Was given an appointment. The staff called me days before the appointment and said they had a cancellation come in now. I explained that I could not. I am glad I called before the appointment they gave me because they deleted my appointment because I said I could not come in the same day they called me! I am writing this review on behalf of my husband, Serezh. He had 10:30 AM appointment and after waiting two hours he went to the front desk and asked staff (Mariette?) how much longer he had to wait. He was told by the staff member that if he didn't want to wait, "there's the door" and he could leave. He waited a bit longer and was finally taken in at 12:45 PM--2 hours & 15 minutes after his appointment time. This was not the first time this happened. i've never left a review for a doctor before but this was exceptional. i was refereed to another doctor before him, dr. Anderson located in DTLA, it was an absolutely horrible experience, from the wait (2 + hours) to staff disrespect and disregard towards all the patients in the room. and i didn't even get to see the doctor. everyone in the room was extremely frustrated. oh, and parking was like $11. thank god, my pcp found dr. Ayvazian. the wait was great, quite quick. the front office ladies were on point with their work, not wasting time and getting things going. the doctor came into the room right away, was super communicative, clear, and efficient. fixed what the emergency doctor did and did not do, prescribed the right stuff and explained everything. i came back two weeks later, dr. Ayvazian did ultrasound on the spot. quickly moved me to the procedure room and took out the giant splinter sitting in my foot that other not one but two doctors failed to do. so smooth and so quick. everything was clean and every person and my nurse were very helpful. for the first time in the united states of america i was truly impressed and satisfied with my doctor's visit. for the first time it felt like the doctor actually cared, and not there to keep draining my pockets. plus, free street parking, just check the signs for street cleaning:) thank you so much dr. DO NOT TRUST THIS P.O.S!!! He operated on my foot after a motorcycle accident. Three appointments a week for 3 months & never even cared about checking my x-rays properly. My insurance then told me I had to change to a podiatrist in my network & he literally asked "why are you walking on this!?" (I was in a boot by then). I then had to have another surgeon literally saw my foot in half to realign everything properly cause this dipshit didn't even care to look at the healing alignment. This turned a recovery that could have easily been 2-3 months into like 10 months total, couldn't get back to work for about a year. Changed my life because he just doesn't give a f***! Dr. Ayvazian is a great doctor!!! He doesn't talk much but he is quite multi lingual - speaks in Armenian, English, and Spanish, that I know of, and might know more languages. And his work is PHENOMENAL! I had a busted Achilles tendon, but my previous doctor, a horrific doctor, told me I didn't need surgery and it would heal by itself, though my tendon was so busted, there was a huge hole/depression in my leg where the tendon used to be. There was no way it was going to heal itself. But I trusted him and hobbled around for three months hoping it would get better. I got an MRI again and found the hole was still as big three months later. And I still couldn't stand on it; my leg would give way like jelly. And that doctor, a Dr. Wong, had even told me I didn't have to come again (!!!) But thank God for Dr. Ayvazian! I met a lady who told me about Dr. Ayvazian, who said he would tell me the truth and do what was needed. Also he takes all kinds of insurance, even low income insurance. I went and have been so thankful. He couldn't believe anyone would tell me I didn't need surgery. So surgery was scheduled and it went great. His work is precise and amazing. The surgery was done so well, the scar has almost disappeared and my foot has regained most of its mobility after several months. Even though I was told my ankle would never be as flexible again. I have every confidence now that I will be back to normal and as flexible as before and be doing all my sports I used to do. And I have Dr. Ayvazian to thank for it. (I am also getting physical therapy elsewhere to help it along). I just wish I would have found him sooner, so that my rehab would have taken 3 or 4 months instead of the 7-8 months it's taken because of the initial doctor's advice which delayed my surgery by several months. Very glad for Dr. Ayvazian's work. He has saved my tendon and my sports ability. Best podiatrist and podiatry surgeon ever. If i could give this doctor 0 stars i would! I was given a referral to go to this office 3 years ago. When i walked in and gave my referral paper the first thing the front desk women did was ask me to leave and come back with a up to date referral, being very rude. Instead of asking to call my doctor office to extend the referral date she just told me to go away. The one i had was apparently expired but the appt they had given me was past the date and said it was fine before coming in. I went back after a month later. When i spoke to the doctor he seemed ok at first but i felt like i was so sure but went ahead with the surgery. Before the surgery time, i had a situation with the old women with short brown or black hair with big old glasses. I wanted to just scream at her but held it in. The doctor told me he was going to remove a small bunion bone from my pinky toe. I was told if i wanted a metal to be replace on the bone but i said no. I had a second option before the surgery that to not agree to the metal replacement. The doctor went against my wishes and replaced the bone with a small metal. I was in a lot of pain and all he gave me was just medication after medication. I cried every night because the medication was not helping. When i called the office the front desk lady rudely told me to suck it up and deal with the pain. I couldnt walk because he made the cast round underneath, so i would always slip and fall off the churches. When i went in to have the cast removed. Instead of cutting it up, he simply without warning took it off my foot how u remove a damn shoe from a very tight shoe lace knot. I cried in pain after. He simply did not care after. He had purposely put a metal replacement in order to get money off my insurance, as my second option doctor told me about. I couldnt walk for months and ended up being in a wheel chair because the pain was too much to handle. I ADVISE ANYONE TO GO TO ANY OTHER DOCTOR BUT THIS ONE. I regret ever going to him. I am very great full for finding Dr Ayvazian who helped me with my painful toes. I was embarrassed for years but after the surgery not only I felt better but over time it looked great. Now I'm able to wear my open toe shoes and my high heel shoes comfortably and with confidence the surgery was very well explained and I was not forced to make any decisions without enough information. He was great at what he did but also very compassionate. Anyone who I have referred to has been pleased. Even the physical therapy lady Alice was great. I even recommended a friend who was having complications from his foot surgery by another podiatrist. He took his time explaining everything to my friend, his options. By the time I got to see an Dr. on my second visit they had lost my chart with my x-rays. I had to call my own insurance company in order to get a referral done. We love Dr. Ayvazian! My wife went to Glendale Adventist hospital because of a circulation issue in her leg. She received a bypass surgery but was told that she might lose part of her foot. Dr. Ayvazian said, no, he felt he could save my foot. And he did! The women are extremely rude and flagrantly uppity. By the time I finally arrived, they were fighting among themselves in the back while the lady grew snippy with me when I asked her questions about my insurance. I literally wasted about two hours driving, being misguided, and waiting here ONLY to be told that they don't take my insurance. They discontinued it but they haven't updated their lists for the other doctors? I'm uncertain as to how that works exactly but this was unprofessional at its best. Dr. Ayvazian is definitely a master of his craft. I have never had a surgery with no need for a painkiller medication...and any other for the matter of the fact. His concentration on the medical condition was evident to me the moment I met him, as opposed to rhetoric most doctors display upon meeting new patients. I was surprised by his care for my feet, almost as if I were at the pedicure salon. Ten days after surgery, I am moving around my apartment without crutches,.. although not advised. I had few surgeries in my life, but this one feels as it never happened. Also, the administration of the office arranged everything seamlessly and the hospital care was superior. Dr. Ayvazian is very responsive. He performed foot surgery on my mother after a bad fall. From all of the many injuries she sustained, her foot gave her the least amount of concern and pain thanks to the doctor. Three years later we had to revisit the doctor and he is as responsive, kind and personable as we remember from our first interaction. Today was my 2nd visit to this office and totally different from the first. The doctor is very nice and friendly but his staff on the other hand need some training in customer service and how you talk to a patient. Front staff girl calls me up after waiting 45 minutes and says we have no authorization to see you? My response was why did you not tell me that when the appt was made? And they even called a day before to confirm the appt. The girl had a stupid look on her face and could not answer the question. She goes and gets this rude B**** named Ziba who comes out with an attitude saying it is not their responsibility to get an authorization and I should have known that before coming there. First of all I don't know your office procedures and you should have explained that a month ago when the appt was made. She pointed her finger and said this is the thing..........At that point I turned around and walked out because she was close to being asked to step outside. She was RUDEST at it's finest. These office people are rude as hell and have lost a patient as well as I will be filing a compliant with my insurance on the treatment I received as a patient that knew nothing about their office procedures. I remember I used to feel that the front office staff could be a lot better, and after reading the reviews on here I realized I was not the only one. I had not gone to him for several months and when I went back this past month I was happy to find that the front office staff is completely new. I was referred by my internist to Dr. Ayvazian at the Glendale Foot & Ankle Podiatry Center in Glendale. I arrived at 3:40 PM for my 4:00 PM appointment (thinking I would have paperwork to complete). I had paperwork to complete, but it was 5:45 when I finally saw the doctor. Our visit lasted approximately 8 minutes - long enough for him to tape my foot and ask me questions about my medications, allergies and physical condition, all of which were addressed in the two-page typewritten data sheet I handed to his staff which he did not read until I reminded him of it three times. He's a very busy and nice doctor, and I respect that - but, when I scheduled my next visit, I asked whether a two-hour wait was typical, and was told "yes." The doctor is very personable and courteous, but a two-hour wait is a scheduling nightmare that is very discourteous and disrespectful to patients. read more

ANYONE THINKING OF DOING A SURGERY,PLEASE READ THIS. If I could give a zero I would. I'll never step foot in his office ever again. Had a surgery in 2015 and still suffering from his unprofessional work. Some of the staff are very rude and barely know English. Wait times are very long. He told me I would be back on my feet within 2 months of the surgery. Took around 5 months to get back on my feet. Two months into my surgery I got an infection. He gave me strong medications which did not help. I ended up going to emergency room to find out that there was an infection in my foot. Before any of the surgeries, he said it would only take one to fix the issue. After all the surgeries and medications, he said that I would need another surgery. Also the "physical therapy" is very unprofessional and doesn't know what she is doing. I don't think she has a license to work. Had to go to some other physical therapist since he couldn't send me to one. Til this day I'm suffering from this surgery. Not sure how he still has patients. Everyone should know that he doesn't care about your health, he ruined part of my life. GO see another surgeon. It doesn't hurt to see second, third opinions. What will hurt is if you choose him to do any type of surgery on you. All the second, third opinions I went to said that he basically "screwed up your foot". I have been going to see Dr. Ayvazian since I was 12 years old. He correctly my hammer toes so I no longer look like I have rabbit feet. Recently, I had gotten glass jammed in my Achilles heel and was unable to get it all out. Having been in excruciating pain for over 4 months, I decided to see Dr. A again. He opened the wound (which had obviously healed since the time of injury) and had gotten all the glass out. He discussed the possibility that the little pieces of glass still may be stuck in there and to come back for a second visit if need be so he can try again. Sure enough, he got it all out in one try and now I'm able to walk without feeling the burning from the glass. I can once again resume to my activities of daily living. Thanks to Dr. A, I can do what I love most in this world; hike! I can't thank this man enough! He is truly a godsend! read more
