The studio itself is a collective owned by three women and the vibe is professional, relaxed, and inclusive (that was important to me); aside from being talented artists, they do good things in the community, like food drives and fundraisers. And I *love* my new lupine tattoo: Fae specializes in nature-inspired fine-line work and I'm thrilled with the design she came up with, which is both minimalist and faithful to nature, with a touch of the abstract. There was no response back besides a look, and when I asked about availability, the response I received felt cold and dismissive. One of the women at the front desk did seem kind--I wish I had spoken only with her. As someone who just moved to the area, I was hoping to get some helpful information and maybe become a new customer. I rarely leave reviews, but the interaction left me feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. It's a shame, because the place itself looks great. But based on that first impression, I won't be returning. This barber shop that I am talking about is located at 611 Hammond St in Bangor and this review is about them. I would say that they have a nice and clean place. You don't need to make a reservation because it's a first come first serve. The price is descent and reasonable compared to the other barber shop in the area.They don't accept credit cards, it's either cash or check only. They have two women barbers working on separate schedules, one on Tuesday and Thursday only and other one is on Monday,Wednesday and Friday, they close on the weekend. This place was recommended to me and oh my goodness, ITS AMAZING. First of all, this is - no exaggeration - the best massage I've ever had. I also added extraction to my facial and it was the best extraction I've ever had. Yes it was a bit painful, but that's how you know it's a good session! The best part - Everything was in one room, on one bed. I was able to get a facial and massage and not move.
