Good golf courses, good service, delicious food and best of all, fair prices.

This is a great course with a great layout. Unfortunately we played when the grass was all dormant and brown . The ball had a tendency to get buried in the grass and was difficult to find . Played General's Retreat last weekend- course was super well maintained. Definitely a long course, even from the ladies tee's there were many 400 yd par 4's. Staff was super friendly and the carts had digital course maps with GPS so can know the distance to the greens and hazards. Really pretty, definitely would play again. read more

Cart girl would not stop and also was not having it with our group. There were no hot dogs at the turn and that really pissed my uncle billy off and cost him 3 strokes. Hermitage hosted the GNAA golf tournament yesterday. It was a beautiful day and the course was in excellent condition. I wasnt able to play because i was helping at one of the sponsorship holes. I will be back to play some rounds at this course. Thanks for providing an awesome experience for all that participated in the tournament this year!! read more

Played General's Retreat for the second time - it is a nice an open course with a few challenging holes.

Nicest public course in the area hands down!!! It's a must play in the area

This place did not live up to its billing this past week. Looks good from a distance, but not in all that great a shape......neither fairways, nor greens. Gaylord is MUCH better, and costs less!!! read more

I played the Presidents Reserve today and I have to say that I was surprisingly disappointed. Not in the course as much as the service. Granted, it is early in the year and maybe they aren't fully staffed, but the staff that they did have seemed to not care about out of town guest. I showed up an hour before my tee time and specifically told the pro shop and the starter that I would like to get off early if I could. While I watched a couple of different groups go off with less than a full foursome, they did nothing to put me in with either group. When my tee time was getting near I returned to the starter and reminded him that I had no idea who I was playing with and needed him to introduce me to the group I was playing with. Needless to say he didn't and I ended up going out 20 minutes late as a twosome stuck behind a bunch of foursomes. The course itself was nice and in good condition for early in the year. read more

Hermitage Golf course is by far they best public course in Nashville. Both courses offer challenges and two types of greens. One course is more open almost links style while one is tighter and harder which is why pro events used to be held there. The staff is super friendly and are truly in the business of keeper the golfer happy. Well worth a visit and also home to a frequent player program. Keep in mind it is a top golf course rated by golf digest! read more

On vacation to Nashville, decided to play Hermitage's President's Reserve. It is the best public course I have played. Fun and challenging. Very beautiful landscapes and views. Only did not give the 5 stars because not a big fan of Zoysia grass on courses. I like old school bermuda grass. read more

This Presidents Reserve course is excellent...best public course I've ever played! The scenery is worth the price of admission alone, no kids playing on the greens, no un-sighlty condos built around the course, just you and nature and an excellent well kept course with a very friendly staff...makes for a great day of golf! read more

Got a chance to play here for a bachelors party. We played both courses - Generals is definitely better, but both were great experiences. Excellent southern hospitality and great staff. We ran behind pace but the Marshals were great about it and gave us all the time we wanted. The food was also great - there was a guy who does BBQ competitions and he made us AMAZING chicken sandwiches. In NY, he would make a fortune. Great course, great food, great people. read more

Had a chance to play both courses while I was visiting the area. Rented their clubs and to my surprise good set and in good condition. Both courses have there own challenges, nicely laid out, and very beautiful. The the starter/marshal was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend playing these courses while in the area. Only wish is that they would give you a towel with club rental. Hands and grips got pretty sweaty in that humility. read more

8 of us stayed the weekend at the brand new cottages that just opened (first ones to stay there!). There was a small issue with the hot water at first but was quickly fixed when brought to managements attention and they were over accommodating to make up for it! The cottage was absolutely adorable with a spectacular view. We look forward to coming back next year!!!! read more
