only snipped what is visible but the thread goes on and on about how terrible A-1 is.

Most of my fence is already falling apart after less than 2 years of it being up but the gate is just over a year old now. The grass that was placed is constantly dying and isn't level in the slightest. they placed it down on uneven ground and over huge rocks which has created huge holes once the grass settled and I've nearly sprained my ankle many times. My lawn mower blade stopped because it hit a rock that was very close to the surface. Not only was the grass placed over uneven ground, there was also trash, nails which were rusty, and huge chunks of wood. Some of the sprinklers weren't properly placed and one got destroyed by my lawn mower so I had to replace it- which I planned on doing anyway since the sprinklers they install are completely cheap and they either placed too many in one area so it floods or they don't reach everything and my grass is constantly dying. I am not the only one with these issues. There are over 20 people I've talked to so far in my neighborhood. I could go on forever. I should mention after my complaints throughout the years of dealing with this company, they fixed SOME of the rock under the grass issue and fixed the gate latch. The gate latch was fixed when I extended some fencing and later found out that since their wood is so cheap, the previous wood gets thrown away even if it's less than a year old. makes a ton of sense. Don't use this company- buyer be warned!
