My initial complaint drafted by Dan Seigel was dismissed by the Judge because it did not have the…read morenecessary facts included. Dan's response to the Court? "But this is the same complaint I always file." That is him in a nutshell. Charging far too much for boilerplate pleadings. I provided all of the facts necessary to write a detailed complaint - he included virtually none of them. And when I asked why, he told me, "I do this all the time," and shut me down. I spent thousands of dollars only to have my complaint dismissed and then I had to start all over again - and pay him for it all over again. No apology, no discount for the amended filing, nothing. In Court he was easily rattled and made poor arguments; in one hearing he actually argued the Judge out of ruling on our behalf. On two of his five invoices he billed me at the wrong rate (higher than agreed upon, of course). When I pointed this out to him, he was curt and defensive with me. And when I fired him and found a new attorney, Dan contacted that new attorney five days after sending his final invoice to ask if he was going to get paid. His rate was 50% more than every other attorney I contacted, and while he advertises "concierge service," the only thing concierge about his service was his price.

When he says "we're here to protect you" he genuinely means it. He went to bat for me time and time again during my deal. My deal was a little tough and contentious at times (with the buyer). Luckily, I had someone like Mr. Sherman on my side navigating the waters. His advice was well worth it. He caught a provision in my contract that would have cost me a lot of money. This one catch alone basically paid for his service. His service is well worth the price. He also makes sure that he corrects mistakes before they happen so attorney fees don't get outrageous. I know there are plenty of horror stories with regards to attorneys. He is the polar opposite of that stereotype and great to deal with. I can tell you not only is he a good lawyer he's a good person. It feels good knowing that I was fully protected by a real professional who knows the law and knows how to help his clients. I have to say, Alliant was, by far, one of the most professional and organized closings I've ever experienced. And it was pretty quick too! The entire transaction was handled superbly. Tim worked with us and he was awesome. He covered the gigantic pile of paperwork in a very efficient manner and he also took time to explain all of the little details.
