There is so much to do there, between swimming, hiking, golfing, and fishing -- or even just relaxing by the pool with a great book. The rooms are immaculately clean and so comfortable; the beds are like actually sleeping on a cloud. Make sure you get a golf cart. It's the perfect addition to exploring the grounds and making you feel fancy dancy along the way. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and perfect to enjoy on the massive sundeck at Town Hall. We were there on two cold, rainy days, and the place wrapped us in warmth and comfort-and romance! It's furnished with quilts, antiques and art from Hermann, and the bathroom has a jacuzzi for 2. Words don't do it justice, see the website! The hosts-you get their full attention, because you're their only guests. Jack and Chris are friendly and gracious, but know when to give you your space. Breakfast is pretty much on your schedule-Chris will ask you when you want her to have it ready in the morning. Sometime during the day she'll slip in and restock towels and put dessert in the fridge, which leads me to... The food-OMG, you won't need lunch after eating a Cady breakfast! The first morning was a baked apple in homemade fruit liqueur, eggs Benedict, potato pancake, and bacon; the next morning, poached pears, whole wheat pancakes, scrambled eggs, and sausage. Most of it is locally produced. Absolutely delicious, and served in their dining room that's also furnished in Colonial-period decor. And wherever you get dinner, skip dessert, because it's better back at the cottage-we had chocolate torte and a peanut butter pie that was so good I almost wanted to roll in it! A word of warning, if you will-they have wi-fi if you bring a laptop, and a CD player stocked with classical and American Standards, but no TV-they expect that you're there to enjoy each other. And in these surroundings, that's not a problem. A charming place, will definitely return!

The cottage itself has roomy comforts and one of the best bathrooms I have seen in a hotel as far as a jacuzzi and the decor. Breakfast was a standout. Creamy eggs does slide well with a good cup of coffee. I recommend having the breakfast in the patio area and not being afraid to socialize with the owners. They are very friendly and helpful in navigating your way around Hermann to know where to shop and eat. So we were excited to book the Bloom House to have a little get away just the two of us. We are so happy with our choice with the Bloom House. The house is away from the beaten path of the hustle and bustle of downtown, but close enough to take the trolley to all the many wineries. It has all the amenities that a traditional hotel/bed and breakfast (minus the breakfast) plus more. They offer a full size refrigerator, stove, and dining area to sit and enjoy any meal we would like to prepare ourselves. You can even eat your meal or enjoy a cup of coffee outdoors in the morning. There are toiletries, bath towels, linens, and all the extras plus a full size kitchen. No need to bring anything from home because the Bloom House has it all for you. They even have a picnic basket and/or for you to take with you to the wineries. They offer a King size bed and another spare bedroom for another couple, if you are looking to enjoy the taste of Hermann with family, friends, or additional guest. Great customer service with booking and follow through with our stay. Such a cozy little home.

The location is perfect, one block to the trolley stop and walking distance to several other downtown restaurants and shops. We enjoyed dinner at the Black Walnut Friday which was homemade pasta and local wine. Saturday we enjoyed the trolley services before freshening up and attending Stonehill's annual Norton dinner. The bank bar below the suites was a great last stop of the night with live music and a celebratory drink. It closes at 11:00 which allowed us to head up for our lovely loft for a refreshing nights sleep. Constance was the most incredible host, she allowed us early check-in when we arrived to Hermann early afternoon Friday, and gave a quick tour of the loft and goodies she left for our weekend (homemade quiche and cinnamon rolls,yummy!!) Highly recommend a stay here, it was a very memorable weekend and perfect stay!

He also made sure we made it back to our train on time. We wanted to stop at a few more places, but he knew being from there we weren't going to make it and talked us into heading to the stop early.
