Many diverse shopping and eating opportunities. Palmer's Steakhouse, Zesti , the Phoenix, and Creole Cafe are only a few of your options. Piggly Wiggly is less than a mile away . Also Nixon Park is a great place to go walking and enjoying many activities they have . One we enjoy is free concerts during the summer . They have underground parking so you don't have to worry about taking your car ! If you want quite surroundings you can have that , or if you still want to enjoy nite life you can do that too . I enjoyed the residents, the delicious luncheons given by Nancy and Byron, the two libraries, easy access to exercise room, plus computer room. Nancy and Byron made sure that all was well at the Meadows, and so many visitors commented on the lovely decorations in the lobby. There was coffee hour three times a week, Thursday night Happy Hour, and often times residents went to Friday Night Fish Fries. The staff was very proactive in finding the right caregiver to meet our needs and we were very pleased to have been assigned a caregiver who was compassionate, kind, and did a wonderful job managing my husband's changing needs over the past 18 months. The scheduling staff was very thorough and responsive to emails and calls. Home visits were scheduled periodically to check in on the dynamics between my husband and our caregiver. We recently terminated services only because my husband has progressed to the point that he no longer requires a daytime caregiver, but Assisting Hands was there for us in a time of great need and we were most appreciative for the great service!

The hallways poorly lit, my mom's room filthy. My mom wears Depends. I'm not sure anyone ever helped her change them. If they did, they were left in the kitchen garbage, and the entire apartment smelled like urine. We cleaned up feces ourselves. The carpet was rarely or never cleaned. My mom had an odor and her clothes looked filthy. The plethora of group activities, and services like the Beauty Parlor were spotty or non existent. Communication horrible. The administrator, Mike Postin, was rarely on the premises. Phone calls rarely returned. Billing inaccurate, and inconsistent. If there was ever an issue, it always seemed to be my mother's fault. We have since moved her to another facility across town (basically the same price). She looks bathed, her hair is done, clothes are clean, involved in activites, room is spotless. She is THRIVING. Do your homework. We are so sad that we left here here so long.

BEWARE this dangerous unprofessional agency who does not follow through on the care they claim to…read moreprovide. I had a good feeling about them based on my initial meeting with their nurse Genevieve and my elderly father. We made a plan, signed the necessary paperwork and a plan was implemented to start twice daily visits a few days later. On the first day, with no prior warning or excuse, they contacted my father to tell him they would not be coming after all but would start the next day. The next morning - with no notice - they also failed to appear. After sending a lengthy e-mail addressing my outrage, I just had a telephone conversation with the business owners and reps that compounded my outrage. They said that there is a shortage of health care workers and that visits are not guaranteed and they are sorry if I felt misled into believing otherwise. Of course our previous conversations were misleading. Nobody contacts this agency unless their elderly relative needs home health care to protect their health and safety. Literally nobody would enter into a contract with a care provide if they knew it was a crapshoot as to whether any actual care would be provided. This sleazy business is not only unprofessional, it's dangerous. Lives are literally edangered by their failure to show up and provide the services they promise. Beware! Beware! Beware! If you have any interest in protecting your loved ones, sign with a reputable agency instead.
